  • I prefer the alternatives offered by pygtech

My favourite is the Ulanzi F38 v2.
It fits the wide straps of some of my bags and I find the F38 system more budget friendly and overall nicer then the PD mount.

I had the PD Clip V3 and it is overpriced (like everything PD) and from memory the plate sits loose in the mount.
The screws can also work themselves loose overtime so it may be a good idea to apply some loctite.

      • Awesome, never heard of these! Will look into them

This is the way to go… Ulanzi F38.

The PD clip is more expensive and more cumbersome to operate due to a tiny release button.

However, the biggest disadvantage of the PD capture clip is that the locking mechanism doesn't always securely lock in place when using an anchor on the clip base (which is the entire purpose of the clip). This then can result in the camera sitting just loosely in the clip and therefore could easily slip out of the clip.

The F38 has it's locking mechanism differently designed and always securely locks the camera in place. The larger release button makes it much easier to get the camera out after a little muscle memory.

      • that's my favourite too. I have a couple.

    • Woah this brand was totally off my radar, I do have a leash, cuff, slide lite and OG kickstarter capture clip, their straps and other accessories look interesting and reasonable price.

  • Does this work with ricoh Griii?

    • It attaches to the tripod mount so it'll work just fine!

  • They got clones of this on Ali for like $25

Right, but would you trust a $25 clip on a thousand+ $$ camera? Personally I wouldn't. Sure you're paying for a brand, but its a mental thing. I wouldn't be in the right head space to shoot if I had to worry about my camera falling off every time I put it away.
