The question was how long generally. This information is too specific
Will this cash back top of each provider gives ? Example powershop $300 credit ?
Powershop credit offer plan show up for me. As long as the plan and offer is available through ecconex website you should be getting whatever is advised.
Previously signed up through Econnex with PowerShop.
Received both benefits.Used different email to sign up to PowerShop to become a "new customer".
(Initially no PS credit as they had added me to an old account. Was quickly fixed without any hassle. They contacted me to confirm. Great customer service!)@INFIDEL can we change the plan from 'switch saver' to 'EV Day Saver' after subscribing and still be eligible for both Econnex and PowerShop benefits as well as shopback cashback?
No experience with changing Plans after signing up via Econnex.
But doubt it as you are no longer signed up to original plan.
Beyond qualifying 30d connection - OK.If Econnex doesn't receive payment for attracting "new customer" to Retailer, there's no MC issued.
as well as Shopback cashback
In past it's via Econnex. If so - can't double dip.@INFIDEL: Thanks
I'm confused. Were you still with PowerShop when you signed up as a new customer again or were you coming back to PowerShop from somewhere else?
I'm at PowerShop at the moment and it's easily the cheapest plan for me, so I would need to move to a worse plan to pick up this $200 card.
You can't become a "new customer" while an existing customer.
I left to another retailer (via Econnex Deal at good rate) for about 2 months each time.
(They still had my old accounts on PowerShop system. But got "new customer" credit.)By switching every few months, haven't paid for electricity for 3 years!!
Qld Govt $1000 electricity rebate now mean I make a nice profit💰💰
(Electric only house, low usage, no solar)@INFIDEL: I'm new to churning electricity providers. How does the switch work when you do it between meter reads? Would you be charged based on an estimate? Or is it postponed until your next meter read?
Would a smart meter make it easier?@igorekh: Smart meters do make it easier & faster.
Otherwise a manual read is needed.
(Too long ago since had old meter, to remember.)
Wait. Same address but just a different email? Well played.
Where do you see the powerShop deal?
If you cannot see it, it probably isn't available in your area.
Bugger, just changed to AGL a couple days ago to get velocity points… spewing
Is there a cooling off period? Eg, in Victoria, there’s a mandatory 10 day cooling off period. If this applies to your situation, give AGL a call and say you no longer want to proceed and you’re apply for something else.
Yes I am in cooling off period however don't want to risk/bother if they have already done a credit check on me. I churn credit cards too so less credit checks the better haha!
I will still get 30,000 velocity points anyway which is worth around $300 and should get them quicker than the $300 here.
I'm in exactly the same boat, because i joined AGL last week too, for the Velocity points
AND
I, too, churn credit cards, so after reading your comment, I'll stay with AGL for them points.@whyisave: Can confirm AGL did a credit check and my score dropped 26 points this month, dropped more than a new credit card enquiry usually does
@Brick50: How did you check your 'credit score' ?
Was this through Equifax ?@whyisave: I use Wisr, checks both Equifax and Experian. I used to be around 1050/1200 before churning cards and down to 890/1200 now.
You will find both Equifax and Experian have different enquiries listed, some enquiries don't show up on one report or the other
@Brick50: Thanks for that.
I will try to suss it out, this weekend.I've check with Equifax, a couple of years ago, … but that's before my 4-6 card churn of the last 2 years, ha.
So, I'm pretty sure that's the reason, why HSBC rejected my credit card application, 3 months ago, but BOQ did not afterwards.
I still haven't received my gift card from the last deal…
Same here. It states up to 120 days post transfer of service. Have few more days left, so waiting to see if I get it..
I got mine at approx 90 days, email looks like 100% a scam so just triple check you haven't already got them
It was in my spam folder
subject line is "Here is your $100 Gift Card" from Karta Rewards
Same for me, no gift card and I'm reviewing my spam emails one by one.
contact them and provide your reference numbers that were given when you signed up to the utility provider. I was given mine when I sent them an email
Ecconex
Have had a bad experience with them via shopback. Rejected a genuine CB and there's no response whatsoever from SB over 4 months this week.
@gotyourback hope you read comments when people tag you?
Shopback sucks. Reduced multiple cash backs to zero, all genuine. Got reply on one, none on other. Then they rejected my referral, I opened a ticket didn't get a reply followed up and was told I got rejected because of "several self referrals". Shocking because I have only ever referred three people (none of them myself), one got approved, one rejected (friend didnt end up purchasing anything) and then this one which led to the accusation that I am a serial self referrer.
Anyhoo, stopped using since I noticed this. I'd rather use Econnex directly.
End rant 😅
Ask @Manyo at Econnex.
