how will these work with Win 11?

    • -2

They won't. They never claimed to.

      • Screw windows 11, vista and win me still work fine.

        • +3

          N00b, use DOS

    • +5

I have one that is with a i5-6700T processor with 16GB of RAM running Windows 11 no problems.

Whilst not on the official support list, it can work. But you might need to modify the BIOS.

TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot: If installed in a Lenovo M910q or similar business desktop, very likely supported (just may need to be enabled in BIOS)

    • +2

Download the windows iso, and Rufus, burn to a USB and bypass the windows requirements.

Won't be officially supported but this generation of i7s have tpm and secure boot. Just the processor generation isn't supported.

Didn't have much luck with mine, install gets about halfway then bluescreens due to a driver conflict or something and rolls back

This makes a great home server. Install Proxmox, then your appliances.
You can load up a windows 11 VM, no problem.

      • +1

I've got Proxmox on one of these with a 6700T and 16GB RAM, and Windows 11 VM runs like a 2-legged dog. Am I doing something wrong?

        • Could be multiple things. Have you enabled hardware virtualisation in the BIOS? Have you set your CPU type to "Host"?

          https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_11_guest_best_practices

        • years ago i put 32GB ram in an N100 intel ($150 mini-pc) and can run 6 VM's with multiple linux terminals and desktops and a windows 11 VM and works

i used pass-through to 4 wifi dongles connected to four different hotspots running services like teamarchiver for those profit boost sims, did some other things that was easier with linux desktops, running into ram issues adding windows but i imagine if i did less it'd run fine

running windows 11 and some terminal only linux with docker containers, home assistant, jellyfin, immich, qbittorrent etc concurrently should work well

although depends on your definition of two-legged dog

i was just very surprised how cheap/competent N100 is with adequate ram

      • I tried installing my appliances.

First my toaster, then my kettle, I even tried my dishwasher. Can confirm that this doesn't work well for this.

    • can also use Windows 11 Enterprise IoT LTSC iso and run that project with 120k+ stars that's hosted on microsoft's service github to activate, lol

also runs more comfortable on less ram and most bloat removed

preferably you'd download the non eval version linked from that github so you don't need to activate every 30 days or be a company with a relationship with microsoft who can get enterprise licenses

unless you don't mind Windows 10 IoT 2019 LTSC these go for about $250-300

      • that project with 120k+ stars

        linked from that github

What is THAT ? DM me maybe - Plz

Title says 16GB, but description says 8GB.

    • -1

      Which is true? I think it's 16

      • Title has been updated.

      • So do I. I’ve bought 2 of these so I’ll find out soon!

  • +2

i bought one from the previous deal and it’s been really good. i ended up buying 2 more m910q to replace to older mini pcs in my proxmox cluster.

for the m900 server, i'm running postgres, gitea, plex and 2 web app. it hits 30% cpu utilisation when plex is streaming and uses 6GB ram.

if you’re using proxmox, setting up certain features like nfs passthrough and hardware passthrough, can take a bit of manual tweaking. nothing too difficult, just requires adjusting some updating the lxc config.

  • Can I use this as emulator to play ps2, Ps3 games?
