  • Thunderbolt?

    • The Surface Pro 7 doesn't have Thunderbolt support.

    • It's a five year old device. Still cool af, Surface Pro is a little chunky but one of the better Windows devices you can buy.

  • +3

Refurb? Just sounds used to me…

    • +12

Refurbished just means it’s tested, restored, and comes with a 12-month warranty.

    • +5

      It is used.

      • +38

Everything refurbished is used, but not enerything used is refurbished.

    • +6

Isn't that the fancy name for "Used but its wiped and comes with some warranty!"

    • Pre-loved

    • +4

Originally, "refurbished" mean replacing the external parts and battery in factory to make it like new.
The term was popularised by Apple.

Refurbished iOS devices will come with new battery and outer shell. Every device will come with all accessories, cables and operating systems. All Apple Certified Refurbished products are packaged in a brand new white box

But when salesdroids repeat a lie so many times, it becomes the new truth. Eventually, they don't even know they are lying.

  • +7
    • Yes

    • +4

Looks like just for drivers and firmware. Windows 11 should continue to get updates

  • Whats the battery like on these?
    They have usb c?
Condition of screen, body and kb?
Does unlocked mean they are 4G lte?

    • +2
      1. Battery life depends on usage but typically 6-10 hours.
      2. Yes, it has USB-C (no Thunderbolt).
      3. TheScreen, body, and keyboard are in good condition as it's refurbished.
      4. Unlocked' here refers to no software restrictions and no 4G LTE on this model.
  • +3

Listing on website doesn't say anything about keyboard. Can you please confirm details for this OP - is it a third party bluetooth one or a legit Surface Pro Type Cover for example

    • -4

I can confirm that you will be getting a keyboard with it 100 percent, its the part of the same deal, Keyboard is included.

      • +15

You literally didn't answer the question. Can we assume it is a third party keyboard and not an official Surface Pro one?

        • +15

*Receives a piano as part of the deal.

        • Genuine Keyboard.

          • @erroorfree: LOL, bit late now.

            • @zbc: Convenient how quick he was to answer everyone earlier without clarifying, but once it was sold out was happy to clarify. Almost like they weren't genuine and he's just saying they are.

      • +4

        Is it:

        1. an Official type-cover keyboard? (Made by Microsoft)

          or

        2. a third-party cheap keyboard? (Not made by Microsoft)

        • +17

          yes

          • +3

            @tessel: Love an inclusive or.

          • @tessel: that's correct yes, official type keyboard is made by Microsoft and third party cheapo is not made by Microsoft. so yes you're right!

        • +2

Could you please rephrase your questions so that OP can better understand what it is you are asking ?

          • +1

@solidice: Thank you, Project manager. Indeed, it was too technical. could someone please say that in layman terms?

        • Genuine Keyboard.

      • +3

        @erroorfree

can you please answer the question.

are they genuine Microsoft surface prop keyboards?

        • +2

probably not. The original keyboard was probably sold for a good margin already.

          • +3

@trantonz: Shady, dodgy non-transparent salesperson/ business - that is what makes one.

Probably they are scared we will not buy into it if they are transparent about this (and other things).
If anything, the opposite effect is true - not buying or dealing with them at all without transparency.

God knows what else is missing or isn’t right with the goods when such a simple question goes unanswered.

I hope I am wrong though, and they do come through with a transparent response/s.

            • +1

@YoursTruly: I had bad experience with them in the past. However recently I choose to give them another chance after reading some good vouch for them on ozbargains.
I enquired about the iphone 13 mini green they advertised on Gumtree.
On Gumtree the title says "Mint condition".
However on their website I found the same phone but it was listed as "Grade A" condition. The inconsistency in the description is the first red flag.

Then I asked if the phone is in store or their warehouse, and what's the battery percentage?
They replied it's in store but cannot confirm exactly on the batter percentage but they guarantee it's 85%+. I find it irony because it looks to me that the store person probably couldn't be bothered to turn on the on-display phone to check on the battery for a potential customer.

So yes, I still don't like the way their business is run but who am I to critise them.

            • +1

@YoursTruly: I'd rather have brand new 3rd party keyboard than 5 year old beaten up microsoft keyboard with hair all over it.

              • @RTX9090Ti: good for ya :)

The point was which one of those two is included.

                • -2

@YoursTruly: depends if you like hair or not, they both keyboards for typing.

        • +1

          Genuine Keyboard.

      • Is it the official keyboard case you get with it, or just a random wireless keyboard?

        • +2

          Genuine Keyboard.

  • +8

    *Batteries fully tested for reliability

Far too vague. What battery health do you guarantee?

Thoroughly cleaned and tested to meet OEM guidelines.

What OEM guidelines are these? Again, too vague and never heard of MS having "guidelines" for random companies selling used devices at all.

