ProtonPass + SimpleLogin Lifetime Subscription US$199 (~A$305) / €199 (~A$321) @ Proton

90

This deal is kind of unique, a lifetime subscription to ProtonPass+ for a single user (Proton's version of 1Password/Bitwarden) as well as SimpleLogin, a email aliasing tool that supports custom domains.

Usually US$36 per year. So ROI after 5.5 years.

I switched to Proton Pass from Bitwarden (free) recently. I find Pass much nicer and more responsive on both PC and Android.

That's interesting. I tried switching from Bitwarden (paid) to ProtonPass (paid) since it's included for free with Proton Unlimited but went back after a month or so. It had some really bad annoyances, like auto-fill on page load not working, lack of TOTP auto copy to clipboard, the password generator not remembering the set length or having a way to generate and copy without entering into a field, or their search matching both credentials and domains, making it impossible to login to any proton service because all my logins with a proton email would "match". From memory, they also lacked the option to upload files, which I use for things like bitlocker keys, license files etc. UI wise, ProtonPass is "prettier", but I personally don't mind Bitwarden's UI, especially now that they rolled out the new native mobile app that looks great and is super fast. For me, Bitwarden is the superior product.

SimpleLogin on the other hand is great, use it all the time. Would highly recommend daily driving ProtonPass for a month or so before committing to a lifetime sub though.

      • I use free Bitwarden a lot on my laptops and PCs but not on mobile (yet). Works great, I would have to be really really convinced to pay $320 to get the same function. Maybe the main difference is in the mobile app?

  • I'm using google password manager…
