Increased cashback, cheapest NBN FTTP plan is $60 for BYO.
Being with Optus for last few months, no issues atleast for me.
Better than previous $150/$200 cashback offers.

you don't want to be mates any more? if so, i think it's 30 days after your next bill.
I couldn't select an activation date - chat support can set a connection date up to 30 days ahead.
Thanks. did you got the connection date changed after placing the order? Also, is the cashback tracked as your order status might not show completed yet?
No I tried to change date by calling them or chatting with them but it never worked. They had already cancelled my existing connection and moved me to Optus. Ymmv
I'm going through the process now. I've spoken to Optus, they can activate the connection within 30 days. There is nothing in the online checkout to set the activation date, but if you call 1300 929 949 they can change the activation date. You need to wait about 15 minutes after placing the order to call them for the order to be in the system.
Incidentally my internet connection dropped for a minute just now and I panicked, but it's back running again and I'm not connected to Optus yet! Okay, did a speedtest, it looks like I'm getting the new speeds!!! This could get messy… not even sure how I could be getting new speeds as I haven't put new details in my modem.
…stay tuned for more exciting updates.
Update: cancellation has already gone to Superloop, still haven't spoke to Optus to change the date.
Update2: now tracked in SB.
Thanks for the update!
I signed up and within 20 minutes Optus already took over the connection even though I wanted to start on a later date. Called Optus and they couldn't do anything besides they can cancel and sign me up again via phone call which means won't get the cash back. Now have no choice but to activate the optus service and lose 1 month charge to my current NBN provider
Update 3: been on the phone to Optus customer service for 55 minutes. now doing this as a research project… The very patient CSR has walked through again trying with me doing another online booking (via shopback). She's trying to catch the order and change the activation date before it gets activated.
(edit my time is worth more than this!)
Update 4: The CSR despite being incredibly helpful, in the end couldn't change the date because she was worried if she did it would mess up the order and I get no cashback.
In the end for me I pay 1 more month to Superloop ($85), so net is +$265 cashback. I'm going onto an Ultrafast Plan which I wanted to do anyway, just need to put a reminder to churn in 6 months. Still a good deal.
My read on this: if you're with Superloop/Exetel and need to give 30 days notice, the only way would be to take Optus modem. Then they can't do an immediate cancellation - but then you're saddled with another modem you need to pay for over 36 months. Nothing in the online stuff about sending the modem back if you cancel - I guess this is in the detailed T&C's if you can be bothered chasing it.
Thanks a lot for sharing the experience, it saves lot of time for others.
Update 5: no internet now. I guess it's because Optus already took over the connection the first time I put the order through, now they already have it but can't transfer it. I'm tempted to wait to see if they call me and get them to change the connection date - but i've got to work tonight and I don't want them to do something stupid and break the cashback.
@braddsey: Update 6: Optus have hosed my connection. if they don't sort it tomorrow morning, then I'm going back to Superloop!
@braddsey: The same thing happened with me. In the end, I just couldn't wait and switched to mate. That was seamless
@braddsey: Final update: finally got onto an Optus technician who knew what they were doing. They had to reconfigure the MAC address at their end. All sorted.
Now to watch the cashback like a hawk to ensure it gets paid!
Exclusions
You won't get Cashback on:
Store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated
All Optus NBN plans are on sales with discounts. Do we still get cashback?
Would be nice to get someone to confirm @gotyourback
@gotyourback
Please confirm?
Great question! If the discount or promo is automatically applied at checkout, your purchase should still qualify for Cashback.
But if you manually enter a promo code or manually apply a discount, then it won’t be eligible.

why so long?
So that you forget about it
anyways signed up and tracking within 20 minutes showing $350
Shopback's site seems to be having an issue displaying the cashback tiers properly, as it seems to be showing both $350 and 14% cashback for prepaid sims.
Although, looking at the tier names under the hood, it appears that the $350 for Prepaid Sims may be referring to the $180 Mobile SIM Starter Kit
instead.