ShopBack has gone down the toilet since the mass layoffs.
https://powerretail.com.au/shopback-cuts-a-quarter-of-workfo…
I have approved cashback with $0 paid for numerous transactions.
Signed up during July promo and Still waiting for the gift card to arrive
Myself and others got their July promo about 3 weeks ago. You might want to contact Econnex right away.
Thanks for the info. Just contacted them and was advise the gift card will be send out from first week of December.
Mine arrived on literally the last week of evaluation. My shopbacks have also gone through with no issues.
Genuinely have not had an issue with econnex, despite how many dodgy spam calls I get… can't be certain its them either
CHANCE to get $400
You MAY getThis doesn’t look like confirmed bonus mastercard.
That wording they have chosen sure is weird, they sound so uncertain
"(up to $400)" Not complex! Simple maths…
Value of MasterCards received depends on total of types of services you legitimately sign up for.
So total of $400 for all:
Electricity $200, Gas $100, Internet $100
$200 if you only want to switch electricity retailer. There's a chance you may get that
Worked for me every & many times with Econnex Deals for years💰
@INFIDEL: …
With years of positive experience signing up to these Econnex Deals for equivalent of thousands of $ back…The likely legal reason for the wording of "may" in t&c:
You can sign up to this Deal, but it's up to you to allow the switch to proceed.
So don't cancel the switch. And you need to meet t&c - eg remain a customer for the agreed period.
No MC if you leave retailer early!Like with other cashback Deals - if Econnex doesn't get paid - you receive nothing!
At all cashback businesses on Ozbargain - things can go wrong.
Often a problem with retailer.
If so, lodge a complaint with them. (@Manyo) They have responded positively in the past."May" - it's mainly up to what you do!!
They can't control that. So need to word it like that in legal t&c.
I did switch via Econnex during last promotion and got the $400 via email. Since my gas connection took a while to switch, the bonus was paid out after a while. But, worth the effort. I got cheaper plans as well.
Can you stack it with the cashback from ShopBack as well? To me it doesn't look like you can as the site it takes you to makes no mention of the Bonus Prepaid Mastercards.
Hmmz.. i did it through shopback. Not sure if it stacked too.
Is this a sure thing or a competition? should this be moved to Comps in case its not confirmed if everyone availing this will get a GC?
It's not a competition, I've never had an issue receiving the gift cards.
Got every payout for switching electricity through Econnex for years!
Same! Got the July promo earlier this month, Should get the August promo mid December and there will be another coming in early February + this one.
Is it only for new users of those electricity providers on Econnex or alright for returning users as well?
You can be a returning customer. I chop and change between Powershop, Enegie and AGL and always receive the gift cards.
Thanks
username checks out
It's what I do.
As in many Deals here - use a different email to be sure.
Worked for me in these Deals for years.
I just signed up for power at a new address in the last week - wonder if i can switch already haha
Does this affect the government rebate? The $75 ones paid quarterly?
Nope, those have to be paid out to you regardless of who you are with at the time
Is it new customer ONLY?
Returning is fine.
Man, I just ordered superloop change with the Black Friday offer 15 minutes ago. I have received the confirmation order for a future connection date. How do I cancel that and receive the $100 gift card as I join the same plan through these guys?
Hmm, I was just signing up to a Dodo plan on Econnex, and it's disappeared? It doesn't show up in providers anymore, and I literally just had it selected.
Can this be Shopback + Econnex + Powershop ?
Econnex + Powershop yes, I believe people have got the shopback with it in the past, but as a general rule it doesn't stack with shopback.
So just do it through shopback and hope it stacks, if it doesn't you still get Econnex + Powershop or……
yes wants to know if worth trying Shopback + Econnex + Powershop
or to be on safer side use
Econnex + PowershopI'd suggest the most likely outcome would be Shopback + Powershop, but I'm unsure. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
@churningNburning: We it says you just need to have the applications made between 25th November 2024 and 2nd December 2024.
So technically you should still get the Econnex. Nothing about shopback… so maybe 🤔 no shopback@Woosta: Sorry this is what I meant. Econnex + Powershop bonus and hopefully Shopback.
Dont think you can. Shopback link takes you to specific Econnex/Shopback URL. So you dont have access to this promo link.
@ScruffTheJanitor: I just called Econnex and its been confirmed by Denis (incase i forget his name) that my application through Shopback is all good to go with the promotion. Was gona cancel if it didnt, so now just not sure about shopback
@Woosta: so you possibly can get all three?
@BuyNowThinkLater: Best case scenario, but right now just 2 or maybe 0… 🤔 since its still in processing stages
@Woosta: To be eligible to receive the Card you must connect to the Internet Plan, Electricity Plan, or Gas Plan via the following link: https://www.econnex.com.au/promo-november
@rocket-tear: Yes i have connected to the electricity and gas
@Woosta: did you get them connected thru the promo-november link? I clicked thru the shopback but couldn't find the promo-november link on their site.
