You had me at Golden Gaytime. Goes well deep fried.

    • +1

      Isn't the "fried" redundant?

      • Not if it goes too deep. Then you'll be fried.

  • Can these be purchased using prepaid cards, specifically the Coles Mastercard gift cards that have the bonus this week?

    • The FAQ linked above suggests this was possible in August, but YMMV.

  • -1

Not tomorrow, but day after tomorrow.

    • +1

      i.e. in 2 days

  • +6

When did that happen that 1/2 price connoisseur sticks come to $6?

Used to be $4.75 about 1 year ago. Then I paid a tad over $5 quite recently. Wow, inflation! Pity Pricehipster doesn't have that info any more, would be a good tool to keep the duopoly accountable…

Edit: yep, memory was right: this November they were still $5.25, and November 2023 they were $4.75. Ouch!

  • This gift card business might end up being a viable option now that Qantas points are getting harder to earn via credit cards :(

    • +2

This was always a part of the game. Even better if you know any friends or family that are going to buy etc things that you could get for them via gift cards.

      • +1

Yeah but I'm referring more to the previous offers where annual fees for credit cards were zero bucks and 60/70K points were easy to come by with low spend. Could see it coming when the USA started doing it last year but it is what it is.

True about friends or family grabbing the gift cards.

        • +1

Yea it really sucks that the banks are clamping down on ezpz points

  • +2

Do you get 2x EDR points and 10% off the spend value if you’re subscribed to Everyday Extra (in addition to 20x)?
Just wondering if it’s worth signing up for the 30-day free trial of Everyday Extra.

  • +1

Just give us 10% off for god sake.

    • If you convert to Qantas points the 20x EDR can work out a fair bit more lucrative.

      • Tell me how please, sensei. I thought Qantas points were a complete ripoff? And especially compared to getting $10 of discounted groceries?

        • +2

It depends how you spend them. If you purchase classic rewards tickets a Syd -> MELB economy ticket is 8000 points + $55 for a ticket that would otherwise cost $179, putting the value of a QFF point at 1.6 cents where that same point would be worth 1 cent as an EDR (2000 EDR = $10 = 1000 QFF). Business class is even better at 18400 QFF + $55 for a $554 ticket, putting the value of a QFF point at 2.7 cents. For international flights the value of a single point can go as high as 5 cents if memory serves.

So for $10 off your groceries you could get $16 to as much as $50 off a flight.

Mind you, every other use of QFF points is probably not going to be worth it, including every other way of paying for tickets so you need to be on the ball.

This will be an expensive week for me.

The Everyone card alone is good value with my weekly Nandos addiction/tradition

    • Why not use Ultimate Eats, you can use it at Grill'd, Boost and Subway too?

  • Is there any financial benefit to Bank For Christmas program or is it just a forced savings program?

    • +2

I think there’s no financial benefit but you won’t lose the ER points either

I normally use this option when if I have multiple ER accounts in family members names, and just transfer to one qantas account before the end of qantas membership year

    • +2

It is fundamentally just a forced savings promotion. Bank For Christmas is the same as Money Off Shopping, except you cannot redeem your Everyday Rewards during most of the year, but then choose to redeem them across late November and all of December.

Everyday Rewards will sometimes target some members with bonus points offers for changing their redemption preference to Bank For Christmas and keeping this preference until a certain date. Here is an example of such an offer.

      • +1

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for those offers.

  • Damn! No Apple Gift cards 🥲🥲🥲

  • Can you use multiple gift cards in Officeworks?

    • It depends on whether you are purchasing from Officeworks in-store, online or over the phone.

I suggest you have a look at the FAQ wiki linked at the bottom of the deal description, because it contains a FAQ that specifically addresses your question.

  • Can these gift cards be used online at jbhifi.com.au?

    • +2

      Yes.

I suggest you have a look at the FAQ wiki linked at the bottom of the deal description, because it contains a FAQ that highlights the limitations of using Ultimate gift cards on jbhifi.com.au.

      • +1

        Cheers

  • Complete newbie to woolworths everyday rewards. Can you use the points to buy gift cards like in flybuys?

