Couldn;t even search for my order on Bunnings site, even after explicitly putting in order nos. and dates in My Account so don't think this has hit Bunnings servers? Yet?

    • +2

yeah same here, no emails or order confirmations. Waiting for a good ol cancellation email

  • -1

This deal reminds me of "I was at the gym and hmmm… it was a Leg day…" If YKYK ;)

  • +1

damm you guys really smashed it and its OOS lol

  • +3

Inspired by this deal (for when it gets refunded), does anyone know of any other good deals for a squat rack, bar, bench and plates for home?

    • I kitted myself out with equipment from these guys many years back, https://rawfitnessequipment.com.au/ Prices still seem pretty competitive, their EPDM rubber tiles are great too

    • +2

check lifespan fitness, very affordable, good equipment.

    • +3

Honestly for plates and bar you can get great second hand ones from gumtree. For rack it really depends what fits in your space. As long as it's a full rack it's gonna take 200kg which is more than than the average punter can lift, just make sure the safety's aren't those thin bars. You pay extra for things like the frame not moving 2mm every time you rack, half height spacing near the bottom for bench, …

  • +1

Soon enough you won't be able to find any hardware items at bunning.

    • +1

Why? This item isn't sold by Bunnings, it's from a marketplace seller.

  • +1

Ok bargain fam, this has got me hyped up about power rack and the chance of this landing is squat jack. So throw some good deals at me which have a chance of getting fulfilled

  • Took the leap. Let's see.

  • Look at the pics on the official website. Build looks very flimsy. Would not trust it on heavy weights 200kg+

    • +1

Are people really pressing 200 kg on their legs?

      • +12

        well above that yeah

        • How come they aren't all walking around with bulked legs? I'm not a gym person so just curious. I largely do my own single leg type strengthening work with a TRX and a kettlebell.

          • @dinglejerry: The sled of the leg press is on a ramp.

          • +1

@dinglejerry: i mean the average bloke does an 80kg leg press every time they stand up, legs are pretty stronk. hack squat machine like this, an intermediate level 80kg male can press 155kg, while elite can press 300kg.
on the sled leg press those numbers are much higher since you don't have to add your own bodyweight to the amount you're pressing

            • +3

@Balmaino: Yeah, that makes sense. I guess it’s the mechanics of the exercise.

      • I'm probably going to need a press for each leg.

      • i use to lift well above that….mind you i use to be a fatty weighing nearly 140kg, so adding came from being a fatty weighing nearly 140, so lifting 1.5x my weight was no problem.

      • Yep.

      • I'm weak af and can push that. My legs are basically the only muscles I ever use.

        • Yeah I guess I felt bad because with my TRX and doing single leg squats etc I am using 15kg weight haha… but then I realised the mechanics are very different.

      • Quadriceps Femoris is a very strong muscle.

      • i single leg press 260 kg
i havent done double leg press in ages, but i was 500kg from memory

The entire brixx fitness inventory has been pulled from marketplace now.

There was 3 pages of stuff.

    • +19

i bet they were sh!ting brixx

    • +9

      Its Brixxit all over again!

  • +3

3 hours and still no confirmation email.

    • +1

Same here and I used guest checkout! Lucky I took a screenshot of the order numbers

    • I think its pretty scummy that the marketplace system that is in place doesn't record the order and email the details of the order after the payment is processed.
If you don't screenshot your order its basically vapour until something happens on the other end. So it would be pretty difficult to even quote an order number for support if you take it granted that its going to show up in your order list.

Bunnings really needs to do better.

      • Can't argue with this. So many scams around and yet the retailers are doing nothing to help consumer confidence.

      • Paypal has all the details but if you paid via another method RIP

        • I didn't take a screenshot… :( am i cooked?

          • +1

@Bonemusher: Yeah man, no screenshot means you've lost your money forever. Thats definitely how it works.

  • +1

    No way they honour this.

    Great deal.

    Leg day everyday.

    • +1

I mean, as long as you're able-bodied and can walk, leg day is indeed every day.

  • Oh, I didn't see the power rack in the description. Was looking for one, any recommendations with bar and weights that won't break the bank anyone?

    • It's okay, it's unlikely they will honour it anyway, seeing as they have removed all their items off the marketplace - not just the obvious price errors.

And I say that as someone who made an order with zero expectations it will be honoured - even more now since they got rid of all their listings.

    • If/when my BRIXX comes i'll give you a good deal

  • Is bunnings marketplace like catchoftheday or like the Woolworths marketplace thing?

    • think Amazon

  • Why so many upvotes?

Does Bunnings give out vouchers with marketplace cancellations?

  • Has anyone had any confirmation or otherwise from Bunnings? I paid via CC, and think it might be tough to charge back without an order number.*

    *If need be

    • +1

Well, they took the money, they're going to have to figure out a plan for refunding it. My guess is that they'll consolidate all these transactions and organise a bulk email / refund action first thing next week. It would look pretty ugly if they have to handle the hundreds of charge-backs otherwise.

    • Didn't get it neither. Whenever I buy online I always keep the confirmation page open until I confirm they sent me an email with the order number. It never came in this case, so I saved a screenshot of that confirmation page instead, which had the order number.

    • No it won't

  • +5

    Also known as a clotheshorse
    to the OzBargainer demographic.

  • Did we win this one?
It would be a massive gain.

  • Anyone received a confirmation email yet? Been a full day and nothing. I was an idiot and didn’t take a screenshot of my order so I literally have nothing to go off

    • The money would have come out of somewhere and they will be able to see the payment. It will be slower but that can be used.

No confirmation for me either and it's not in my order history.

  • +1

Anyone tried asking Bunnings AI 🤣

  • +1

    Any updates gang?

    • They are refunding people who skip leg days.

    • +1

      Zilch.

      • +3

        Yes?

  • No confirmation email…

  • Nothing here either

  • +1

    Still nothing.

  • +2

I did the AI chat thing yesterday and they texted me this morning.

They told me that they can see 2 payments attempted but not captured.

This means the funds did not make it to them and therefore an order was not made, they sincerely apologise.

The funds are being held by your bank and will be refunded automatically within 7 days.

They recommend clearing my cache and trying before replacing the order.

    • This is what they told me too. I guess i’ll wait for the transaction to disappear from my bank account.

      • +1

I paid by Paypal. Payment clearly went through with an invoice number assigned. Payment is marked as completed. They will have to go through the trouble of physically refunding it…

        • Same here, when there’s doubt: use Paypal

          • @Lionheart: Personally I'd rather have the pending transaction disappear after 7 days automatically, than having to potentially wait for them to manually refund and or needing to put in a dispute via PayPal after the window to open one passes, then waiting additional time for seller to respond.

        • +1

I used Afterpay and it definately went through also.

          • @AmperSand: Rookie move on my behalf. Let us know how they deal with the afterpay and paypal purchases.

  • +1
    • What do you mean?

      • +5

No weights or bar. Standard price

    • +1

That looks about standard price for subpar gym equipment.

  • My legs are so sore from all the leg pressing I've been doing with mine.

  • -1

Did anyone get any confirmation email? 2 days later and still nothing

    • +2

Wait until Monday or Tuesday, Heard of weekends?!

      • Never heard of weekends, what are they?

      • -2

        Chinese scammers don't get weekends

  • So when's the refunds or cancellations happening?

  • Chatted to Bunnings via the online chat and they say order failed. will get refund soon?
