If you are new to TCB, how would you check your TCB account for previous purchases?

      • thanks, 5yr max so fingers crossed :)

  • +1

    Free 💰 @noelhoi @HopSkipJumpFallSplat
    @neoleo has to wait 30 days 😂

  • Wait, so if I buy the 5 year plan I get VPN for free and also $60 for free?

    • Yessire.

      • If you add all the add ons you can get it up to $2000, wonder if you'll get $2600 back

        • Addons will invalidate cb, just purchase the basic sub

EDIT: @trixieb waiiitt.. the wordings aren’t there anymore..? @tightarse can you confirm if addons will invalidate cashback like previous T&C states?

          • @noelhoi: It's still there on the website (& also the other cashback providers):

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will exclude upsold products, GST, other taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

            https://www.topcashback.com.au/purevpn/

            • @trixieb: Oh ew its further down the next drop down menu. Nvm I’m blindz. Theres your answer @kizzy
Correction: cb will only be paid out for the base of the plan, not including the addons, if you were tryna use the service legitly.

Longtime lurker eh? Well done on your first post beating @trixieb to the punch! 🤣

    • +1

I've been mistaken for TCB and CR staff for posting too many cashback posts 🤣

    • +2

Most of the time I got beaten by others.
This time I double and even triple-check before posting to make sure it is not a duplicate post.

A quick way to check if a deal has been posted for say TopCashback is to use this URL:

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/topcashback.com.au

You can replace the part after /deals/ with any store you like 👍

      • +1

@SaberXLancer I was distracted writing an Amazon deal that went out of stock just before I clicked submit. Then distracted by Cashrewards BWS 🤣 Well done on your first post 😀

TA, I didn't know about that. Thanks.

With rd gone. Might have to go down vpn path for torrenting

    • +2

Wot? I'm using RD right now, unless we're talking about a different RD.

      • French court ruling means parts of its service being disabled (like the API apps use to know if a file is cached on their servers)

Hoping it's just a speed bump on the highway of streaming :)

        • Does RD still keep the torrents cache for instant downloads?

          • +1

@nfr: Yeah, apart from ones they get directed to take down.
Just no API access to know if it's actually cached.

I've set my torrentio up now to sort via seeders as increased chance it's cached based on popularity (haven't put it to the test yet)

            • +1

@SBOB: Thanks sounds like RD will be fine.

  • How’s the tracking? It’s a lot to drop $200 and hope for $$260 back…

    • My 23rd Aug purchase was just available for Payout this morning. Now reusing that fund to fund this one. #InfiniteMoneyHax

      • Thanks. I’ll do the purchase shortly :)

Edit: $197USD for the 5 year max plan. Let’s hope it tracks and pays out.

        • I paid with the credit card. Will charge back if any issues

    • Ordered this morning. Tracked in 15 minutes using TCB App

  • just cashout my cashback. it is good to get paid to use the vpn. the vpn is pretty bad many wrong countries. the free urban vpn is better.

  • Anyone know if the India serves allow Netflix?
Might actually use this VPN if so for Netflix India to get around the 30day region change lockout.

  • +1

So the 5 year max plan would be best bang for your dollarydoo here, yeah?

    • +1

That’s what i ordered. Fingers crossed.

    • +1

Yeps thats what we all did back in Aug

  • What sort of cc or debit card is best to be used? Is the payment recurring?

    • Any card with no international fees is good. Payment recurs every billing period (month or 1/2/5 years) and PureVPN makes it a hassle to cancel. Use a disposable card like revolut/wise if you're not bothered

      • The 5 year plan doesn’t require cancellation since the system does not allow auto-renew due to the plan being too long (5yrs). I find my 5yr plan did not have cancellation button, but the 2yr does have.

        • there is a cancellation button when i purchased the 5 year plan, if i click it, would that mean my 5 year plan is cancelled, or is it just the renewal that is cancelled?

          • @ashleelauren: I believe renewal? But from memory in the past 5yr didnt have the button. Regardless, cancel it only after your tracked cb is payable.