@rocket-tear: just use this link, not shopback.
Shopback is via Ecconex.
So cant get 2 cashback offers for same service from same business.Yes, you are correct. Please use this link and avoid using Shopback for the promotion. While I initially went through the Shopback link, it caused significant issues. Although I eventually received the promotion, I had to resubmit another application for it to work properly.
If you click through shopback link to land on Ecconex website and there is no this promotion information on the Ecconex website so will only get shopback bonus, right?
How often are people churning the providers and which providers do you churn through? I need to jump on this bandwagon.
Thanks
I churn mostly through Enegie, Powershop and whoever else has sign up bonuses on top of the Econnex giftcards. I usually jump off as soon as my sign up credits are used up (after 30 days, usually around 60 days)
Thanks mate. Appreciate the response. I'll get on this offer. My NBN is due for churn so its great timing to do both NBN and utilities.
Note:
If you provide details different to those held by existing retailer (shown on account & bills), switch of retailer can't legally proceed.
So does not qualify for MC!Previously some people didn't provide their legitimate information, then complained when the offer was not received.
I have existing credit balance on my AGL power account. If I decide to switch, will I lose the credit balance?
It's your money. The retailer has to refund.
UNLESS the credit is non-refundable (a bonus credit applied to your account by retailer - stated as non-refundable. Can happen with retailer sign up credit.).
Thanks OP switched to Swoop NBN. Will churn later after getting gift card.
Sorry of I'm completely missing something but I'm not sure how these calculations are working out the cheapest plan.
The one it is showing as cheapest has a supply charge of 106.293c/day and a peak kW rate of 36.938c/kWh which is 32c per day more than red energy that is a ways down the list and 7c more per kWh.
Am I missing an input that is throwing off my mental calculations? Are they averaging across the bonus credits you receive since red energy has no bonus?
Best to first know your actual usage (from account / bill) for different times of year.
(Mine: 1 person. No solar. No gas. No pool. So is low. A bit higher with aircon for Summer. No Winter heating.)
For low electricity usage, daily supply charge is more relevant. Higher usage, c/kWh is more important in calculations.
Some retailers have peak & off-peak rates (if you have a smart meter installed). Makes calculating harder. Consider what time you use electricity.
If you have Solar, FIT makes it a bit more complex calculation.
Bonus from retailer is separate. Used to pay your bills.
I'm not sure how these calculations are working out the cheapest plan.
Am too lazy to do that! (Taught how to spreadsheet at Uni.)
If you switch retailers frequently through offers like this (often every 2 months for years for me) - a higher tarrif doesn't matter much. I usually don't look at it unless it is high.
Gave up calculations long ago.You get $200 here + any retailer bonus to pay those (possibly higher) bills. Plus any State & Federal rebates.
Haven't paid an electricity bill in years.
Mine is middle of the road for how simple it is in that it is one fixed price for anything other than hot water (what the peak rate is in my first comment) and one controlled load rate (pretty much the same for the two I was comparing so I left it out for simplicity). My last bill was ~700kWh peak and ~500kWh controlled load.
That's why I can't work out how the ones with both higher tariff and higher supply charge is the cheaper one. Do the prices include the "Discount" listed on the different options or do I need to take off the 11% discount offered by Energie to make it comparable to Red (no offered discount)?
Edit: Also I am very happy to do the spreadsheet, but with just these three inputs (peak, controlled load, supply charge) there is no way Energie will work out cheaper than Red Energy so I must be missing something.
Thanks for clarifying your question. Was not certain what you meant by discount on tariff with Energie.
I don't have those offers to look at where I am.
Someone with experience with those retailers may help.
Or ask Energie / Econnex. Plenty of time (7d) to decide.
I have the same question, the best rate (both supply and usage) plan was listed halfway down the page, with many more expensive plans showing a cheaper annual rate. How come?!
I go to Energie from Econnex, after the Energie credit shows up in my account, does the credit go with me when I switch to another provider?
No
The Econnex privacy policy is crazy. They must fund the gift cards selling our data lol. https://www.econnex.com.au/privacy-policy
How do you know if the sign up has actually worked? I put in all my details and then at the end it just went back to the main page https://www.econnex.com.au/promo-november
I haven't received any confirmation emails or anything like that. You'll receive an email with title "Your Signup Confirmation for XXX" and reference number is generated.
Was the whole sign up done on eConnex site?

Generally how long do I need to keep both plans to get the $300 (electricity & gas)? I m thinking to sign up for 1 month and sign up somewhere else.
