    OMG!

    Maximum load 27kgs

    Oh, ok.

Cool, we are going to the quarry this weekend.

Hang on, Even this $10 carabiner is rated 700kg (7kN) https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com.au/products/miniwire-c…
27kg is what you expect on an $8 toy multi-pack from K-mart.

Yeah this thing is called a carabiner but serves a different purpose. It should be called a carabiner shaped hook. It's more a hook than a carabiner.

      But I need a Hero.

    • 27kg rating? Would whip.

This is one of those things that sounds really great in theory but… I've got one and have taken it travelling (overseas) but have basically never used it - it just sits there waiting on the handle of my backpack for one of those opportune moments where it's social advertising says it's great for (like hanging a bag over an open door, or off a table, or securing a bag to something, or hanging it somewhere you don't want it on the floor, or …)

We used similar to strap gear to the pram handle when we holidayed with little kids. It changed everything. I remember telling my wife off when she came home with this $20 clip but by the end of the holiday she was a hero.

yeah seen so many comments to this effect on travel reddit. some people seem to get use out of them though and love them?

couldn't see myself ever using it personally

    • +2

We've used it to hang our bags off the ground in overseas foodcourts where the floor is oily or dirty. Works most of the time, only issue sometimes is balancing the bags on the hook is required so the whole thing doesnt fall

Toilets. So many don't have hooks. Just this alone makes it almost essential while travelling.

I bought my wife the mini and she uses it to hang her handbag from Cafe tables.

How is this any better than something like this from Bunnings for $5.67? Yes, its stainless steel so certainly heavier, but it also can handle 350kg

For hanging ya bag from table edge, just use the basic S hooks? $3.30 for a pack of 4 hooks.

These aren't going to stay handing on most surfaces, apart from maybe a chainlink fence or a thin door.
There's also no way of attaching a S hook onto your bag.

I have it. It comes in really handy. Lives on my sling, especially well paired with peak design slings with side straps for their clips, and I can hang them off my roller suitcase, or off tables and chairs.

Expensive for what it is, but I don't regret my purchase. I have these in 3 sizes, go for the medium

i just got a aliexpress clone for $5

  • Not a bad price for a Medium. But mediums are quite big aren't they? Not very practice to hang off a back pack or sling?
