*For those that are seeking a $200 code there are some in the chat that have had success by asking the JBHIFI live chat and tell them that you lost the $200 code in your email, there are some that have received the $200 code a day later in their email as it seems they’ve added them in to send a code.

$1700 off the new s25 Ultra with the $99 p/m jbmobile plan if you port in.

Plan : $237 ($437 without code) + $99 p/m over 24 months.

If you cancel: $237 + $800 + $99 =$1,136 ($1037 if you can get first months charge refunded)., you will need to pay the voucher repayment fee as stated in terms

Voucher Repayment Fee

6.2 If you received a JB Hi-Fi Voucher when you purchased your Mobile Service and you cancel
that Mobile Service within any applicable Voucher Term, you must pay us the outstanding
amounts for the JB Hi-Fi Voucher you received for the cancelled Mobile Service (the Voucher
Repayment Fee).

6.3 The Voucher Repayment Fee is a pro-rata amount, equal to the total amount of the base
Voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by the months (or part months) remaining in your
Voucher Term.

Max cancellation fee is $800. The $99 first months charge In past deals I’ve usually got this refunded though if you’re really nice, but be aware in case if you are unable to get the $99 refunded. T&C: https://www.telstra.com.au/help/critical-information-summari…

Also keep in mind this deal is for porting in your number, so if you’re planning to cancel you could get a $5 Aldi sim and port in with that.

  • Pre-ordered on the 4th, not yet received the collection text :(

Anyone else in a similar boat?

    • Worth giving them a call maybe they received the stock but haven’t got around to contacting you.

    • Go into store - I hadn't received text but went in and reception told me that if I hadn't received it most likely wasn't ready - I asked her to have a look as I heard other people were getting it without texts and moments later, guess what - the phone was ready.

Went into JB yesterday, got the phone and the refund all went very smoothly via the Telstra chat, including the $99 refund.
Massive thank you to the community here that take the time to comment and answer questions. Made the process very easy. Cheers!

      Hi @NeverLoseSight

      How did you get refund.

I signed up yesterday, tried two different consultants on Telstra chat both kept rubbing jbhifi plan's TC&cs on my face.

I even chatted to one supervisor, he said same then sent me email saying sorry we couldn't help you to give you refund, you can contact TIO if you are not happy with the outcome

I haven't cancelled service yet as I thought if I cancel before them agreeing for refund of $99, I wouldn't be able to do it later.

      Any guidance is appreciated mate

      • Hey mate,

When I was on the Telstra chat, I mentioned that I have not yet used the sim, haven't used any data/calls as it is no longer needed. I stated my work is supplying us phones next week, free of charge to employees so this plan is no longer needed.

I then asked if I cancel the plan, is there a termination fee or how does this work (acting a bit dumb to get some information out - makes you look like this isn't preplanned).

They went through and said yes, the service hasn't been used so the refund will be no issues at all.

However, my friend today has had the same experience you have had. He said he spoke with the JB chat and got the refund though.

Hi, I'm about to go to JB tomorrow, I got an Aldi Burner Sim and activated it, I received the sms already but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put the card in my phone to actually "activate" it. Anyone knows if I can just go in without using the card? Also, if we're meant to cancel with Telstra, does that mean we don't have to ask/mention to the JB salesperson about the refund fee? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. 😊

      • Oh! Thanks for the heads up! Just waiting on my luck to receive the 200 bucks voucher. When I purchase the phone, can I just pretend like I'm going through with the plan and not ask about cancelling? Or do I have to confirm with the sales person how much the fee is to cancel the plan?

        • +1

Do not mention anything about cancellation to them

          • @CodeXD: Awesome! So just to confirm, put the Aldi sim card in my phone to port the number, get them to use my current phone number for contact purposes, don't mention anything about cancelling, get home and cancel through Telstra? Thanks a bunch for the advices!

  • Put the phone up on marketplace at $1700 brand new, sealed without a single bite. I know the market is saturated, but is there really NO demand for this phone from anyone?? haha

    • It's been up for less than 24 hours and you're already complaining? Lol marketplace want you to pay for exposure so it might not have reached those looking for it yet.

