Can anyone recommend this? Is it worth it compared to the other 50 bissells?

  • This is a GREAT price!

  • Is this the same as the purple one?

  • Cannot find this particular model (red) on Bissells website, only purple one.

Purple version seems to have 3 different attachments. This one looks like only 1 ??

Bissell has many variants. That’s how stores get away with not price matching/beating.
Eg. SCA has a model with “long hose 2.4m - exclusive to SCA”

  • Got one thanks op , great deal

  • This or the kmart one?
Does it require specific cleaner or just water?

    • +1

Try both, and share your reviews with the community :)

I had the kmart version and just threw it out after a year of occasional use of cleaning the couch.
Decent enough for cleaning the couch BUT it kept leaking water all over the floor… I had to use a Bissell Crosswave to clean up the mess everytime.
Also worth noting, it was second replacement unit from kmart. The first unit had a faulty nozzle so the water trigger wasn't working.
I'd spend the extra for the Bissell for a better quality unit.
Also worth getting the turbo model with a bigger water tank.

  • Does anyone have a good home made cleaning solution recipe for these Bissels? The ones I've found online have American ingredients which we don't have here…

    • Go to Choice…(keep it simple)

    • +3

Like 15ml of liquid washing detergent.

Put a dab of vinegar in dirty tank if excessive foaming is a problem, but it won't be.

    • Search the previous deals for these machines, i recall lots of suggestions in the past. I personally just buy the solution from bing lee, cheapest i have found

  • These work on coffee stains? Got two big ones, might be cheaper to buy this than getting a carpet cleaner out. Nice surprise to see this thing actually reviewed well by customers.

Im a carpet cleaner and it depends on how much coffee was splitand how long ago. Too much and too long ago and doesn't matter what you try.

Kmart has a dupe for $~100 so I'd say for $100 this is a solid purchase. From when I looked into it, there are ~50 spot cleaners but they fit into different lines, and are either store exclusives (such as the ones with Harvey Norman, and maybe the auto with supercheap) or they are different colours but have the same internals.

They've just released a new range where they have upgraded the vacuum power, so will be worth comparing whats suitable for your use case.
We just borrowed the purple one and liked it enough to go buy a more expensive model (hydrosteam from HN).

Edit: Know this will likely be a purchase that sits in the cupboard 11 months of the year. get what suits your budget

    TLDR:
    Read this one https://www.bowdensown.com.au/guides/how-to-use/interior-car…
—> look down to differences between machines

Then Compare on the Bissel website https://bissell.com.au/pages/compare-models.
Search the product code if you cant find it through the "Products" page.

  • These are fantastic. Bought one last year. No regrets.

  • Wow. I can't find this model on the Bissell site so I can't tell the difference from the SCA version, but that's a helluva lot cheaper.

  • +1

The spot cleaner formula is expensive and doesn't last that long.

    • Buy a 5 ltr from bunning and dilute.

      • Voids the warranty

        • Surly using another detergent doesn't void warranty. I may be wrong as haven't read the full warranty on one of these but thats like buying a coffee machine and can only use their pods.

I would with out a doubt be buying an alternative cleaning solution. I recommend Actichem Performance Gold 5 ltr, make sure dilute ie 20ml per 1ltr of water (that's 250 ltrs of cleaning solution for around $85. ie 34c litre) for general stains. Very tiny bit stronger for tougher ones. Get a 1 ltr spray bottle, shake and mix in that, spray on, massage gentle the stain and use machine to flush out. If on cushion try do all cushion as if concntrate on one spot it will look different. Blood, cold water only. Orange juice, cordial, bright fluids and wine…good luck. Best to do them asap if want to have any chance to remove. P.s on a general it's really best to attack all stains when happen

  • Theres a lot of comments here, can someone simplify:

If I just want a basic spot cleaner for a fabric couch for occasional stains what model should I go for?

Someone said the pro when on sale but what one?

    • For under a hundred bucks this one is a good deal. I have a big Bissell carpet cleaner with a spot stain attachement and it's great for the car if spot stains so this one won't be an issue. In fact I'm thinking of getting one for the ease of use alone.

One of these, a spray of stain remover and some cleaner in the tank will deal with 95% of what you find.

    • The Pro is on sale at the moment on Amazon for $291.49….cheapest it's ever been. Pro is 750 watts so I'm hoping it wont be as tedious when I get told by a higher authority to clean the lounge suite and dining chairs.

  • +1

I have the orange version. The wet suction is not strong. I reckon I would be better off with a shop vac. It's the cleaning chemical that gets the stain out. The machine is really just to get the water out.

    • Bang on. Get a dry and wet vac. Will do same job.

  • got this last year from HN. haven't used once yet-but it will come in handy one day.

    • +1

Probably should buy another in case that one doesn't work.

      • There's a trick to renew the warranty period but not sure if it works at this particular store.

  • This any good for car interiors? Cheers and happy boxing day :)

    • Perfect. Try not get solution on leather, but fabric will do a reasonable job.

  • Instead of this I want to turn the Ozito wet vacuum into a upholstery cleaner, but can’t find a head that fits. Any suggestions?
