      And buying from GOG gives you actual ownership of the game (via an offline installer) as opposed to a licence tied to your account.

      Believe you won’t have to use their launcher even. Just download the installer.

      Can then add it as a non-Steam game to the Steam launcher if you really want, although there’s no Steam integration other than it being a way to launch the game.

        You will need the GOG Galaxy launcher in order to play with Steam players via co-op multiplayer though, pretty sure.

            @teacherer: My understanding is you can play co-op with Steam friends if you buy on GOG. Don't have to be on the same launcher to co-op together.

      If you're going to pirate, you might as well just get it from a website that lets you get the original installer files that were directly downloaded from GOG.

      Easier to patch to the latest update, and makes it easier to transition to the purchased copy if you were to buy it sometime down the track.
