  • Can anyone tell me which generation of the Elevate optical heart rate sensor this watch uses? Is it the 4th or 5th

    • +3

      gen 2 pro uses 5th.
      gen 2 uses 4th.

Other difference btw gen 2 and gen 2 pro is the flash light.

      That's all i'm aware of.

      • Yep, that's it.
Band looks a bit different and no red elements on the body design-wise.

Had both, upgraded mostly for the flashlight :)

        • That's one expensive flashlight.
How much did you manage to get selling the older one (assuming you sold it)?

    • the pro series (Epix and Fenix 7) are ones with newer HR sensor (compared to non-pro) same in the Fenix 8
      (according to https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2024/08/garmin-fenix-8-in-depth-…)

    • It has 5 gen, same as Fenix 8.
With ECG (need to activate via US location spoofing and VPN though).

  • Ooh nice $752.75 with eBay gc at 5% and potentially another 10% off with trs

    • I'm going to do the same. I'm not sure if the invoice from Kogan eBay have enough information.

    • where is ebay gift card for 5% off ? and is this trs ?

      • Yes. I think Kogan is selling the grey import product - so can't claim using TRS.

    51mm for $888.88

Are they targeting the Chinese market with a price like that?

  • +1

At rebel, 10% off with gift cards, 7.5% cashback and if you sign up you get another $50 of rebel credit.

  • +2

Does it come with Australian warranty (Garmin local warranty)?
Not a grey import with Kogan's warranty

  • Anyone use this with home assistant // I can't seem to get actionable notifications to come through

    Geez…

What's the cheapest fitness tracker I can swim with, that will track/ link to private health style rewards system (ie. AIA vitality)

    Cheers

    • u can do that with any galaxy watch

      • -1

Galaxy watch is the cheapest option out there?

For reference, the most expensive phones I have ever bought were an Oppo A72 for $100, followed by a Nokia 3 for $45, followed by a Huawei Y5 for $19.

All used as media servers, solar monitoring, car access, home wifi and ..a phone. All batteries still like new (can't see any reason to pay a premium).

So yeah, hoping there is a $50 ish smart watch out there that can report back to private health?

    • I'd be looking for a second hand Garmin model up to 4 years old.

      • Thanks bud. Cheers.