            • @noelhoi: thanks! i just checked with the AI bot on the website, this is correct, it is recurring. will cancel after cb is payable.

            • +1

@noelhoi: I haven't bought this offer yet. Does your new 5 year plan have a cancellation button for renewal? My previous 5 year plan from August didn't have one and the customer service agent said there isn't an auto-renewal for 5 years. Perhaps it has changed recently.

              • +1

@trixieb: This is what I see:

                Subscription page

60 month drop down, shows Cancel button

24 month drop down, no cancel button

Does anybody else experience this? Get both 60 and 24 months with unique usernames?

                • @noelhoi: Thanks.

                • +1

@noelhoi: Thought I better sign up in case TA ends the deal early. Paid A$305.15 directly using the same card as before. Cashback $383.03 tracked in 50 minutes.

Only the 60 month plan shows in my account. Don't have the 24 month plan:

                  • @trixieb: Do you click cancel after subscribe?

I had been changing the payment method to avoid recurring payment.

                    • @a1234my: Not yet. You would only cancel after PureVPN has paid the cashback. This would probably be in 3 months time in February 2025.

My first PureVPN purchase in August was paid yesterday. I will contact customer service to cancel the auto renewal. That order doesn't have cancel option.

                  • +1

@trixieb: i signed up to a 5yr plan 1 hour ago. I can see "Cancel subscription" option in my login page too. Top cash back was tracked after ~1hour too A$382.82

                    • @DarthLord: Tried to cancel my 60 month subscription on chat since August cashback came through. They said it’s done but billing cycle still says 60 months. Then asked to remove my payment method & they said if it’s removed it’ll deactivate the account. Referred me to the retentions team email and waiting to hear from them.

Anyway paid with PayPal back then so just cancelled the payment subscription in PayPal. Was going to use a debit card for the better rate but worth the PayPal fee for the ability to cancel it easily.

  • To anyone who purchased the 5 year max plan and has received tracking.. how much did you pay in AUD and how much is the tracking's cashback amount?

    • Do NOT use Paypal IF you don’t wanna be slugged Paypal’s horrendous auto-conversion rate.
Scroll up abit and you’d find this, looks like not via PP. If via PP would be AU$200+

      • -1

You can get a good exchange rate with PayPal, there's just a bit of setup you need to do first - see Clear's explanation at the bottom of their posts https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879271

        • +2

I did USD last time there was still no option to change

        • I am aware of that. Unfortunately that’s not the case here.
When checking out via PP on PureVPN’s website, the

          • Click "See currency options"
          • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD

option is not available, it auto force you to pay via AUD with inflated rate.

          • @noelhoi: That's odd, it's been working for me. I've never actually done that last bit either, it just charges in USD
            https://i.imgur.com/PHOEERC.jpeg

            • @aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa: I’m speaking from experience back in Aug but happy to be corrected otherwise. Others have mentioned the same as me.

              • @noelhoi: @aaaaaaaaaaaa Just wondering what payment card did you use? I had the same PayPal experience as @noelhoi where it automatically charged my card in AUD. With the AliExpress purchase, I could choose USD at checkout but not with PureVPN. My card has no international transaction fees but was still charged extra $8 for using PayPal.

                • +1

@trixieb: I've been using a standard Revolut virtual card

                  • @aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa: Do you have actual $USD balance in your revolut? That may make the difference.

                  • @aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa: I just paid mine and also didn't get an option to change to USD, PayPal has charged me in USD but after clicking the actual invoice, it's showing PayPal's conversion rates under "Exchange rate" with how much I was charged. Could you check yours and report back?

Only after paying could I change the future payment method to use my bank's conversion fee under Settings. Sucks cause my card kept getting declined so I had no other choice.

                • +1

@trixieb: I put Wise card in PayPal, no conversion too. Always get charged in USD. But I have USD balance in Wise account. I haven't tried with AUD account in Wise only, maybe the same with Revolut too.

                  • @neoleo: Thanks. I don't have Wise or Revolut.

