[NSW, NRMA] Switch to ENGIE for $250 Gas & $250 Electricity Bill Credits @ ENGIE

220

This deal popped up on my Facebook as advertisement.

I don't know whether it can be combined with Shopback and Cashrewards who are both offering $112 cashback.

You will receive a one-off bonus bill credit of $250 on your first electricity bill and $250 on your first gas bill (a total of $500 for gas and electricity), provided you have not received a welcome credit from us in the past 12 months. This credit includes GST and is not redeemable for cash.

    Previous deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/868970

Not sure why it’s marked as expired.

This post doesn’t list the fact you need to be an NRMA member..

Rate and charges are about 20% more than what I currently pay and feed in tariff is 36% lower.

    • This is a silly comparison, you should not care about the rates, you should care about the free $500 and just churn when you’re near the end of said credits.

Again, comparing it, is just silly talk.

    • It’s free money. Change when it runs out.

  • +1

Yep check the rates. So high

    • +6

More than $500 extra in the first quarter high?

      • +3

This. Use your bonus credit then if they're that high, move to another provider after

    • Agreed, out of the 21 providers listed on energy made easy, they are the second most expensive here :S will jave to number crunch to figure out if churning is worth the effort for just electricity.

  • Welcome credit apply if you were with Simply Energy in the last 12 months?

    • I still got the credit.
If they refuse, just take it to the ombudsman

    • No

  • Does the leftover credit carry over to following months?

    • +2

      Yes it does.

    • -5

No, only for first bill only

      • Sorry to see down votes, but I also wanted to know this exactly since they mentioned "Your offer includes a one-off welcome credit of $200 on your first electricity bill", I have chat with them and that person confirmed, it is valid for first bill only. Sorry if you guys got hurt, I recon, please chat with them. Then update what they say. I am from SA.

  • Can anyone clarify if the referral link definitely stacks?

  • There's ENGIE, ENGIE Greenpower & ENGIE Solar.
The solar doesn't seem to have the $500 bonus. I have solar. Can I pick another plan? (either the 1st or 2nd)?

    • yeah i think so, 1st and 2nd have 5c FIT

    • You can signup to the bonus plan and then switch afterwards, your credit will carry over to the new plan.

  • +1

everytime I try to signup for them I get declined due to credit rating…even though I use same details for AGL/origin/etc no issues

    • -1

maybe they think you owe them money ? A chat/call is probably the way to go.

  • +1

Is it $200 for electricity only?

    • Rly? Only $250 if you get both?

    • Looks like it

    • Qld & Vic yes

  • So NSW is $250.for each or $500 both
Vic & Qld is $200 for each or $400 both (if you can get gas in Qld)

  • Anyone know how to get the referral link to send to people (and copy to ozb)? The refer a friend link just directs me to a signal page where I can enter someone's referral code.

  • +1

    So, in summary:

    • It's only $200 for electricity only in Victoria and Queensland. $400 for electricity and gas.
    • The credit applies only to the first bill, based on Kas' comment: "I have chat with them and that person confirmed, it is valid for first bill only."
    • Are you saying leftover credit wont be rolled over to next bill?.

      • I did this last year when it was $300 for electricity and the credit rolled over.

      • +1

        that's what they said

The credit applies only to the first bill,

        and I also asked

        3:16 PM
        Agent
The welcome credit of $250 that is just for the first electricity bill

But the person didn't really have a good grasp of English (even worse then me) because when I asked if it's just a bill credit for the first bill or does it roll over to other bills until used up. Their answer was

        Yes.
