    Is this a genuine SIHOO?

    • +18

You made this exact same sorry excuse for a joke in the last thread. Maybe get a hobby.

        • +4

Yeah, -1 by someone who got upset after I asked them about their non existent EV fire stats that they still haven't provided. I wonder who is petty and lonely enough to go through my posts and minus them all?

        Only in the last thread?

        This is jv's hobby.

      Yoohoo! It's a sihoo

  • +4

Not sure about the specs, but looks like the SIHOO M102C-M101 Ergonomic Office Chair from Amazon has more adjustments.

I would buy from Amazon to get free delivery as I don't have Costco membership.

    • +1

The benefit of buying it from Costco is if you have an issue years down the track you can take it in and they'll likely sort you out. You could also test it for a month or two and then take it back if it doesn't suit

      • +1

This is true - I bought a chair from them that had a fake leather covering.
After a year or two, it started peeling, so I took it back and was given a full refund.

        • did you have the original receipe or did they track the purchase via your costco card?

          • +2

@prankster: I had a similar situation with a sofa. I called to see if it could be fixed, they said they'd just send a truck and refund me. Easy, no receipt, no hassles.

    • hmm, that one on amazon looks like it may have alot thinner/worse seat padding from the pics

    • Yep, just set mine up yesterday for a few bucks less: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/888689
      Great so far.
Only thing better with the M18 is it has height adjustable arm rests. There's no other reason to get it otherwise.

    • +2

I had both. I returned the m102c to Amazon. They are not in the same ball park quality wise. The m18 has a lower back though so maybe not as good if 6 foot or taller.

      • Height adjustment is shit too.

  • Any specials on the M12 version? Don't need the 18V torque.

  • +2

Not sure about the m18, but I have the M57 and it is quite good.

    • +2

I have to agree. After having the M57 for about a year now, there's nothing to complain about. Great quality and make! Worth the money IMO!

  • I have the Amazon version which I think was around $280. I'm very happy with it.

  • +1

What about the Colamy Atlas? It's super highly rated

  • -2

Anybody up voting this chair must have good bones - for now anyway!

    • +4

why's that? coming up to 3.5 years on this chair and i'm loving it. what's the issue?

  • +2

But is this as good as Herman Miller Aeron chair? /s

    • +4

TBH I prefer my Sihoo M18 to my HM Mirra 2.

      • +1

How dare you saying a cheap chair is better than the mighty Herman Miller chair?! ;-p

  • +2

The chair is comfortable if you’re under 6 foot. I have it and the back is slightly small for your back. Otherwise it’s good quality.

  • Can't believe I bought this around $300 on Amazon. The chair is pretty comfortable but the neck support sucks, I've since been using the chair without the neck rest.

    • how are the armrests?

      • +6

I thought you'd be more interested in the seat/cushion @mr_asstight, no?

      • Arm rests are comfortable, not cushion of course but the same softness of a premium car dashboard. Adjustments have a nice click and are smooth as if it's been oiled with the finest lubricant.

  • Any with a mesh base on the chair? That's important for comfort.

    • +1

Yeah, the M57 has a mesh base. Recently got one and happy with the chair.

  • Probably worth mentioning it's not a good chair for tall/long legged people

  • Any one has experience with SIHOO M59AS? It seems to be a recent model with more adjustments.

  • I have been recommending this chair to all my friends. $149 with foot rest.

Has been extremely comfortable and feels solid. Only complaint is that it only comes up to 10 deg upright (so you can't have your hip flexed at 90 or less).
But good lumbar and upper back support!

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ergolux-ez11-high-back-mesh-off…

    • can you assemble it without the footrest? Footrest one is $10 cheaper

  • +1

Great chair brand I got the M57!

  • +1

This looks like a really good deal, curious what would be reccomended for a more expensive price point (around $600 maximum)? Would be willing to wait if it goes down in price

    • +4

There is no mid market for office chairs imo. There's cheap and shit, or there's expensive as hell and good. Gaming chairs come close to filling the middle ground but they are a bit naff (I say this having one). There are ones priced as mid I guess but they are shit too.

      • +1

There is no mid market for office chairs imo

or you can go to a second hand office furniture store and get a $800 chair for $80

        • any reccomendations? Im in Sydney and would happily buy second hand

          • @Bigbanger666: I only know of a couple in melbourne…

Have a look on Google maps and read reviews.

Don't buy online. Go to the store and check out the quality and cleanliness first.

            • @jv: Whats your recommendations for Melbourne?

              • @laney: There’s one out around Bayswater that I went too about a year or two ago that was pretty good.

    • +1

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/brand/ergohuman

I've been using my Ergohuman Fit since 2022. Was not expensive at the time $389 + $40 Cashback and this replaced my creaky old Buro Metro chair

      • Metro is great compared to the rubbish shimoo.

    • Possibly Desky chairs.

  • I find the armrests too high.

    • How tall are you? I am 5' 10" and I find them just fine. The lowest is too low and the highest is uncomfortable, so the middle point is good for me.

      • 165cm. I ended up taking mine off because of that.

  • +2

Rubbish chair for anyone over 180cm and feels flimsy AF. My buro metro had an issue and I couldn’t for the life of me find the receipt. So had to buy another chair. I stupidly thought multi reviews and comments from buyers might be right…nope. POS.Would have returned it but as I bought it from them directly I would have to pay shipment back. Do yourself a favour and go sit on one first, the try other chairs like those from Buro, steel case etc proper task chairs.

    • Thankyou for commenting this before I decided to buy it. Im 193cm and struggle to find a decent fitting office chair.

      • No problem. With your height you’re pretty limited and it would strongly recommend going trying some in store and at home if you can. Will hopefully be buy once, cry once affair.

      • these "big and talls" do the job - 125cm height, 54cm seat width & 69cm arm width https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0DK5CLJLJ/ref=ewc_pr_i…

but its almost impossible to find a chair that fills the upper width if u have yoked shoulders and neck support if you're over 185

  • How is this if you're shorter than 5'4"?

Costco are amazing at processing returns, so definitely a plus if you're deciding between this or Amazon.

    • +1

I'm around 5'3 and a different chair I have from the same brand is just fine for me. Apparently there are issues for some taller people with this brand, but shorter people should be fine.

  • +3

If you're taller than 5'10", its not the best chair, and you should probably look at something else. I am 5'7" (172cm), and the headrest barely works for me.

For the price I paid ~300, its pretty good and I dont have any regrets really with the chair.

  • +1

Anyone have recommendations for a chair for people over 6 foot? I am 6"2 snd in the market for a chair

    • +1

Check Ahnestly's videos on chairs, he does height ranges and budgets for chairs.

  • I've got the M57 from this brand and I really like it. The mesh stuff they use is really comfortable, easy to clean, and it lets air through so it's nice and cool in summer. It's very adjustable and it feels high quality. As chairs go, it's not too expensive, and definitely worth the extra money if you're looking at this vs slightly cheaper chairs. I bought a cheaper one before this and it wasn't that comfortable and the lumbar support broke in less than a year.

  • that's my chair.

  • Looks like its out of stock, I am getting check out error. Sorry, there is insufficient stock for your cart.

  • Am I getting outright fleeced if I choose to pay ~$275 for this? In need of a chair and did a bit of research on this model that I can't really be stuffed doing again.

    • Yea

      • OK thank you for knocking some sense into me

        • Thank you come again

  • Has anyone received their chair yet?

    • Nah

    • I ordered two in two separate orders for separate invoices. I received one less than a week later and still waiting for the second.

      • No updates on delivery either.
