    • Know of anything cheaper to europe from melb? Or same price better airline?

      • Better airline? Do you fly private jets exclusively? If not do some research on China Southern, beats Quantas any day!

        • *Qantas

          • +1

@Gen Ice: Sorry! My subconscious was whispering Cuntass, that is the best I could do at the time. ;-)

    • Same dates on a random linked listed above - Qantas/Qatar = $2k
"Nothing looks like a deal here"
      Ok got you.

    • Show us something the same price?

    • Down voted.

  • While these are good deals, personally I would spend the extra $250-$750 for less travel time.

Max is around 30h for me personally, after that it just starts to waste to much of annual leave and/or to draining.

  • I’ve flown China Southern twice, that’s enough thanks. I flew them once twenty years ago, that was terrible. They were at least half decent last year when I flew them again. I think they’re alright when you’re in your twenties and early thirties but once you hit a certain age, you’ve got to let them go.

Yup, prices have been really good. Paid $4.7k for 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant in April/June!

  • My god how do Southern China & other PRC based international airlines make money on these sub $1300 Europe return flights???

Qatar, Emirates, Qantas, Etihad, Korean air, Singapore Airlines just a name few charges at least $2100 for a return ticket.

It’s about minimum $700 difference & aeroplane fleet is not bad for CZ. They use a variety of 787, 350 ,777
for Aus leg. Competitive young fleet of jets. Not older a330, 767, 777-200 fleet.

Qantas love using older a330-200/300 for flights to North America/Asia. I know QF operate 787s for medium to long haul routes.

    • +4

I think the question we should be asking is why all the other airlines continue to rip us off…

    • +1

Everything could be a lot cheaper if the US stopped acting like a thug and started accepting countries like Venezuela, Iran, and Russia as fully independent countries that do not like being told what to do.
Their oil would flood the market.

  • Just know that transfer in Guanzhou can be very chaotic. I experienced a 1hr transfer with sprinting through the airport (following multiple airline employees that were highly uncoordinated) and passi ng 2 security checks and 3 passport controls. Flights themselves were OK but some Chinese airports are hell for foreigners.

  • any reviews from past experience ? tempted but skeptical at the same time.
