I bought this recently and it is pretty good for the office. It doesn’t seem to render MacOS text crisply (HDMI off an M4 Mac Mini). Definitely an OS issue though as my Citrix Windows Workspace on the same mac looks as it should in 1440p.

    • Try BetterDisplay if you haven't already, can help a lot with that issue depending on the screen.

As a genuine user of Windows, macOS, and Linux on a daily basis, there are a variety of areas where developers of macOS seem to just have their heads stuck in the sand and refuse to live in reality.

Font rendering is one of those areas - Microsoft uses ClearType, which significantly improves the rendering of fonts on LCD screens due to improved subpixel rendering, which would still be visible at the sort of pixel density of a 34" 3440x1440 monitor.

macOS fonts look fine on a MacBook because of their high DPI displays, but on anything else, the font rendering looks like trash and you can clearly see how fuzzy any curved lines are.

  • for anyone who hates shady software practices: I had to install MSI's software to do a firmware update on my monitor. there was no uninstaller, there was no startup entry but it added about 5 processes that all get used by each other so it's a pain to actually remove that malware when your done. monitor is good otherwise.

    • There should be driver files you can select in the Device Manager dialogue for driver updates.

      • JigBew mentioned monitor firmware, not device drivers :-)