    • +2

For batteries, we guarantee a minimum of 80% health, ensuring reliable performance.
As for OEM guidelines, we follow Microsoft's standards for functionality and quality checks, including hardware diagnostics and cleaning processes.

  • +10

I've bought a few things from Phonebot and never been disappointed, for what it's worth

    • Appreciate the feedback! Great to hear you've had good experiences with Phonebot!

  • +1

ah the pain of using these for work years back

    • +1

      What was painful about it?

      • +4

It's not really a "lap"top. You always need a hard surface to type on the godforsaken keyboard properly. I'll take a sub-1kg ultrabook over the surface any day. Even the Surface Laptop series keyboards were flimsy.

    • +6

Really? I still use my Surface Pro 3 regularly. It's only just starting to slow down in the last year

      • +2

Same, still have my Surface Pro 3. Looking to upgrade over the next year though.

        • +2

The battery life ain't what she used to be that's for sure, but that's to be expected. I rarely have it unplugged anyway, still probably squeeze a couple hours out of it when I do. I decided to grab one of these instead of going all out on a brand new one, though would love to know what keyboard is coming lol

      • +2

Still use my SP3 every now and then

  • BUT - certainty about whether a keyboard is included or not would be appreciated

    • It says under the link "Includes Power Adapter, Charging Cable & Keyboard".

      • +1

Still pretty vague unfortunately, is it a third party bluetooth one or a legit Surface Pro Type Cover for example

        • Genuine Keyboard.

    • -5

The keyboard is definitely included in this deal, so there is no doubt about it!

      • +1

        What keyboard though?

        • +5

          The keyboard 😂

        • Genuine Keyboard.

      • +1

A Surface keyboard or 3rd party keyboard?

        • Genuine Keyboard.

  • +5

Hi OP, are the keyboards genuine Microsoft?

    • +22

Seeing that the OP is avoiding the question but answering others I think you have your answer.

      • +7

Just be honest with potential customers; it's not a hard thing to do.

        • +3

I don’t mind if it’s not genuine MS as long as it’s compatible and not one that requires a cable or dongle

    • Seller refused to answer this question

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • the product page does not say anything of the keyboard included?

    • Yes, the keyboard is definitely included with this deal, no worries!

      • +8

        are the keyboards genuine Microsoft?

        • Genuine Keyboard.

      • Can you please tell us what type of keyboard is included, you seem to be dodging people’s questions on the specifics of the type of keyboard?

        • Genuine Keyboard.

      • So you are confirming that the keyboard is in fact genuine?

  • Physical condition?

  • Op, can we get apple pencil 2nd gen deal? :)

  • Any good for students? Just basic MS Office apps and web browsing.

    • +1

Yes. We use the 7s and 8s in our fleet at work and they are more than fine for corporate users. Heck, we even still keep the 5 and 6s on life support albeit they are being phased out as warranty ran out.

    • +4

      Any good for students?

Yes, but battery life may be an issue…

  • That's a pretty good price. The nice thing about pro 7 is how they swapped the displayport for usb c, meaning it can be charged via usb c instead of the bulky power brick.
And it still has a SD card slot which pro 8 doesn't.
Though I would double check the screen as the surface pro series are prone to white pressure marks.

  • +1

it would be nice to know if the keyboard included is a surface pro type of keyboard-cover (and official microsoft one or not) , or a "standard" bluetooth keyboard
If it is the proper kind, this is something I might consider getting to have a muck around on

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • +7

It would take OP 2 minutes to update their website to say keyboard is included.

It would take OP 10 seconds to tell us whether the keyboard is genuine Microsoft or aftermarket.

    FFS.

  • Is the keyboard genuine Microsoft?

    • +1

It seems keyboard no longer mentioned on Phonebot web site.

      • I never actually saw it on the website at all outside of the description:

        Microsoft Surface Pro 7 i5 (8GB 128GB) [Grade A]
Versatile 2-in-1 laptop for working and playing your way, shopping, banking, on-screen writing, and streaming Netflix.

        Surface Pro 7 features
        Work your way
Transform Surface Pro 7 from a tablet to a laptop with the Kickstand and Surface Signature Type Cover. Use the USB-C and USB-A ports to connect to displays, docking stations, and your accessories.

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • +1

How annoying. Payment failed twice now no stock

  • I'd say it is most likely third party, probably cheap bluetooth keyboard, with the way OP is avoiding answering the question. Prove me wrong OP.

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • Is the keyboard genuine Microsoft? Waiting….

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • +11

Sigh, just answer the question does it come with a genuine Microsoft keyboard?

    • The question has been ignored. I think that makes it very clear about what the answer is regarding being a M$ keyboard or not.

    • Genuine Keyboard.

  • +2

Everyone will be wanting refund when they confirm the keyboard

    • Nice One but Genuine Keyboard!