Some ads look spamming where they don't have an actual photo of the product, not even box, and only use stock photos from manufacturer website. I instantly ignore those

      • Exactly, fwiw, I'm keeping my s24 ultra. No need to upgrade especially with reduced Spen features. This S25 phone essentially is an S25+ phone now. It's lost its unique Bluetooth Spen functionality.

Any new features will most likely come across to the S24 in the next update.

          • @G-rig: Fair enough. If you prefer the feel for basically a free upgrade from S24 ultra why not. Personally I use the Spen function regularly so as i result decided to sell the S25 and keep $600 profit.

    • +3

Its not because there's no demand, but there's too much supply and people are expecting too much value for an Android phone(these might work differently with iPhone, but you won't be able to get it in the first place). These kind of pre-order deal keep coming every ~3-4 months for every new released phone, surely most buyers from Ozbargain keep buying phones to re-sell not for personal use. Its still a very good profit for the amount of work that you put in, lets say you sell the phone quickly for $1400 you still have $400 profit for around half day of work.

    • Would you pay $1700 for it when you can still pre-order it for less within this deal? Probably why.

    • gah i was looking at selling too. doesnt sound like its as easy to sell as iphone! zzz

Cancelled my Plan and got the Refund for Plan ($99) as well.

      • Got it refunded via jbhifi mobile chat. Telstra chat was useless.
Step 1 will be cancelling your phone plan.
Just told them I have not even taken sim card out. So they did refund it :)

    How long does JBchat take

    Bookmarked 🙂👌❤️

Wow 17 pages to go through, anyone have a short short summary lolz 😆

  • Went in today , preordered the s25 ultra asked for a jet black, guy went out the back and got my phone .

He gave me a SIM card and the phone and I ended up paying $437 - wasn’t asked to pay the $99 , no coupon unfortunately.

He mentioned I needed to activate the sim or the service would be automatically cancelled .

I have an email from Optus saying sorry we are loosing you and Telstra welcome.

Went to my Telstra account the service isn’t there

Anyone else had this scenario ?

Btw anyone that has an ESim compatible phone, I signed up to Optus eSIM for free through there Optus app , no need to go get a physical sim u less you have old phones

    • Something doesn't add up. Before they give you the voucher for the discount you need to put your CC details and run the credit check.
If that doesn't happen then there's been a serious error along the way by the sounds.

      • He probably had his CC details already saved from a previous jb telstra deal

      • Mine? I already had a Telstra account with the credit card it just had to be updated , but I haven’t been charged for a month yet, do they take it out when the phone is active?

  • anyone have an actual photo of Titanium Silver?

      • Yeah, only so much YouTube shows.

JB had only blue and grey in the S25 ultra

    • I have the titanium grey & the titanium white silver. Both of them look absolutely stunning, grey looks more sleeker and stealthy white is more flashier but very elegant

Wow wow wow what just happened

I cancelled 2 numbers last week and asked Tesltra to refund $99. I don't how this person screwed up but just received different emails with credit notes:

    1) 2 x $99 refund
    2) 2 x $766.59 credit for ETC which is due in next few days
    3) 1 x $766.59 refund for last year ETC for another plan

I thought it was scam but they are also appearing in Telstra/JB hifi App.

    • That will be lucky if that goes through .

    • Great work!
      Lucky you

    • Lol.
Probably a human error that will be corrected.
The credits have to be approved by a manager as far as im aware.. but hard to justify reversing the credits after they applied them.

    • +1

wow nice thats so lucky, also id be careful about spending the 766 money, even if they mistakenly refunded you that they have every right to get it back. you would be extremely lucky if they let it slide though.

  • So the CIS was updated? Anyone know if the new full-voucher-repayment terms are being enforced or can it still be had for $1037 outright?

    • Who said it has been? Just checked the link from the JB site:

      https://www.telstra.com.au/help/critical-information-summari…

No doubt they will sometime though, otherwise this isn't much of a deal.

      • Yeah it's there in that link:

What happens when I cancel my plan early?

You’ll need to repay Telstra for any vouchers you received when you purchased your plan. The Voucher Repayment Fee (if applicable) is pro-rated, equal to the total amount of the base voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by months (or part months) remaining in your plan term.

        • Still says $800 in the table ¯_(ツ)_/¯

          • @G-rig: Ahhh right, well hopefully still works then.