Not sure if that's actually purchasable or refers to given they don't appear to sell a prepaid sim kit for $180 on their website. (There's a $120 one that increases to $180 in April, but I'm not sure that's what it refers to, or whether it counts as a special that would invalidate the affiliate sale)
Edit: Oh, that's the 5G Home Internet starter kit isn't it… I think Shopback or Optus have messed with the labels over time and nothing matches up correctly anymore, given the 14% says Prepaid Mobile (Data SIM Plan only)
but does not on the outside. Suggest not touching these with a 3.048m pole because I have no faith in Shopback or Optus.
Shopback and Optus are both shady companies, alot could go wrong.
Fk me. Joined when $150
Me too
same, joined 2 days back
I signed up for HFC NBN at 1:25PM and was connected at 1:30PM. Received the tracking email from Shopback for $350 at 1:40PM.
@hellwolf which speed?
Optus Plus Everyday Fast nbn 100/20 $74/month for the first 6 months.
@hellwolf Thank you
NBN Home Internet
$0
$100
so this is fake?
I've previously joined optus when they had the same offer. The cashback didn't track, upon raising a request with support and providing all the details, I'm expecting a reply by 30/6/25.
I see this common with my account that the large cashbacks dont track and I have to raise a request, whereas all the small ones track correctly using the same browser/system. Have few support cases on the big ones, including Trip.com where it tracks the general percentage, and not the upsized ones and the support will ask for a proof of that upsize offer, so do remember to take a screenshot.
Trust me you're not alone. With big CBs, shopback is infamous for not honouring them even after they are tracked.
Thanks for sharing. Just joined NBN service
$350 cashback for any NBN (FTTP) speed?
I signed up at 12 PM and connected but yet to receive tracking ,seems a bit hit and miss . Says tracking in 2 days so lets see.
Same here, no tracking yet.
Tracked for me via mobile shopback browser after 30 mins of placing order.
Yeah I did via shopback app and still waiting
Will credit check be performed for this?
I think for BYO there is no credit check. But you can confirm with customer care.
Confirmed, even if you do BYO modem they do credit check
How is a "new customer" defined? Specifically, if someone was an Optus NBN customer three months ago but then switched to another provider, would they now be considered a new customer?
Where does it say 60 days for NBN plan? I can only see 60 days for postpaid mobile plan
I was also going to ask this.
Looks like they have updated the terms
Tracked within 18 minutes. But not worth it as Optus is giving the run around to defer the activation date for my NBN service
I placed the order and 30 minutes later my current NBN got cut off and transferred to Optus without any notice. I still trying to call then to activate on a different date. Now having no internet and waiting in line to talk to them.
Same issue. Wasted 90 minutes getting bounced from one department to another. Only to be told "sorry your service is already active, we can't change your activation date". But the agent offered credit on bill from now until the date I wanted to churn to Optus to.
Lucky you. I wasted 30 minutes too but they only offered to cancel the order and sign me up again via phone call which I won't get the cashback so didn't go with that.
Same; ordered last night - no tracking, my Tangerine is cut off and no Optus NBN to replace it.
Worse; circle.life switched to Amaysim today and it’s barely working - our household has to walk up a hill up the road to get internet today.
Call Optus on 1300 739 485. This is their connections team. They just sorted my connection after a long drawn-out saga yesterday.
what dollar amount did it track as? the shopback website had $100 for NBN in one spot and $350 in another.
Tracked at $350.
Mine $350 too
I joined with optus just now, tracked my cash back $350 and says internet connection day will be today.
Wow, basically free internet for 6 months. Sign me up!
Can I order second connection for another address and get another $350 Cashback?
I was previously with Optus. Does anyone know after how long I will be considered new optus customer again?
Thanks
Want to know too as I just churned away a few months ago.
I want to know about this as well. I had an Optus prepaid mobile number almost ten years ago and they've asked me about that when they've called to set up NBN. I've applied for NBN with new email and Optus have "updated" my email on the account. I've never had their NBN, so they call this a "new service".
If just because I had an inactive account with Optus becomes a reason for Shopback to decline cashback, it'll end up with an ombudsman or two.
Just to clarify I am seeing the below on the website it shows NBN Home Internet as $100. But if you click on the View 2 More it shows up as $350.00
Fk Optus scum of the the earth never pay out on anything
Signed up 10 minutes ago, configured my own modem and now connected. My cashback also tracked in like in 10 minutes and now pending on account. Thanks!
