    • Thanks, updated.

No problem - thanks for reposting the deal after the price drop, I was waiting to purchase at $109 and glad I waited! :)

  • Damn it I ordered this 3 days ago for $109 with the discount!

    • i bought one on Thurs…but they haven't sent it… might see if i can cancel.

      • That’s my plan too. I got an email on Friday to say that sending it has been delayed so will use that as leverage to cancel and reorder.

        • That seems to be standard with Catch Connect. The delayed email is just part of the ordering process for whatever reason. No idea why it takes them so long to ship the SIM cards, it's not like they're waiting on stock or anything, surely.

  • Doh, bought yesterday

  • +1

What's the quickest/easiest way to make use of this if I'm already with Catch?

    • +3

Port out using $2 Telstra SIM card and port back in.

      • i have been doing the same thing. that also adds one month to my 365 days plan and i am not in hurry to port out and port in.

    • +2

If you can be bothered, buy a sub $7 sim, port to that carrier for 28 days then port into catch after

  • +3

I bought the ‘last chance’ deal a month ago for $119 and lamented it a week later when there was another ‘last chance’ deal for $109.

    • 🤣 This could be the "last chance" as the plan is not available to new customers from 28/01/25 11:59pm AEDT. I checked with Catch Connect.

    • +6

Last chance to pay $119, then last chance to pay $109, Last chance to pay $99 now

      • They used to called catch of the day… so Last chance for the day at that price…. Come back tomorrow you will see an even lower prices.

    • For those who gone through boost last chance deals, …

  • +1

    Last chance ??? Joke.

    • +1

      Of course 🤣

    • and rugs are the punch-line?

      • +1

        Or House!

  • how does this work? grandmother is on a $35 prepaid month thing with Optus, she has asked me to look for a 1year package

can we keep her number? how hard would it be to do this? thanks

    • +1

You can port out when you activate online via your Catch account. To port, a 6-digit OTP will be sent to your grandma's phone to validate the port out request.

      • i'm still alittle confused, she is already an optus member with a PREPAID she would like to keep the number, this is powerd by OPTUS, would i still be able to switch her to this package when the sim arrives and keep that number?

i have my mother who may buy one aswell but she doesnt care if she loses her phone number can i buy 2 of them under the same CATCH ACCOUNT?
very sorry for my confusion i appreciate u responding

        • +3

Catch uses Optus's network, but you can still port the same number you currently have with Optus to Catch Connect. It's similar to the arrangement between Telstra and Boost.

You can purchase two SIM cards. Once you receive them, create two separate accounts at https://catchconnect.com.au/home/page/login (not https://www.catch.com.au/): one for your mom and another for your grandmother. This will allow you to activate the SIM cards separately. Both your mom and your grandmother can keep their current numbers when they switch to Catch Connect.

          • +1

@Ted0525: awesome, i do appericate that so much will place an order now

  • so how's the reception tagging onto the optus network?

    • Could be better…

  • I can find any catch gift card now. Not in prezzee, bupa life rewards, macquarie

    • +1

not sure if u heard but catch is being shut down so makes sense not to sell their gift cards

    • +1

You won't find Catch gift cards as they ceased selling gift cards on 21st January 2025 due to their closure at the end of April. The closure of Catch doesn't affect Catch Connect Mobile.
Not sure if you can use Catch gift cards anyway. May need the app.

      • +2

        Yeah worked via the app.

Also Reward Gateway still has 8% off instant egift cards for whoever has access through their employer, etc.

        Paid $91.08.

        • @zzyss Someone said above that you have to pay via credit card for the code to apply. Can you please confirm that you were able to apply the code and pay via giftcard ?

          • @Arsi: No The balance was $0 and I didn't have any other payment method specified. Maybe it had my details from a previous order, but I didn't select anything for this order.

  • No 5G yeah? Might be ported to another MVNO in the future I suppose

  • -1

How does the work with Catch going out of business soon?

    • +1

Catch Connect Mobile is not owned by Catch and is run separately - https://catchconnect.com.au/home/page/catchclosure

      • +1

this page has a "nice" loop that semi amused me for a while.
There is a 'click here for more info' link.
Guess what page that link goes to…..

    • -2

Ffs, people do not read ! Read!

      • +3

Easy dude. It's a valid question. The whole point of a forum is to help and inform others. R U OK?

      • My bad

  • Catch GC is fine?

      • You're right - no option for Catch GC in Prezzee Superswap. That's ethical of Catch but also a loss for our bargaining.

  • So, our plans with boost run out end February.
    1. Buy this today and wait to activate until end feb.

Just confused with end new customer 28th.

    • +1

No longer available to buy after 28/01/25. Once you have bought, you can activate anytime within 24 months of purchase so end of Feb will be fine to activate.

