Looks interesting. Few big questions though - any bank integrations? It doesn't appear so from looking at the site and that's a MAJOR selling point most of us look for in a budgeting app.

We deliberately chose not to integrate with banks. Australian banks already offer spend tracking, but fall short on future planning and budgeting. Data privacy was also a concern and even with Open Banking, we saw a demand from people to have a budget that doesn't connect to banks.

Our main goal, though, was to create an app that makes budgeting effortless with less need for reconciliations. Budgetezy lets you quickly update your budget for regular incomes, expenses, or high-level allowances (like groceries) where needed, or just keep it recurring where it's predictable.

      • Cool, privacy is obviously a great feature. Though offering the option to upload my .csv files from downloaded bank data would still be an option :)

        • Have been asked for CSV upload a few times, we're working on it but the banks don't give up the categories so it takes some work to get right!

Would be happy to get your feedback on the app, there's a 30 day free trial with no credit card required so it's easy to get in and test it out :)

    Firefly III
because free and doesn't share data

    • I was thinking of installing this on Unraid as a docker. Is it more geared towards small businesses and still practical for home budgets?

      • +1

I would not recommend this for small business. 100% for personal budgeting

        • Good to know. Ill give it a crack!

  • Yearly subscription pricing is STEEP at $72 per year (for now).

Looks interesting, but what do you mean by "Industry grade encryption"? Is there a reason why this information should be stored other than locally?

    • +2

To clarify, it's normally $6/month or $60/year. Appreciate the feedback though and we'll update the homepage to make that clearer.

As for encryption, we built it to support web and mobile, with the same account, so that users can access their budget on any device. We also built support for partner budgeting which needs the data stored in the cloud so partners can work on it together.

      • Isn't $6/month the same as $72/year? Understand there's a discount if you're paying early, but it's still $72/year at the end of the day.

And this not being stored locally is an absolute dealbreaker…

        • It says right on the bottom of page "$6 per month, or pay annually to get 2 months for free". So the 2 mos free makes it cost you $60 a year.

          • @scrimshaw: Ah I see - missed that. Only saw the 1 month free and was trying to make the maths math
