@Neoika: Hmm ok thanks, it's been over 30 minutes but I guess I'll wait a bit longer then to see if any email shows up.
@BargainMe: @bargainMe Have you got the confirmation from provider? How long it took?
@MXsoul: Yeah I got it in the end, took like an hour or so.
Have referred someone else to OVO and getting $10 referral credit each month… should I give that up and sign up for this?
@Manyo would I still be able to get credits per this offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879946 as well as econnex gift card if I sign up?
This doesn't come up for me as an option through econnex, but there is the 250+250 for nrma members and 200+200 for non members options.
Can you please shed some light on this NRMA offer?
The dodgy thing is it's not recommending the cheapest provider compared to www.energymadeeasy.gov.au.
And despite choosing sort by lowest to highest, it's still hiding some lower cost ones at the bottom, so good luck with your due diligenceThat is if you want to stay long term with retailer. Best to check other offers.
But if regularly switching - higher tariffs are far outweighed by benefit offered to switch.
Switching usually every 2 months, haven't paid for electricity in years.
(Low consumption electric only house, no solar)
Beware: many power companies do a credit check, some do a hard credit check(some do soft check) which pushes your credit score down significantly. Soft check has smaller impact and recovery is far faster than a hard check. So if you’re planning for a mortgage etc then keep this in mind.
Powershop, I can confirm does a hard credit check.Regularly switch electricity retailers. For benefits offered💰
Credit score was unaffected.
Been with PowerShop (4 times) & others many times.
My credit score is still "excellent" (over 900/1000).Your >900 score of Illion or Experian?
different credit check providers are used by different companies, powershop uses Illion.Experian - occasionally checked on Commbank app
Luckily, credit score is of no concern to me. Know nothing almost about it - beside score.
Just notice the fears of a credit check for some in comments.(Noticed you were negged for asking a question, so upvoted you to compensate)
If you have a credit ban on file powershop will just request you send them your pdf credit file.
This avoids having checks on your account.
I believe they delete the pdf after sighting it.as someone who worked in credit risk, i can tell you no good credit risk policy cares about utility credit checks.
isn’t the lending criteria different for different lenders? or is it an industry wide standard to ignore frequent utility switches on credit file(even if it signals that the person is not a stable customer)?
This is weird and I hope this doesn't catch people out. But in the terms and conditions it says to use the link:
https://www.econnex.com.au/promo-november
But if you look at the link it actually provides its:
https://www.econnex.com.au/promo-november?rcCode=596766
I wonder if they'll deny you the card if you didn't use the right URL with the parameters. The code is applied in the energy or broadband link.
Looks like a good time to churn to Swoop and get this bonus, can I expect Econnex to pass my order straight on to Swoop? If it takes over 4 days I'll be on the hook for a new month of my existing provider. Any experiences with this gladly received.
Looks like Powershop has done a sneaky and quietly dropped their bonus from $150 to $50 when connecting via eConnex
Econnex still showing 150$ credit for Powershop. Where did you get this information from?
Econnex. I should have mentioned I was talking about gas
Oh ok. I confirm that electricity is still 150$ off eith Powershop
I got the same result as well. It's showing this when I combined Electricity and Gas offer: "A one off $150 (incl. GST) sign up credit will be applied to your first electricity bill. A one off $50 (incl. GST) sign up credit will be applied to your first gas bill."
Does anyone know if this will stack with the Engie offer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879946
Thanks
It won't. However in my area Energie are offering $200 off gas and $200 off electricity via this Econnex deal.
Thnx for that. In my area they giving a credit too but I have received it in last 12 months. Can I still get the credit if I sign up using my partner's details or it depends on the address?
I can't confirm but I'd say you would be fine doing that. I've got the same promo a few times from Powershop and Energie doing the same thing.
Do you get confirmation that the Econnex promo was applied?
I used the link and received an email stating "Your Signup Confirmation for Electricity & Gas", but nothing about the bonus Mastercards.
Had to open and close my browser halfway to fix something, and I tried the link again anyway. Hope it didn't cause issues. The email is the confirmation, it will have a reference number with it. Keep the email / reference number.
Anyone get charge for New Development Fee $300 for superloop nbn through the econnex site? cheers
Can i still submitted an application today to get the bonus Master Card?
Yes, the deal expires today.
Thanks
Are we able to schedule a connection date for later for the NBN via the econnex website ?
Want to know this as well, as I want to schedule my NBN for 09-Dec
Edit: Your Internet Plan must be activated within 30 days from the date of application.