    • No, not directly.

The Everyday Rewards terms and conditions states:

      • Everyday Rewards points can only be converted into Everyday Rewards Dollars or Qantas points. (Clause 12.)

      • Everyday Rewards Dollars cannot be used to purchase gift cards at any business accepting Everyday Rewards Dollars. (Clause 17.) For example, there is an Everyday Rewards Shop on the Everyday Rewards app, but that does not stock gift cards. Additionally, if you go in-store to Woolworths and scan a gift card to purchase it, you will not have the option to redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars to cover the cost of the gift card.

You could convert your Everyday Rewards points into Qantas points and then redeem the Qantas points for gift cards on the Qantas Rewards Store, but the consensus is that redeeming Qantas points for gift cards is of poor value. Have a look at the comments for this recent deal or this article from FreePoints to see what I am referring to.

  • There are two versions of these gift cards sold at Woolworths: one features the trademark "The Ultimate Gift for (TM)", while the other includes both "One4all" and "The Ultimate Gift for (TM)". Are they the same, and are both eligible for 20x EDR points?

    • +3

The two "generations" of Ultimate gift cards you mention both belong to the same gift card scheme, because it is simply a case of older packaging vs newer packaging.

Ultimate gift cards are produced in batches every few months, and the gift card scheme owner has produced three different "generations" of packaging since introducing the Visa version of Ultimate gift cards in late 2021. Here is an example of the three different "generations" of packaging used for the Ultimate Everyone gift cards. All three "generations" will earn 20x points during this deal, and if you are at a self checkout, you can verify this by scanning your Everyday Rewards card, scanning a fixed-denomination Ultimate Everyone gift card and then going to the payment screen. When you go to the payment screen, the points counter in the top right-hand corner should update to reflect 20x points (assuming you are not exceeding the daily purchase limits).

      • Thanks. I purchased "The Ultimate Gift for Everyone" $100. It turns out that no EDR points are displayed for the Gen3 gift card (the one with "One4all" on the front and a hologram sticker on the back). However, it works for the Gen1 gift card.

The Gen1 gift card has a 3-year expiration period, compared to the 5-year expiration for the Gen3 gift card.

        • I got some of each and all the points came through straight away at the register…

  • It’s so annoying how some registers within the same store allocate your points immediately and others don’t.

  • Can confirm the coles prepaid $100s work to buy these.

  • +1

I just bought 5x $100 Ultimate Everyone Cards and my docket came up as not having earned any points? Does that I didnt get the points? It says 20x but I got no points to start with so 20x0=0?

    • Same here, hopefully they will show up in a few days. Have you purchased Gen3 cards as well?

    • Did you buy one4all gift cards ?

      • I did, the new branding style ones.

      • yes, the new branding is gen3

    • Same here, got 2x cards but nothing. Ereceipt there cos obviously we scanned the card but no points yet.

Don't remember it taking this long

      • +1

I also encountered this issue with the Gen3 GC.

The Gen1 GC works, and the bonus EDR points can be verified immediately on the POS screen (before making the payment) and the EDR app (eReceipt).

        • I think I bought the Gen 3, so how long did it take before the points turned up for you can I ask

  • Also purchased 5 x $100 Gen 3 UE cards and no points showing in the App. As they didn't show on the register screen I asked the person serving me to confirm all was ok. I was assured it was, however receipt prints and no points showing. They checked a Gen 1 card and it showed points straight away. Guy trying to help me called his manager twice who said she wouldn't come and talk to me and essentially for me to go away and deal with EDR. Given they tested a Gen 1 card and the points showed on screen after I had already bought the limit of 5, figure there is zero chance these will magically appear, but really hope I am wrong. Disgusting customer service from manager (Woolworths Southland for reference) and crap system from Woolworths now means I'll have to waste hours dealing with EDR

    • Update 1 Jan: there’s an issue with some specific versions of these gift cards not crediting the points instantly (e.g. the One4All-branded Ultimate Everyone $100). These gift cards are still definitely included so the points will eventually arrive after they fix the mistake. https://freepoints.com.au/woolworths-1-jan-2025

      • I’d be kind of like asking a Coles store manager to resolve an issue with flybuys promotions. These systems must’nt be managed at the store level. BTW - you need to hit the associated checkbox.

