Memories of the 2021 $49 deal.

Still using my $20 one from this deal 'competition'.

  • +3

I have one since 2020 still going strong but recently upgraded to io series and not going back. I think these are good but quite rough on the gums. I found the io series to be just as good, but much less rough

    • So you'd recommend any iO series above this? E.g. iO 3 series @ $70, https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/137048/oral-b-power-…

    • Interesting, online reviews say the opposite which is why we decided to just get the Pro series as our current ones are running out of battery quite quickly after having used them for a couple of years.

      • Which reviews? I asked ChatGPT to look up online reviews about this topic and it says that people generally find io series gentler on gums. I guess the topic is completely subjective on each person’s gums and how they use the brush

    • @Nedkellyinthebush Upgraded to iO series 3 years ago and completelly agree with your comment.

I'm actually thinking about switching back to the pro 2000 from an io 7. Getting mould issues on the toothbrush heads and toothbrush itself where the head attached to the body. This is with me leaving the head off after every brush so it can dry.

This or the Pro 2500x for $52.39?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/881984

    • I prefer the Pro 2500X. But purely anecdotal experience.

      • Any idea if they use same brush head?

        • +2

They all use the same brush head EXCEPT the iO Series. At least from my experience.

    • +1

Not quite sure why this 2000 deal is more popular than that 2500x deal? I would’ve thought the 2500x (which apparently is the same as the 3000 but in black) is better than the 2000 for only $3 more?

      • +2

I'm guessing time of day and the poster.

    • Thanks op, got one. 👍

    • Are you a representative of Ozbargain?

  • Why is this better than the Oral B models around $30? Is there a longer battery life?

  • +1

Don't know the diff, still having 4 of the smart 1 around from last deal.

  • No BT? Wasn't the BT one less than this?

    • No bluetooth, you probably won't use it anyway, but yeah that was a better deal ($39).

      • better deal, yes. which one is the better product?

        • +1

That one as it has Bluetooth and an extra mode (whitening), so a better product I believe. Otherwise basically the same.

  • +1

Same price at Shaver Shop in case anyone is interested

    https://www.shavershop.com.au/oral-b/pro-2-2000-electric-too…

  • It’s hard to catch up with all the models. Would this one be noticeably better than the Smart 1 which also has Bluetooth and Lithium battery and was only $35 and quite popular in the previous deal here?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/877376

I’ve bought the other one but haven’t opened the box yet. Might gift it away if this one is meaningfully better in some way.

    • +1

$39. See here. This one isn't better than Smart 1

    • +1

Yep, was $34 through their eBay store (with $5 eBay code).
I now have both. As OP mentioned very similar apart from Bluetooth (not sure of use case) and the extra mode (which is more powerful)

      • +2

Bluetooth allows the app to track where in your mouth the brush is to make sure you do all teeth evenly as you brush, might be good for kids but I found it a gimmick and the tracking wasn't very reliable, ie I was brushing upper left and it says it was lower left. Stopped using it pretty quickly.

    • +1

Thanks guys. I’ll stick to the Smart 1 and skip this one then.

  • Thanks for this - good timing the battery died on my old one

  • can someone explain why i need bluetooth and all that jazz in my toothbrush? i just got the 300 pro for about $32. it has a 2 min timer and some sensitivity mode thingy.

    • +1

If it has a lithium battery (assuming it does? Couldn't find it online), then you don't really need anything more. The main advantage to this over the cheaper vitality ones that you can pick up for $15-$20, is Lithium instead of Nickel batteries that can die pretty quickly.

The only real advantage you would get with this model is a pressure sensor (alerts you if you are pressing too hard) and a low battery indicator which it looks like the Pro 300 doesn't have.

  • Just bought the pro 800 a couple days ago, should've waited for this one..

  • :) love these brushes

  • Black + Travel Case OOS

  • As Black (w travel case) is OSS, is it worth to go for Blue (w/o travel case).
Travel case is the only difference ?

    • +1

Yeah that's the only difference, travel case is handy but it's just a plastic case.

      • Blue one shows RRP 78.00 but the black one showed 199.00
It was mainly due the color it seems then.

btw, thanks for sharing the deal

        • Blue one says 'Was $78', not RRP. Thus the difference. Amazon sometimes displays RRP, sometimes 'was'.

          No probs.

    • Cheers, the odd things you order at 5am right 😄

  • Any good deal on the spare heads? Where do you guys buy them from?

    • +1

A couple of deals here, otherwise click subscribe and wait for the next post.
