As far as I know all wireless cameras irrespective of brand tend to suffer from this problem. But Reolink innovated and launched the Altas PT ultra which solves this (Atleast on paper) by having a pre-record feature that essentially records up to 10 seconds prior to the event.
My experience is its more so solar cams. Not the fact they are wireless. My wireless cams are great. My solar ones are highly unreliable.
No feedback on the 4, but Argus 3 pro is garbage. I have 2 and both have the same issues. Misses motion detections, when it does decide to record it misses the first 5 seconds of the motion so often the point of interest is exiting the field of view by the time it captures. Their software is shit in terms of feedback re battery charging so it's very difficult to calculate if your solar panel is doing what it is supposed to. Top it off with shit customer service from reolink. What more could you ask for 😂👌
But that is not a problem exclusive to Reolink its with all battery powered cameras. This is the downside of going with wireless camera's instead of proper wired one's.
The shit customer service does not apply to all cameras.
I haven't tried other brand of battery cameras but I am sure there would have to be better software from other brands that gives actual feedback on charging rates etc.
Anyone used these? I've had all 3 previous iterations.
Just wondering if there's still a 3-5 second lag between motion detection and recording?
