Qantas Points really is a magic currency… for Qantas
Its super simple. Never buy them. Value them at 1c when earning them.
Then when you redeem, you get between 1c to 7.8c in redemption value pending what you get. If you're not getting that, sell them on OzB

You're paying at least $38 for the $25 card and $768 for the $500 card - as a basis of how terrible a deal this is for points usage.
If you valued the points as most do, based on redemption, around 5.5 per point, then you're paying about $4224 worth of flights for a $500 giftcard.
I'll buy anyone's 76800 points for $550 and you can buy an apple card and pocket a pineapple. You're welcome.
