Can we access Telstra plus using Boost number? It used to be sometime ago, but not sure now? Can someone confirm please? TIA

    • +2

I tried a few months back but I couldn't gain access with my Boost account.

    • I assume you mean do you earn Telstra Plus points on Boost?
      Then no.

Nothing to stop you accessing Telstra Plus afaik though. Or do you mean via the app?

      • Sorry, I mean you should have Telstra number to login to Telstra plus.
Looks like we can't using Boost number

        • If you already have a TelstraID you can still login to TelstraPlus.
Not sure what you then want to do, as you won't be earning any extra points?

  • Boost has taken ages to payout on TCB. my latest one has been on confirmed status since 21 Nov 2024

    • As per poster's comment ….."FYI: It takes around 12 weeks for cashback to arrive.". So you have about another month before it is due for payment.

      • Purchase was made on the 21 Sep 2024

        • try contact TA.
I purchased one on 5 Sep and received mine on 13 Nov.

        • Interesting, I've already claimed mine that was purchased on the same date. Maybe try contacting TA?

    • +1

same here my order didn't even track and I had to open a claim, only getting canned responses from TCB since october

  • +2

TopCashback never seems to track properly. I was supposed to get $105 back from the SL deal and it never tracked. I'd use ShopBack or CR if you want to see your money.

    • I also joined SL during Black Friday and my $70 cashback tracked within 24 hours.
Estimated Payable in 20 Weeks thou.

      • Not sure what happened with mine. I followed the steps to the T, even filed a missing cashback claim and have heard nothing. Would love if a rep could help out.

        • Hey! Sorry to hear of the failed tracking with SL. There's so many reasons this could have happened so here are some tips I generally spruik with my posts. Note that Honey has been in the news quite a bit lately and it's one to be careful with:

For tracking success, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from TopCashbackAU as tracking will be lost. TopCashbackAU must be the very last click/tap prior to purchase. Try our iOS/Android mobile app for improved tracking results. Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions, issues, or claims.

Per the instructions on the email you initially received when lodging your claim, there is nothing further for you to do and there will be no follow-up from us unless we need to. We will reach out to you again only if we require more information.

You can keep track on the progress of your claim via this link:

          https://www.topcashback.com.au/account/enquiries/missingcash…

Hope this helps, and please have a wonderful day ahead :)

Same thing happened to me. To a stage that I'm hesitate to purchase with Topcashback. I have 4-5 outstanding claims that are taking months to "wait for the retailer". Pretty frustrating stuff

          • +2

@wouldntpaythat: Same experience for me. Joined to take advantage of a Boost deal which didn't track. Filed a claim ages ago and heard nothing. Amazon Black Friday cashback only partially tracked too.

Not much point beating SB/CR by a small amount if they have constant tracking issues. Never had a single issue with the competitors.

At this point it seems to be part of the TC business model.

  • keep getting "something went wrong…" even I changed to use my partner's number, manual address etc, anyone experienced the same and any solution to that?
been like this for the last few months everytime try to make a purchase from boost or to activate my sim card.

    • +2

Probably because you abused their offer and they decided to kick you out.
I've been ordering 1 sim/month for a few years without any issue.

      • Hi Asuka.. were all of your monthly sims over the years always new numbers, or had you ported some out/in after paid cashbacks? It's just that I remember reading stuff like if someone had too many sim/numbers activated in their name that they could possibly be flagged on some government lists and cause other issues (not just with telcos). I've been holding back from accumulating new numbers too frequently after I saw a few threads claiming that. But maybe it was just speculation by some conspiracists that I should have ignored haha, I dunno.

        • +1

some are new, some are porting in/out
A number is no longer under your name and recycled 6 months after your plan expired.
I never had more than 7 numbers under my name.

      • I was able to buy one last month but got declined this time around.

        https://checkout.boost.com.au/consumer/boost/error#decline
Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

I wonder if changing NBN provider, ie different IP address triggered their anti-fraud software?

    • +1

Very common. It's an anti-fraud step and applies to your address, ID's and emails. Once you get it it's very annoying.

You likely have to call them to get activated or purchase.

      • call boost is not an option as I won't be able to get the cash back. I think I may have to leave boost for the time being.

        • Yep annoying. It came in last year, never used to have this issue.

  • Anyone know of a good eSIM deal?

    • +3

You can convert to eSIM after activating the physical one. I did it last month.

  • can anyone confirm if not recharging but not porting out will ensure you get the cash back?

    • +4

yes, that's what everyone is doing.

  • Thanks OP - my purchase tracked right away

  • Title should say 50gb right?

  • Has anyone’s Lyca mobile profit from November hit payable yet?