Is the 30 days from the promo T&C or just that superloop only let you choose 30 days forward?
For those arriving late for this Deal:
In the past the offer closed earlier than time shown by Ozbargain clock (midnight today AEDT)
At least 1 member missed out in past & weren't happy😢Contacted Econnex - not sure if fixed.
Just remembered to sign up again for electricity with PowerShop ($200 MC + $150 credit)
Application was accepted. Will be 5th time with PowerShop.
Last time ($150 gift cards + $150 electricity credit) was December '23.Why does it say for Superloop's NBN lol - You can withdraw your order at any time, a withdrawal fee of up to $99.95 may apply.
@nocure - i signed up for internet and power. The ecconnex email confirmation does not mention anything about the signup bonus or mastercard GC. I did sign up using the link on Ozb.
Do we get any kind of confirmation detailing that info? How do you know you are eligible for the GC?
The gift card will come from "Karta Rewards", mine went into junk on outlook.
Thanks. I was hoping econnex would send you some kind of confirmation that you will definitely get the GC. It doesnt seem to be mentioned anywhere other than the other on the website, which has now been taken down.
Powershop mentions sign-up credits in the offer email. MC giftcard is handled by Econnex and only time will tell.
Anyone who used this offer to sign up to Engie receive a confirmation email from Engie?
I got a confirmation email from them station it will take up to 3 months to connect lol.
Switch to powershop from Agl, took 3 days to completed
Received email this morning of successful switch.
5th time with PS on same email & address, so checked am on new account👍
$150 credit in account💰Where do you see the $150 as credit in the account, or is it on your first bill? Mine says "you have $0.00 in your account" when I login?
Years of using PS, find mobile app handy & far easier to use…
[If have smart meter - "Daily usage" gives graph of power consumption every 30min.]
In app, click on pull down menu (3 horizontal lines - top left in Android)
At top shows account: name, number, balance: $150 credit@INFIDEL: Got it - it says the same for me in the app, thanks for the help!
@Marcuspt: Great!
Always best to check credit, concession details if any, etc ASAP!Once when switched through Econnex, was incorrectly put on 1 of my old accounts by PS.
Realised something had gone wrong - as there was no $150cr as "new customer"!!
💰
Also that meant no incentive to switch from Econnex!!💰Rang PS (NZ call centre).
They saw my old accounts… (My thought… Oh dear!)Not a problem - set me up on new account with $150cr💰
PS rang back later that day to confirm everything was good.
And received the incentive to switch from Econnex!💰Other retailers (I've used many) would not be as helpful! Or answered my call so quickly. (With a friendly Kia-ora!)
So you use all same details ( name, address, email, phone number) and still get this 5th time sign up bonus? Did you have to wait 12 months between each time?
Yes. Often only few months away with PowerShop. No rule on time needed to be considered a new customer - that I know of with PS. Unlike other retailers.
Reminder for those on a concession:
*Have managed accounts for elderly relatives.Switching retailers usually requires YOU to add your concession type & number to new energy account. And check it is applied.
Even though signup here asks if you are on concession, it does nothing.Otherwise you won't receive rebate on your bill until you do. Retailers usually say it can't be backdated. Its a Government rebate paid to retailer, so they need to claim it - to pass on to you.
Typically reduces bill by almost $1/d.Concessions aren't just for people receiving a Government payment.
In Qld, all residents over 65 not in full time employment can receive a Seniors Card (with this & other benefits).I assume the 30 days starts from the day Alinta connected me right, and not the email from Econnex with a reference number which was 5 days before that? The price I'm getting from Alinta isn't great, so I want to stay with them the minimum amount of days possible.
Just weighing up who to go with next now that the 30 days is almost up.
Engie are a massive ripoff in my area, and probably the most expensive out of anyone, but a free $200 will at least cover 1 free month before I can then switch back to Powershop who will hopefully still be offering $150 in a couple of months. Powershop are by far the cheapest in my area.
Correct, it's from the connection date not the email. Yeah the econnex rates aren't the best, I guess the key is timing. Jump off at just the right time into another signup deal that can hopefully be coupled with the gift cards. I've had a good run for about 6 months. Been able to churn after roughly 40 - 50 days into another signup bonus with gift cards.
Just received my gift cards from a previous deal. Check your inbox's people. From 'Karta Rewards"
When did u switch?
I believe this was from the September promo.

Yes, and your selected supplier should email you later.