  • Can I still get the $200 pre-order code? Do I need to sign up to JB Perks?

    • +1

Too late now. Best option is to request a code from the mega thread listed above.

      • Thanks. Is requesting a code using someone else's code they won't be using? Do you just bring it in store?

        • +1

Correct, just advise them you have a $200 pre-release coupon you signed up to fit the S25 series.

          • @Duece1995: Do you think if I walk in to the store and give them the code Galaxy2025 they will accept it?

            • @BluebirdV: No that is Samsung code nothing to do with jb

  • Hi anyone knows if they will be able to post the phone or do we have to pick it up in store? Thanks

      • Thought id ask here first cos that would decide which store i go to. Im in the city today, but my nearest store from home is 1.5 hours away.

          • @G-rig: Ah they have the phone in store so i can just pick it up sweet!

  • +2

Just sold my s23 ultra 512gb Phantom Black to CEX for $849 which is going towards the ETC for the s25U
Not bad for a 2 year old phone

    • +1

You did well! I sold it on FB marketplace for $750 after 2.2 years of use

    • That's a really good deal, how did you get that? anything special? I'm going to try this with my local CEX

      • Who is CEX?

      • Needs to have original box/usb c cable and be in Excellent condition to be classified as A stock

        • Sweet

          Tick tick tick

Will engage them when I get the s25

          • @MonkeyMagic3: You can book online now.
They will honor the price for 3 days (drop off option) or 10 days (delivery option)

I wouldnt wait that long as they could drop the price anytime

    • Only your store will be able to answer that. No point asking OB because each store is different.

  • Did anyone else notice upon cancelling the following:

Say their order number for the contract is "B12345678", when this is cancelled - the order number is completely different numbers, like "B9834792"

In my telstra account activity it was still "in progress" before and after when I cancelled my service.

I only gave them my number to cancel, they don't even ask anything and I didn't even receive a tax invoice either yet….

    • +1

They put it through as a 'cancellation order' so unique to your cancellation.

      • Ahh gotcha thanks for that!

  • For those still going to preorder, providing heads up to ask for costco price match.

Dont want to say store here in case get my jb sales person gets in trouble but she told me JB were price matching costco.

So got the 1tb for 2,399

    • Mine couldn’t as he said they have to sell it to you at RRP as part of the terms

He also sounded like one of the managers as he was asking people what to do

      • Yeah, looks like hit and miss, but my point is you should ask PM regardless. But in the end it's a discretion thing.

        • I asked from 3 stores and they said no

          • @bargaingalor3: I wrnt back to same store yesterday and adked different sales person and she said no orice match, so really comes down to finidng the right sales person

  • Has anyone tested their cameras yet.
Interesting comparison with the S24U against the S25U.

Anyone actually going to be staying on the $99 plan and not cancel it?
The differences from cancelling the plan or reasons to not do this I see as being
-$1400 over 24 months $58~ dollars per month for 300GB p/m telstra network. (compare to $350 for prepaid telstra per year without discounts $700~ over 24 months.. any other plans compare or options you'll be using on the device?)
-being one of the few options that allow esim connections to work on samsung watches with LTE (+$5 a month i recall)
    - Not impacting your credit rating.
    ?good tax deduction

    Anything else I'm missing?

If you're a big user it might be the way, considering it…

      • True, probably a very niche use case for people to be chewing that much data.
I do work/drive remotely a lot so telstra is a must - assume the $160 is voda or optus. quick search seems telstra network can be had for around ~250 on sale per year.

So really paying ~$900 extra for the big data, the watch I can see myself making use of.
The credit rating hit, anyone have issues from this?
        Anything else I missed?
        hmm

    • I’m keeping it for just one reason - its my official number and can claim it to my employer. I barely use it otherwise.

    • I'm keeping it, to offset the extra $99 I cancelled my $99 per month nbn which was very flakey, dropouts daily, and so keeping this as my replacement home internet. Popped the sim from this deal into my Nighthawk 6 Pro 5G router, router now feeds my Eero home mesh. Working perfectly fine so far. No drop outs whatsoever. I use nowhere near 300 gigs per month. If it works well, I'll keep it, if not, I'll just cancel it later and pay the remaining balance of the $800

      • nbn which was very flakey

Sounds like a bandaid solution, what nbn do you have? FTTC? Might be worth seeing if there is any upgrade available. You weren't using 300gb per month due to how bad the nbn was, but now with good internet, you might end up going through it.