      • Hang on,,
What does this mean ? "You must activate your chosen prepaid plan on catchconnect.com.au or on the Catch Connect App within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised on the promotion (whichever is earlier)."

        Terms and conditions

You must activate your chosen prepaid plan on catchconnect.com.au or on the Catch Connect App within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised on the promotion (whichever is earlier). Additionally, you must activate your Catch Connect SIM card within 24 months of purchase, otherwise the SIM card will be cancelled and any credit associated with it will be forfeited. Not transferable or redeemable for cash. You must be aged at least 14 years to purchase a prepaid service with Catch Connect.

        • Yeah, this was the confusing bit.

        • Explained here.

        • I'm pretty sure you need to activate the plan within 30 days of purchase. So if you buy it today, you will need to activate it by 26th Feb. The 24 months is only for the sim card. This wording is confusing.

          • +4

            @ifreddo: Have a read here.
Activate within 30 days for bonus inclusions but there are none with this offer. Hence activate within 24 months.

          • @ifreddo: Wtf r u talking about.

            • @Mydc5r: Why are you so upset?

            • @Mydc5r: I am on my periods. So when people not making sense it pisses me off.

              • @Mydc5r: You just replied to yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

          • +1

@ifreddo: Also confirmed with the rep, activate within 24 months.

  • +1

Bought 3. 8% giftcard at SmartSpending, but you need to pay a minimum $100 via credit card or PayPal to apply the SALE10 code.

    • Is it the same using the Catch app?

    • @chewkl so you had to pay $100 via Credit Card and $197 via gift card ?.

  • can it be used as a recharge for an existing 120gb plan?

    • +1

Not for recharge. You need to port out and then port back in.

  • D'oh, I bought a new sim JUST before the Catch shutdown announcement.

Can I buy this as credit and apply it in 12 months time? Or is it available to new customers only?

    • For new customers. You can buy this but you will have to port out and then port back in (in 12 months time).

  • +1

Thanks, ordered. Hopefully no further price drops…though I did get this for $89 last year.

    • 🤣 I'm feeling FOMO as I'm a Telstra customer. Last chance!

      • HODL!

        • Maybe $89 tomorrow but I'll still be with Telstra. Lol

  • wtf bought $109 few weeks ago still not activated yet

  • Thanks. I paid 109 dollars a few weeks ago. Does the activation date occur on the day of port in request or the day of service activation? My kogan expires tonight and I started port in to catch but it won't happen until tomorrow due to public holiday today.

    • +1

Does the activation date occur on … the day of service activation?

  • Catch or Everyday with $42+ spend a month at WWs?

  • Do they have the same MVNO performance as Amaysim? ie exactly same download speeds & reception

  • +1

    Ty op, got 2.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Already bought one not too long ago, but will buy another (or two) to top it up in a year (or 2) with a $2 Telstra SIM.

    • Won’t the sim expire after 365 days from the purchase date?

  • My 28 days sim runs out on the 29th.

Is there still enough time to switch to Catch? If it's already expired, can I still port my number over?

  • anyone got problem applying the code ? i got "Invalid Promo Code" error when applying SALE10. Yes i've already logged in.

  • My daughter has CatchConnect which will expire on 04March2025.
If I post her number to someone else for a month and then can I port it back to CatchConnect in April?
Or is there any min period for CatchConnect when such re-porting is not allowed?
    Please let me know. Thanks.

    • Porting has no limitations

      • Thank you @Mydc5r Now I need to find a cheap one month temp card (preferably which has better value with cashback).

        • You can port out with $2 Telstra SIM and port back in.

          • @trixieb: Thanks @trixieb I was just looking at other deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/890163
but seems Telstra $2 SIM is cheap and fast, right?

            • @bluespider: The Lebara SIM is another option if you want to try the Vodafone network for a month. Otherwise other OzBargainers have used the $2 Telstra SIM.

              • @trixieb: Once you do the $2 port out. Can you still make calls or receive text while waiting to port in to another carrier?

Also can do port in straight after or wait 24/48hrs?

                • +1

@freeb1e4me: Someone commented it took 5 mins.
Best to port in and out during their working hours so not on a public holiday etc.

  • Order Cancelled
    Dear Blazing147,
We regret to inform you that your recent purchase from Catch.com.au (Order: C70000000) did not meet our payment verification standards, resulting in your order being cancelled. At Catch, we adhere strictly to comprehensive payment verification protocols to ensure the security of transactions, and these measures are in place to protect our customers and ensure the integrity of our transactions.

I've tried two different accounts, three different cards, card and paypal. Nothing is going through. Anyone else having the same issue? It even ate the discount code so I can't use it anymore.

    • There were issues with ANZ cards.

      • +1

I tried with commbank, ubank, ing and wise. In the end I asked another family member with a different account and ordered it to their address which seemed to work. No idea what the issue really is. Same address? Previously purchased on the account?
