Thanks OP. Good deal for SSD with heatsink. ATL for the past year.

      Doesn't have heatsink does it?

      • -1

There is an option on Amazon to select SN850X with Heatsink - https://amzn.asia/d/iaEA2S5

        • +1

Yeah but that changes the price.

          • @PleasureMe: Yes, it does. At $202, it’s still a great deal compared to the prices over the past year. The lowest I’ve seen this SSD was $198, and that was over a year ago.

Waiting for the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB sale

    • Is it that much better?

      • +4

Nooe. People have complained about 990 pro a lot.
I wanted a 990 but after much reviews I think 850x is much more reliable.

        • IS THIS TRUE?? I thought 990 Pro is gold standard

          • +4

@freelife: 990 Pro had a reported issue earlier on, requiring a firmware upgrade. It's best to upgrade firmware right away once you receive your 990 Pro (most likely the current batches would already have a new enough firmware, but probably still best to check and do a firmware upgrade). Never snapped purchased faster thanks OP

Thanks for helping validate my 3AM purchase. I’m sure I won’t regret it now.

  • There is a heatsink variation, anyone know if it's worth getting?

    • +2

I would say its worth it. Its just $15 more and also if you are going to use it for PS5 then heatsink is the way to go. Even for PC setups, a heatsink provides better thermal management.

    • +2

I don’t think the include one is anything special, for the price difference you have a few choices via Amazon at $15 or less. Or you could look at it as a $15 discount on a more premium heat sink option if cooling is a concern for your setup and usage.

I bought without the heatsink and purchased a Thermaright one from AliExpress for $7. This was the last time this deal was posted.

It has fantastic performance, super good combo.

  • Was desperately looking for this but just found out it is double sided and cannot be used in laptop.

    Can anyone please confirm.this.

    • +1

I got the 4TB version which was double-sided and at the time I thought my research revealed the 2TB version was one-sided but I might be misremembering.

I bought and installed one into my son's Dell laptop, works a treat.

The 2TB version is definitely single sided.

  • risky getting it shipped from germany to au?

    • +5

not at all from Amazon :)

  • +1

Any reason why over the KC3000?

  • +2

Runs cooler than Kingston My WD SN850X 4tb in enclosure runs much cooler than my Kingston Fury Renegade 4TB

    • Is it with a heatsink or without?

      • +1

Both non HS versions, but using enclosure supplied thermal pads 2 x Wavlink USB4 ST-401C enclosures

  • Thanks OP, been for waiting for a decent 2TB SSD for use with my PS5 to drop sub-200.

    • +3

prob worth spending the extra $15 to get the heatsink version as someone above mentioned…

Is the best SSD value wise to shove into a PS5?

    • +2

      Yes

      • +1

Cheers. Have been wanting an SSD upgrade - haven't been able to download any games for a while now. Jumped on this.

Need a decent 4TB for my PC

  • I've had a bit of a dig around but a bit of conflicting information - is anyone able to advise if these can be run with a Synology NAS?

  • 12% claimed - looks like there’s plenty

  • This in an enclosure would be perfect for a Panasonic S5 IIX camera.
