Q Acoustics Concept 30 Bookshelf Speakers (B-Stock) $949 Delivered @ AddictedToAudio

310

Serious high-end speakers for a great price. These are passive speakers so they will require an amplifier/receiver.

It is listed as B-Stock, but I've spoken to AddictedToAudio about this and they say there is a 95%+ chance it's actually brand new. They only mark it as a B-Stock listing because it's impossible to check all their warehouse stock.

Another good deal, Q Acoustics 5020 Bookshelf Speakers for $699: https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/early-access-blac…

AddictedToAudio's Black Friday sale page remains up: https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/early-access-blac…

for a moment I got excited thinking its concept 300 lol

    • +2

They're also half price, so arguably a bargain.

Purchased a set of concept 50s, also half price for b-stock. Can confirm they were brand new with one box having minor damage only.

    • do you have any recommendations for something on the cheaper end of the spectrum but also bang for buck?

These are absolute bargain, I have these and the smaller 3010i version

        • How do you find the 3010i? I was considering the larger 3020i for a TT setup. Budget restrictions means the concept 30s and 5000 series are out. Also other brands just don't do it for me from a visual perspective.

@Morefromgerry: I use the smaller ones as fronts in my home theatre (wife approval). The larger version I have in my home office via WiiM Amp plus a sub.
Different use cases but they both super impress me considering that money.
My 5.1 home theatre (about to be 5.1.4) still hits hard with the 3010i fronts, and the Q Acoustics centre, wired up to Onkyo TX-RZ50.
If you have the extra few bucks and can handle the bigger size (and depth) the get the 3020i.
Would certainly aim for a subwoofer if possible, particularly if going for the 3020i

@hen dawg: I appreciate the feedback. I need to have another listen to the 3020i but otherwise, I think I'm sold. I'm gradually adding/upgrading as funds become available and the wife approves, so a sub is certainly on the list

              • @Morefromgerry: No worries. If you don't constantly spend money on vinyl you'd have more for the actual gear but that's a separate discussion!
                P.s. also consider the 3030i.

@hen dawg: Vinyl is such a slippery slope..went from finding 40 odd records in our communal bin area, thought probably should by a cheap TT to play them on. Bought a cheap JAM TT from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825674 back in January, to now owning a Rega P2 and having over 120 records…sigh

              • @Morefromgerry: Correction to my above comment about a sub, meant to say for the smaller 3010i (but subs improve everything)

The q-accoustics 5000 series is well reviewed and all their speakers seems to be discounted here.

  • +1

for some reason i thought bookshelf speakers meant inbuilt speakers into a bookshelf lol.

    that price is solid too

  • would the Q Acoustics 5020 be good to pair with the Pro-ject Debut Pro S? just getting into the Vinyl game now.

If yes to the above, what amp would you recommend?

    Cheers

    • Yea, but you will need an amp. Addicted to Audio do an amp combo with the 5020s. Will need a preamp depending on the amp as well

Any reason to pick this over the KEF Q150, which is on sale atm as it’s an outgoing model? https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/kef-q150-mainstream-concent…

I bought some of the "B Stock" Dynaudio Special 40s as part of the Black Friday sale in a bundle with a Cambridge Audio Evo 75 (plus matching turntable)

It was all brand new in boxes with zero damage.

    PS it's amazing kit.

  • 30 Bookshelf Speakers for $949 is a good buy, but who really needs 30 speakers?

    • +1

      Good one Dad.

    • +1

The man/woman who has 30 bookshelves.

  • Any recommendation for amps to drive the bookshelf speakers? Or can connect to computers directly?

    • +1

I run my concept 20s off a Rotel A-11 and am very happy with the pairing. No issues with power.

    • +1

They are not powered speakers and would be overkill for PC use. Something like an audio engine a2 might be more suitable.

  • Bought Dynaudio Emit 30 B-Stock and can confirm they were brand new in original box with no visible damage.

  • Great price for the Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T

Would highly recommend studio monitors over bookshelf speakers this small - most will sound better as they’re made for worse room conditions

    • You probably won't like the sound of studio monitors when used like this.

      • When used like what?

I swapped a set very similar to this to a set of studio monitors at the same price with inbuilt room correction and they were much better

Anyone tried css audio speaker kits for diy? How do these compare?

  • Great price on these, but I'm happy enough with my Kef Q550s

  • I'm planning on picking up:

    • a pair of q303i's to use as fronts
    • A pair of 3010i's to use as rears
    • Q3090ci as centre speaker

To go with my Denon x1800h receiver and svs pb 1000 pro sub. Does this sound like a good home theatre set up?