    • Nope, I think I remember TA saying something about Lyca cancelling a lot of peoples cashback between a certain period in early November but I completely forgot what it said exactly.

    • +1

Nope. The latest message from TopCashback was on 22 Nov 2024
      "Hi there,

This is just a quick message to let you know that your claim has been submitted to the retailer.

You don't need to do anything for now. Please note that sometimes claims can take a few weeks to get reviewed as we have to wait for the retailer’s response. We will keep you informed as soon as we have an update for you.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support"

  • +2

Top cashback is very strict with the 30 day activation. So, make sure to keep in mind or you get no cashback.

    • +2

      also:

must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.

      • +1

That’s a shame if you are a sim slut and port out once the recharge expires which is typically before cashback is approved. IIRC Cashrewards didn’t have this requirement

        • +1

@AsukaST said if you don't recharge and don't port out the number, it still works.

          • +2

@wisdomtooth: Yep, so a no go if you want to keep your main number without recharging

            • +1

@Anthonese: Yeah, nah, personally I use these mobile plan cashback deals on secondary SIMs I use just for data, so I don't care about the number. And for the primary SIM, I get the cheapest prepaid annual one that works where I live, without much care for data. I currently use WWs/Everyday for the monthly 10% off on groceries.

  • +1

Two orders from October bought through CR, ported straight out after the 28 days were up now approved, same as two orders from August.

    • +1

CR don't/didn't have the same T&C's as TopCashback. No guarantee your cashback will be approved if you don't stick to the T&C's.

  • +7

Who remembers the good ol' days?

  • +1

Getting the 'Sorry, something went wrong' message when attempting to pay

    • Same. I get We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.
Been trying since yesterday. Me being overseas at the moment might have something to do with it, and using a VPN for Aus won't get me onto Boost Mobile site.

  • Thanks, tracked in 5 mins.

    • Where do you see that? Under earnings?

      • +1

They sent me an email saying it's tracked. Then when i login i go to earnings and there's a line item for Boost with today's date and $11 pending.

        • Thanks. I bought the Everyday one yesterday through them, no tracking so far.

  • -1

IMHO, it is not worth it. Why take the risk with cashback and wait for months if one can get an anual sim for a similar amount (e.g., recent Catch Mobile deal) yes, I understand that this is a bit cheaper… Potentially cheaper… If there is no reaction on deals like this Boost might offer something better.

    • +2

if one can get an annual sim for a similar amount

      When paying $4/m, that's $48/year with 600GB/ year.
Please find me a similar deal.

      • -3

It is a monthly deal not an annual deal. So you would have to faff around every month with it, so it is not $48 a year, it is $4 a month roughly. Catch Connect - on top of being an annual deal (set and forget for a year) was around $8 a month on an annual package (one coffee a month more). But that is just what was available most recently.

  • Tracked

  • Ordered: 18:20
    Tracked: 18:22

  • -2

Why is the cost (after money-back) going up…$4 for 50Gb seems on the high-end since 2023, with more profit deals in that year, lol.

Hold until Boxing day sales, 26-Jan ?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/boost%20profit%20ca…

    • Thanks OP for the effort.

    • -2

Ozbargainers are wide & vast…including ignorance?

Here is a recent deal that did NOT get traction, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/880268.

      11 days later, a RE-placement deal was posted, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/883058

Can you guess which deal people bought…including me. Maybe MIS-information live @ OzBargain 🤔

      • 88 votes and 2 pages of comments is hardly "no traction".

    • My bad…Australia Day sales.

  • -2

Cashrewards offers 11.50 now, so 50c more

    • That's a different SIM (65GB). For this SIM (50GB), it's $9.50 cashback at Cashrewards.

  • This deal is back on again.

  • not good for porting

    • Good as 2nd SIM for data

  • -1

    https://cellpoint.com.au/shop/boost-mobile-230-prepaid-sim-s…

$199 for $230 Sim with 170GB at Cellpoint. Just ordered one :)

    • You're better off getting a cheaper annual prepaid plan with less data, and using these next to free starter packs for data on the 2nd SIM. Better yet, if you use an annual plan that you can roll over and gift data like WWs/Everyday Mobile.

  • TCB tnc says "must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable." If the cashback takes 12 weeks does it mean that I have to recharge for 2nd and 3rd month at $39/month? So the total cost will be $15 + $39 + $39 - $11 cashback?

    • +2

Deactivated as in cancelled or you port out. If you simply don't renew after the first month then cost is $15-$11=$4.

      • Yep, good for data on a new random number, not for calls to your main number.

  • +1

Ordered on 15 January and delivered to Perth metro on 20 January. Boost Mobile always seems to deliver its SIM cards efficiently (for me)

  • -1

how long do we need to wait before a cashback is payable?
