  • I'm not negging the OP, I'm negging the deal. Okay, I take back my comment, and I change it a little. What I said is still true. That screenshot you showed is of the app I use, and I get notified by it on a regular basis (about once per month, as your screenshot shows) that this app is on sale. I think we don't need a post on ozbargain every month that this app goes on sale. Look through the post history and have a look for yourself.

Furthermore, I personally think it's prudent to wait and see if SwiftKey flow is going to be a separate app, or an add-on to this one. They are carefully dodging answering that question. If it's going to be a separate app I'd advise people to wait before purchasing this, seeing as Flow has the capabilities of this, plus swiping.

Well I think Swipe is the worst method of typing on a phone, so I'm more than happy with Swiftkey's current state on my phone and tab

I know a few people that don't like or won't try swiping. Although when I show an iPhone user it, they wish they could get it! I can swype waaaaay faster than type, and im a pretty fast regular keyboard user.

      • Hey thanks for that link, VC. I didn't know they said that. That's definitely good news for everyone who's purchased it. It also gives me more confidence in the company, so maybe I'll buy it when it gets released. I know I'll only have to wait at most 45 days before it goes on sale. ;-)

Fair enough, your original comment could be interpreted either way. In essence both yourself and the OP have valid points. I know I've bought both versions on sale and they do go on sale more frequently than other apps but it's still a pretty decent bit of kit and I think $1.99 is a good deal none the less. One could argue buying it twice (phone+tab version) negates that somewhat but meh…

I have heard whispers about SwiftKey Flow but nothing more, I might look further, it would be a shame if they have yet another app to buy I agree. I'm not big on the swipe method myself so if that's all its bringing to the party I won't get too excited.

I love swiping keyboards. I've used Swype beta extensively, then tried out Swiftkey Flow, and now I'm back onto the newest Android keyboard that has Swiping while Swiftkey Flow gets some bugs worked out. Whether or not I buy it will depend on how polished they make it. And I'll have to be pretty darn convinced to pay for it on a phone AND tablet.

If you have previously purchased either or both version then there is no more spending required.

"Good news for SwiftKey fans, as the company has announced via Twitter that their new ‘Flow’ feature will arrive as an upgrade to SwiftKey 3, rather than as a separate app. This will come as especially good news to those who have purchased both the tablet and phone versions."

I don't know the world of swiping keyboards but presumably if you're only interested in SwiftKey for it's upcoming swipe ability there is probably better (cheaper?) options already available?

      • Yeah VC posted that link before. It's good news. Well, from what I've seen through my use of SwiftKey flow, it's actually got really good potential. There are a few things that really bug me, but there are also a few things I really like about it. We'll see how we go. ;-)
