If you're starting out with Reolink this is an essential part of the kit and you can easily install different cameras to suit your needs. I recommend getting the RLC-833A 8MP Security Camera if you're just starting out, as it provides crystal clear footage paired with colour night vision and person/vehicle/pet detection. I'd recommend swapping out the included 2TB HDD to something larger at some point to store more footage.

        Nope, just enter one after the other.

        Better yet, if you locate them on the store page or promo page in AliExpress app, you can copy them to your wallet and AliExpress will automatically apply the maximum you are legible for, including their generic codes and store specifics codes, plus any cashback credits and coins balance.

    Hi - will this support 12MP recording - thinking about using RLC-1240A.

      12MP is fine. It was my mistake as the listing has 8MP camera bundles available and I coped that.

    I'd recommend swapping out the included 2TB HDD to something larger at some point to store more footage.

    For reference with 2TB, I get about a week of 24 hr recording with 4x Reolink RLC-811A (4K/8MP Cameras).

    Been meaning to replace with a larger hard drive, but been lazy.

    I remember reading that even though the NVR only officially supports up to 6TB, you can actually install larger capacity hard drive.

      Yep. Current version officially supports up to 8TB. But mine and many others are currently running a 16TB Seagate Exos X16. People are having similar successes with WD Purples too.

    Do you know which hardware version the RLN8-410 is?

    Seems that some hardware versions don't support 16MP cameras and a few other discrepancies here and there.

      Just had mine shipped today (grr timing - purchased on the weekend for $322.99 (with free shipping) using their eBay 15% off code …
      Unfortunately I have the original (H3MB16) which wont play nice with my POE doorbell - had a workaround running up until the latest doorbell firmware update which kicked in over the weekend.
      Hopefully this is the latest N7MB01 model.

        Just wanted to ask - is there anywhere to check physically for the hardware version? Or is this something you can only do on the Reolink client?

          I asked support before we purchased the POE doorbell camera because we held onto a 4 camera and NVR deal from a while back (prior to building our new house) and they couldnt tell me based on the serial number on the box. Needs to be found through the information menu in the NVR settings once up and running. Ideally they would put it on the packaging box and NVR unit along with the serial information.

    I've always held back as to me wiring it all up around my house would be difficult. How do others manage to hook it all up on a large property ?

      I've done two installs so far - my property I routed ethernet from a central location up the walls (I drilled holes through the joists and studs and slid in conduit) and throughout the roof and then out the eaves where I wanted the cameras. A family members property I ran conduit all along the outside walls and used round junction boxes (similar to the reolink D20's) to mount dome cameras on the eaves (this way I didn't have to get in the roof).

    Thanks for posting this deal!

    Ended up paying about $350 for this NVR and 2x 833A cameras after stacking all the codes and cashback deals. Estimating another ~$20 of AliExpress cashback on top of that too.

    Probably could've saved a few more dollars because I couldn't get some of the coupons to work but this is my first time ordering from AliExpress and it was too complicated to figure out in my sleepy state…

    I'm looking to add a CX820 down the track but this is enough to get started!

    I have Swann camaras installed from a previous setup but now I need a new controller box and hard drive. Will this unit accept the Swann cameras? TIA

    Also if you connect these to local network and NOT through the NVR can do the time lapse. And use a micro sd card. They also record to the NVR as it finds the cameras on local network. Other cameras can be connected BUT won't record. I haven't gotten them to record. Just some cheapies.

    Would you guys recommend the NVR or running Frigate on a server and using a NAS to store camera recordings? My gut is telling me the latter and I've heard Frigate has gotten really good lately.

    I installed the Reolink PoE doorbell the other day and it's really good so was looking for a nice solution for that. Only the one camera planned so I might just go with the Frigate option

      Having done both, NVR for sure. Frigate is a much bigger PITA. If you’re happy to stuff about go for it. I couldn’t even easily view my streams on my phone last time I used Frigate because the h265 support was so flakey and there was no dedicated app. Perhaps that has changed?

      Either way this is the ‘just works’ version. Frigate provides more flexibility if required. Also uses a lot more hardware to do so though.
