you need to put the price in the title mate

    • I did but the 'title assistance' took it out….. fixed up now.

Great price. This watch is a conversation Starter when you wear on public, so I avoid and stick with 5pro

    • +1

The 5 pro is a great watch. But so is this. If i can get officeworks to pricebeat tomorrow I think I'll do this.

      • +2

Tried multiple times at different stores and they wont.. Its Int model..

      • They will pricebeat this its au version https://amzn.asia/d/cdPs4xB

        • +1

Why do you think it's AU version? Becextech is a well known grey importer

          • @groook: SM-L705FDAAXSA.
            XSA = australia.

        • No they won't, not in stock

      • -3

Must have a pretty impressive wrist to buy lugging a PS5 Pro on your wrist.

    • +2

The ultra is twice as good as the 5 pro easily, from someone who's owned both. Looks better too.

      • The sensors are equally terrible on both.

  • +2

International model means Samsung/google pay might not work

    • +2

not a deal then. No real warranty.

    • +1

      Bought international model from techinthebasket.com
Au can confirm samsung pay works.

    • People said this about the Classic 6. I got one from Catch that was less than half price international model. Delivered in under a week and everything works, Samsung health, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

    • It should work because Google Pay services simply depend on your Google account default country.

    • google pay will work if it works on your phone. Samsung Pay is more picky.

Price is good compared to RRP. But there's nothing in this watch that is better than my 5 Pro. So no..

    • -7

The looks is better. More applely

      • +4

Subjective. I hate Apple Products so probably not for me.

    • +6

      Screen size, battery age, processor

      • -5

        1) Not everyone wants a huge screen watch on their wrist
        2) Watch 5 pro gets me through 2.5 days without much worries
        3) Err.. it's a watch. You're not going to be playing Switch Emulation on it.

        • +3

You should have said these 3 instead of your comment above. The ultra is evry bit better than your 5 pro. But you have your subjective reasons not to get the uktra, which is fine.

I'm waiting for the next version of this. It is an underwhelming offering compared to the Apple equivalent. It's not even proper waterproof. The Apple one can scuba dive.

    • +7

Um it's 10ATM waterproof rating… More than twice as deep as any recreational diver can dive.

      • +1

It's rated to 10 ATM, but as per Samsung's fine print:
Galaxy Watch Ultra is water resistant for 10 minutes in water ith a depth of 100 meters according to the IS022810 standard The test was conducted in 5% salty water and 4ppm chlorine water. Galaxy Watch Ultra is water resistant with an IP68 rating pased on the lab test conditions for submersion in up to 1.5 meters fresh water for up to 30 minutes. It is not suitable for high-pressure water activities and diving. It may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time.

So yeah, not a dive watch. A swim watch.

        • +2

Interesting!… Bit dodgy marketing there isn't it.

Well I'm not a diver and I haven't taken this thing off since I got it on release except to charge, so it's been through beach, pool, shower etc etc many times and is still kicking.

So it's good enough for me, however I would expect a watch marketed with 10ATM water resistance to be able to be used for diving.

Edit: I've done some further reading on this and it seems apple test to 22810:2010 for their watch ultra, which also "isn't suitable for diving" according to that very standard, however obviously people use the apple watch for diving with few issues… So unless there are vast amounts of galaxy watch ultras failing due to leaks then it's probably a big nothing burger… If the watch survived for 10m under 100m then it's probably going to survive a lot longer than that too… Especially at any recreational depths.

        • Great fine print finding there, Did you compare that with Apple's fine print?

    • Im curious, what will you do when the next version apple equivalent will be a lot better than the next version of the galxy ultra?

      • Considering this is samsung's first ultra watch offering I would expect that the future ones may hit closer to the mark. There is a base level of performance I'd be expecting for the amount of money being paid. I will say that based off what binchicken said above that I still make consider one.

  • +2

    Get a garmin instead

    • but why? curious I might consider but I've got a 24 Ultra already

  • Hope they release these every year, so I can wait and buy cheap used from market place

  • How do these compare with a Fitbit sense ? My sense is getting close to replacement and I am looking for a nongoogle alternative.

    • +2

I really enjoy mine, you will notice a decrease in battery life on these, you can get two full days (48hrs) easily with everything on and using all the features, run tracking etc or 3 days of you are a bit careful with how you use it.

  • +1

I was very keen on getting one of these or a Classic 6 to replace my Classic Watch 4, but have decided to wait till mid year to see if they release a Classic Watch 8 . I use the rotating bezel and think it's one of Samsung's best features on their watches so I hope they bring it back this year.

  • How to apply the coupon?

  • Has anyone figured , how to use the coupoun code? If you enter it in the Gift card field, it says it is invalid