      • CS will give the points for eligible purchases but they usually insist you wait the 14 business days as per the T&Cs

  • Purchased 5 x $100 Ultimate Everyone and no points. 'Mandy' chatbot no help, will have to wait until EDR are back online tomorrow.

    • Same with me also bought 3 x $100 Ultimate everyone, waiting for the points

    • +2

Happened to me as well, apparently there's a glitch and they forgot to include these cards, and they'll likely credit the points at a later date, according to Freepoints. Specifically seems to be the Everyone $100 cards only, at the moment with this glitch

"Update 1 Jan: there’s an issue with some specific versions of these gift cards not crediting the points instantly (e.g. the One4All-branded Ultimate Everyone $100). • Got 1st Gen, points awarded straight away - 10,000 converted to 5000QFF.

  • +1

Got 5x $100 Home gen 3 on two separate EDR accounts (mine and wife’s) and points credited straight away on both

  • Ultimate Eats worked fine

  • Does anyone know how often they run the promo on the ultimate cards?

Wondering if i should do a big stock up now or itll roll back around soon enough anyway…

  • Please make sure to chase up the missing points with customer service via the rewards app! ;( got copped with the glitch.

  • There is a glitch apparently today!
She said to ask for a manual credit ..
    Should I proceed?

    • Have you read the posts so far in this thread? Not like it is a long read…

Known issue with some of the cards. Seems to be mainly related to the Ultimate Everyone. Which card are you intending on purchasing?

      • Yeh ultimate everyone …
I only read the thread after not seeing the points being credited during checkout

The WW Donny attendant said no worries if I don’t proceed so I left for the time being :(

Might try another WW later this arvo

    • Manual credit was flat out refused by EDR chat.

      • Oh my god… ;(
Best to not risk it and just go to another woollies with gen one

        • I actually wish I read all the comments before I bought mine haha, my woolies had a ton of the Gen 1 cards at the back of the rack but I didn't want to pull all the gift cards off so I got the ones at the front which are the glitched ones!

      • Yes you need to wait out the relevant time period before contacting them, otherwise you could get the points twice

  • +1

Spoke with the EDR team who advised it's a known issue they're working to resolve but it can take 14 business days for the points to appear as per T&C's.

  • Ultimate gift card website keeps flagging for malvertising, anyone know how to exchange the gift card for online usage?

    • +1

If you go to this webpage and scroll down to the Exchange for an eGift Card section, you will see the instructions for exchanging your Ultimate gift card.

If you have followed these instructions and continually see alerts for malvertising, it sounds like whatever program is flagging the Ultimate gift card website as malvertising is over-reacting in this case. To start the process of exchanging your Ultimate gift card, you essentially need to input your gift card's details into a website, and once the website validates this, you will be taken to another portal where you can see the available balance and the exchange options. The gift card's details are essentially just Visa card details, and the page you enter it into is not a payment portal, which can make some programs think the Ultimate gift card website is there to steal your Visa card details and misuse them.

I have followed the instructions linked above and exchanged an Ultimate gift card for a participating retailer's digital gift card in the past and had no issues, so I do not foresee you having any issues following the same instructions.

      • +1

Thanks Wookie. I've added the website to exceptions for my anti-virus and works fine now

  • My local store had those with $50-$500 ones, which I put $200 on it and no EDR points so far!
Are they different from the $100 ones you guys are talking about?

    • +3

Those are variable load cards and they're specifically excluded from this promotion. Give Everyday Rewards a call or message tomorrow and explain your mistake as there's a decent chance they'll manually credit you the points as a once off gesture of good will.

      • Oh, right.
I saw "Excludes all Ultimate Variable gift cards". I thought that is a separate type of Ultimate Gift Card. So confusing for me! But thanks for that, will give them a call.

    • Deal excludes variable gift cards

  • Bought 2 sets of ultimate everyone gift cards, wife’s card got the points but not mine.