Anyone know what happens to my existing superloop billing if I sign up for this? Do I need to be careful I don't do it at the start of a new billing month so I don't waste a month's charges with superloop?
can u schedule connection date for 30 days time and give superloop notice?
No, you can't schedule it
See my post at the top of the thread… it's got messy, on hold for Optus customer service now.
Think I might just stay with superloop for now then..
Your superloop will likely gets cancelled instantly like mine. Optus took over in less than 30 minutes. Can't undo it either
Is superloop going to give you a refund at all?
Signed up in the morning. No tracking and not connected yet.
Ordered 90mins ago. Connected 30mins ago. Still no tracking. Typical ShopBack!!
Was going to sign up, noticed the t&c says 'New Customers on a completed sale'. The sign up forms found my previous ID in the system and wants me to merge. Not sure about this now, as there's no definition of new customer anywhere on the page.
@gotyourback
Please confirm?
Wow - i transferred within 10 minutes, and tracked within 30.
Did you purchase through computer browser or phone app?
Signed up FTTP churn from Tangerine.
Not looking promising. Signed up, activated in within 10 minutes before I could even get through on the phone so that is a week's worth of internet at Tangerine paid for and lost.
Currently on the phone trying to get a credit.
They tell me it is not active even though I had lost connection, had to change my router settings, am now reconnected on new settings and have an email saying the service is active. Optus never cease to amaze.
Update: Transaction has at least tracked $350 thank goodness. Less salty now but they are so useless.
How long did it take to track? Mine hasn’t tracked yet.
About 45 minutes
I'm already an Optus prepaid customer but haven't had internet from Optus before. Do I qualify for this? considering I will be a new Optus 5G internet/NBN customer?
@gotyourback
Please confirm?
Could you please help with this question? @gotyourback
Based on Optus' terms, Cashback is eligible for new customers on a completed sale of a new service—so if you haven’t had Optus 5G Home Internet or NBN before, you should qualify! ✅
Just a few things to keep in mind:
🔹 Cashback is paid once per order, no matter how many plans you get.
🔹 Your new service needs to stay connected for at least 60 days.
🔹 Purchases made via the Optus app won’t be eligible.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you’ve got any other questions. 😊
Is there a limit of how many nbn plan can an account can receive cashback for? And is there any benefit in keep it more than 60 days?
Obviously keeping it for only 60 days would be optimal that's if their poorly worded terms are infact talking about NBN plans as they only mention 60 days for prepaid plans. To be extra safe you could stay for 4 months which is when the payout should happen and you would still be +$54 if you went for the $74 plan.
i think Shopback updated the T&C
Cashback is payable on an approved eligible new Postpaid Mobile plan, 5G Home Internet, NBN Home Internet that remain connected for a minimum of 60 days. Cashback is not applicable for purchases made via the Optus app.
Thanks op. I shall try this too after the terrible outages at southern phone recently
I currently have optus NBN. Can i ask them to cancel and signup again ?
Thanks OP. Great deal. Ordered service 6.43pm. Connected at 6.47pm. FTTP service. Still waiting for cashback confirmation.
Is this FTTP only? I rent so I don't want a FTTP installation done. I want a FTTN plan.
Where does it say FTTP only?
It doesn't say that in the cashback T&C. But when I put my address into the Optus nbn eligibility check, it says that I am eligible for FTTP, and then any plan that I select past that point is an NBN FTTP plan. I even have to book an installation appointment before completing the sale. Its the same if I go straight to the Optus website without going through Shopback. There is no option to select a FTTN plan.
nbn are shifting selected homes to FTTP in certain areas due to FTTN problems. FTTP step by step guide.
Been over 5 hours still no tracking. Does Optus give you pro rata refund or 30 days satisfaction guarantee?
It’s been over 10 hours and still no tracking update! @gotyourback why are some of us seeing delays with tracking?
I took a screenshot just in case.
same here. no sign of tracking after > 12 hours
Same - we filmed us signing up, juuuuuust to be safe.
If they don’t honour it; small claims court. Not banging spiders.
That's good deal. Can you select the activation date while ordering online? I have current provider will need to give 30 days notice so?
