Pretty much an all-time low price for this Light Strip. Bought it in the last deal and they're great around the house with HomeKit.

What I've been using them for:

  • TV bias lighting;
  • Under bench lighting;
  • General mood lighting; and
  • Gaming monitor lighting.

I hate how cheap LEDs feel with the brutal blue so this one has a really nice warm white with full RGB too.

  • Read some mix reviews on Meross. Are they reliable?

    • Yeah I've been happy with lights, plugs and garage opener… Compared to HEYMIX and other stuff that has caught fire I've never had that much of a problem

I feel like Meross, INIU and similar new brands are about the same level that old school Xiaomi was (back in the days of the tank powerbanks). Now Xiaomi and some of those 'established' Chinese brands like Baseus etc. is really bad value imo

      • Thanks! I get one.

        • The reality is all this smart stuff is all rebranded from the same manufacturer (Tapo, Tuya) etc. that all links with Google Home and HomeKit so if people are saying one is better than the other they're delusional I feel or it's all placebo…

  • 32.8ft option for $39.97 too

    • Got a link?

    • 32.8ft option comes with 2 x 16.8ft reals. How about the connector? 1 or 2? Can it be used in two different locations? such as bedroom and kitchen?

      • I assume it would only be 1 connector.

  • I also hate how cheap LEDs feel with the brutal blue and I'm after ones with a quality nice warm white like this.. but not noteworked.
Can anyone suggest good quality of light in warm white in simple one colour 5M LED strip?

Or alternatively a RGB one but not networkable?

I'm hoping to get a few and avoid paying for features I don't use and extra RF around the house I already have plenty of!

    • There's surely a market for cheaper faraday cages hahaha

      • That looks great, thank you.

Does anyone have any experience with this if it is actually good quality light and reliable?

      • For anyone looking at that CozyLady light - it has no power adapter, so it's incomplete. Also read reviews a lot of 1 star.

    • I'm after ones with a quality nice warm white

Note that this particular LED strip in this deal (MSL320) does NOT have dedicated white LEDs, so the colour rendition for warm whites looks absolutely horrendous, as I found out to my dismay. I'm not sure if Meross sells any RGBW light strips, but generally speaking you get what you pay for, there is a reason these are cheap and look nasty.

For comparison, I also own the Tapo L920-5 which similarly lacks dedicated white LEDs, but at least the Tapo strip has better warm white rendering and doesn't look quite as horrible as the Meross with its strange off-white tints.

I would advise people to steer clear of the MSL320 unless you purely going to use them in colour mode, rather than cool or warm whites. If you want nice warm whites, either get something that has dedicated white LEDs (RGBW or RGBWIC), or you can also get no-name LED strips that do only warm/cool whites (no colours), which should be a fair bit cheaper.

      • +1

Thanks for this comment - I've noticed a few I've got which are RDB have this same problem - the warm white is '' ghostly, or ghastly!

I've been looking into the white only ones available on amazon and ebay, but they don't seem to be cheaper, seems the bare bottom is about $25 with a wall plug though less if you don't get a plug but then you need to buy a plug, so about $25, and these units are often hit and miss according to reviews.

At this stage I didn't get confidence to buy any of them, because I want a quality nice warm white, reasonably priced and reliable and can't tell what that would be from what's available!

  • wondering is this led powered via usb or powerplug provided?

  • Wouldn't govee be better? 27.19 - My govee for the TV ambience has been great.

    • I couldn't tell you what the differences are - I've never tried Govee before honestly.

Overall had decent experience with Meross lighting so I re-purchase rather than faff about with refunds if it doesn't work

  • I need a bright led for kitchen under cabinet. Any recommendations?

    • +1

This one is good imo - it's all luck of the draw (silicon lottery of LEDs), but I've found this one had good SMDs

      • Thanks frowny! Do I need to check for lumens output ?

        • +1

I'm not sure I'd bother honestly - if it fits your needs then you've got a good brand and then load up in the future. Maybe I'm just too old to be switching trying to min-max the last 1% of performance anymore hahaha. I just want things to work 100% of the time the very first time

  • Anyone tried the Ikea ones and can compare?

  • Anybody able to recommend decent joiners for these?