    • There is no option to choose card currency in PayPal even if you have a free international transaction card

Looks like the 5-year plan is reporting to members at $383.03 cashback, and 2-year plan at $231.68 cashback. Please note these can/will vary depending on other factors, but generally this is what we're seeing so far.

      • +1

My 5-year plan is tracked at $383.03

          Great work 👍

Guys, if requested to accept cookies on PureVPN's landing page, please accept them! This holds true for any retailer.

Also, important to remember that should tracking fail, please cancel as you have their free 31-day money-back guarantee policy. No point lodging a claim to possibly have it rejected by PureVPN as attributed elsewhere.

At the moment tracking is taking around 60-90 minutes, but always allow 24 hours due to varying factors (API stalling, reporting delays etc).

          Enjoy the weekend guys!

          • @tightarse: Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

How long does cashback take to be confirmed and to move to payable?

            • @roshanrbb: I cant remember about Confirmed but 23 Aug purchase was Payable this morning so exactly 3 months to the day.

            • @roshanrbb: "Pending" to "Confirmed" can take less than a month to about 2 months based on my 2 orders recently. Payment is in about 3 months on one order.

          • @tightarse: Thanks for the reminder and have a blessed weekend yourself TA! 🙏

  • PureVPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.

Is this new? I'm pretty sure my brother signed up with this

    • +2

Yes, came into effect yesterday and applies to most VPNs. You'll find it mentioned at the bottom of the TAF terms here. Cheers!

    • I think this is new. When I check the previous deals from TSB I never saw this term before

  • Last purevpn is 9nov 😔

    • Hmm my last one is 18th October. Feels a bit too close even though it's just over

      • You should be fine, cancel if doesnt track within 24hr

      • +2

Just so you're aware, if you make a subsequent purchase on day 31 or better, it will track. If you make a subsequent purchase at any time up to 30 days, it won't track at all. Cheers.

        • alright will buy again xD guess thats xmas presents for the kids paid for

        • I signed up to Pure using a login that I previously had months ago from a trial - never paid them a cent before. But it shows up as a past lapsed subscription. TCB still tracked and the amount looks right. I wasn't too concerned because the T&Cs suggest once every >30 days is fine. Should I be worried that when it comes time for the merchant to pay up and move this from 'pending' to 'confirmed' that they'll argue that I'm not a new customer.

          • +1

@clx: Hi. No idea how PureVPN will view or action this. The fact you were with them previously via a trial means you're not actually a new customer. Not sure why you risked it with the same details, but all I can say is that if it declines, we'll reach out to them on your behalf. Cheers.

            • @tightarse: Hehe you're right. It slipped my mind that I did a trial before. I better cancel for a refund just in case rather than risk it.

          • @clx: Keep us updated how you go ~3months later lol

  • +1

How does this compare to Nord vpn please

  • +2

Ok not going Paypal route, 5yr Max plan direct to card via Apple Pay I got charged $305.15 to my Mastercard. Not long after Tracking came with $383.03.
I have used the exact same method previous month to pay previous “new accounts” with unique emails each time, and this time also still tracks, therefore using same payment method each time direct to card is fine too.
What’s weird this time around is, i see this new account has 2 Subscriptions, 60month and 24month with each having different “purevpn0s…….” Username attached, eventho I only paid for the 5yr Max (60month)
I double checked with My previous 5yr plan from 23 Aug purchase, that one didn’t have 2 plans active, only the one 60month plan.
Anyhow it tracks in the end, so doesn’t really matter, just FYI.

  • Did anyone else get this error: "Error Detected: Unfortunately, we cannot process your request at the moment."?

Tried a few times, got the same error message each time.

    • +1

I got that after clicking pay, but account was created and subsequently cashback tracked later on, so all good. Just did it once and actually got charged.

      • I thought it would still create the account but my card wasn't charged.

    • +1

Try to use a different email. If dot (.) doesn't work, use a normal email like [email protected]

      • Tried a different email, another payment method. Still the same error :(