        • I cancelled my NBN in Jan, when this deal landed, and with all my other JB Hifi numbers, my main number, wifeys number, and the sim in the car (4 in total now), we have a combined pool of 565GB. Just checked, since I cancelled my NBN, we've used just over 200GB in just under 3 weeks. I think we'll be alright.

More than 600 Mbps down, 60 up, and no drop outs in about 3 weeks. And in 12 months time, I can just cancel this number, as it's just used for data, pay the ~$400 penalty and get the S26 Ultra on the next deal. I'd say it's better than a bandaid solution

I went to the store and bought the phone today. Here is what did.
    - On the jb hifi chat I said, I signed up for the code but it never arrived, my friend did and he got it. I got the code in email after 2 hours.

-Went to the store tell him everything, also I am going to cancel it in first month, he said the maximum repayment is 800, (he also told me that JB hifi upsized that to 1700, so even though you get 1700 voucher it goes down in the policy as 800).
-Applied 200$ voucher I got from chat
    -Got the phone instantly.
-Cancelled my plan while in store after getting my phone. Got the email saying 766.59 charge for cancellation.
-However after cancellation I started a new chat asked for the refund of 99$ but the agent told me I need to wait for 48 hours as the payment just went in today and chat back again for the refund.

Wanted to check if everyone else waited 48 hours to get the refund ? or was able to get it instantly.

    • I cancelled 10hrs after signing up and the guy on the Telstra chat said I'll get the refund, too.
It's still showing as pending in my bank account.
Not sure if that'll work.l but I have the chat reference number just in case.

    • Update: Got the 99$ refund confirmation, will reflect in bank in 3 4 days.

  • Any chance we'll see a better $1000 bonus gift voucher deal? Or is this discount off the phone basically the equivalent

  • Can i ask , where do i cancel my telstra plan, telstra llive chat or jbhifi live chat ?

    • Try jbhifi mobile chat first

  • Has anyone tried purchasing multiple phones and been successful?

  • +1

Just wanted to post to say thanks to many top contributors into this thread, so much helpful information, and some who even go out of there way to help even more so.

Been non stop going through the pages to find key notes, everything one needs is here, so if one is iffy/worried about going through the process, don't be.

I've already cancelled my plan, now just waiting for the phone.

  • What is the amount on the tax invoice at the end of the day? Assuming cancellation?

    • 2137 without code. 1937 with code.

      • This is what you got?

  • Anyone else has issues signing up to multiple accounts after having cancelled their first one?

My mate went in over weekend having signed up to one last week and apparently flagged in system and could not do another. 😂

    • Did his cancellation fee payment clear yet? If not then that's probably why

      • Nah still got 2 weeks for payment to go through

        • Thought you can do 3 connections per person??

          • @Mr RS: Yes you can but you can't owe Telstra any amount , new applications will get rejected. Happened to me 😂

            • @bargaingalor3: Ahhh I see… so when they bring you up it shows you owe 763( or whatever the amount is) and then can’t process?

              • @Mr RS: Yep correct. I spoke to Telstra and jbmobile about it.
The staff at JB store said I won't be able to reapply for a few months and that jbs system won't be able to even open my records to process it. And also said to call Telstra to possibly get the decision reversed. Everything he said was not correct. I paid and asked another branch to check if they can access my records and they could. This other branch even said he can do credit check to see if I can get another without affecting my credit score??? Don't know if that second bit is true

                • @bargaingalor3: First JB mobile said I can reapply whenever. The next jbmobile said 3months but to check in-store
No one knows what's going on 😂😂

        • You can chat jbmobile and tell them to process payment now. Might take a few days to clear. It's dumb how their invoice doesn't have payment details.

          • @bargaingalor3: Ah that sucks… even if did that be too late to sign up to another.

            • @Mr RS: When I got jb staff to check my records, my payment was still pending. He said he thinks it should go through but I opted to wait til next week to be sure. Maybe worth a try whilst payment is pending if your mate wants another phone
