  • Doesn’t the code require everyday extra to be valid?

    • No, requires Everyday Rewards card linked for the code to work.

      • Does the code work at Woolworths too without Everyday Extra?

  • +1

How did you find the price?! I want to look at other stuff

    • I was wondering the exact same thing, haven't found an answer though.

Worth $25 in Everyday Rewards Dollars.

How much in Itchy & Scratchy Money?

  • +5

the extra version was less than $320 not long ago. it is better to wait for a better price

    • Where was it under $320?

    • +3

Do you mean this targeted offer on the Dyson V8 Origin Extra? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/873130

      • +2

        yes this one

        • Targeted deal though.

          • +1

@Trishool: even without the code was about $345 to $349 from JB, the good guys and many other retailers for a original extra version. I got the targeted code but I didn't buy it. I want a better price.

  • +2

Any idea whats the difference between this and the Extra model sold on eBay for around the same price…

    Looks like an extra accessory..

I don't think it will stack with the 10% off XNOV2024 code to get the $346.50 price.

      • For those without everyday xtra. 👌

        • +1

You don't need Everyday Extra to use code XNOV2024 online. Link your Everyday Rewards card (free to join) to your Big W account and add the code. It won't work now yet as the price is over $500.

@trixieb: Thanks. Will give it a go. 👍

Was looking at this vacuum but the Dysons have a huge design flaw IMO. They only stay powered on while holding down the power trigger with your finger (there's no conventional on/off switch).

Makes it useless for cleaning whole rooms because your fingers get fatigued from maintaining pressure on the trigger for anything more than short bursts (30 secs).

    • +2

I thought the same thing until I got one. The trigger requires so little pressure to activate that it is easy to bump it on when just holding or carrying the vacuum. The normal hand pressure to hold the handle while using the vacuum is more than enough to keep the trigger depressed without getting finger fatigue. I can use it for 30 minutes while doing a couple of rooms.

    • +1

you can buy cheap trigger locks on AE or even 3d print one.

    • +1

Loose cable tie. Slip on. Slip off.

    • +2

I reviewed the v11 a few years back and mentioned the exact the same thing as a neg. After a few turns around the house, got the shits and came up with a simple cost effective solution - using the velcro off of a laptop power supply/charger. Does the job and stops trigger finger fatigue, especially if using for long periods of time.

      • Pro.

  • Would this be upgrade from Dreame V11?

  • got the plus version recently for $399. What's the main difference?

    • HEPA filter on Plus

      • I actually thought all filter are hepa rated… So origin is not correct?

        • Origin does not have HEPA filter and not all filters are HEPA rated.

  • Thinking I will upgrade this to v15 performance for $250. https://www.dyson.com/support/journey/tools/973149-03

Reviews for the submarine function seem pretty good so I reckon pretty good hack to get top of the line Dyson for cheap

They say not compatible but you can see it is the same click in connector so that's corporate deceit for ya, no respect for the intelligent customer these days

    • +1

Very likely it won't work. There's a lot more than the connector that Dyson uses to differentiate their products. It could be slightly different plastic nibs, voltage requirements, IC/software locking, etc.

      Wouldn't gamble on this.

  • -2

Can buy 3 kmart vaccums for this price does the sane job.

    • Exactly and the Kmart ones will last longer than the Dyson's too

    • +2

Which ones have you compared yourself? Please share model numbers.

    • +1

      Hi Coolc,

Can you link me to the kmart vacuum's? im interested.

      • +2

Sounds like a troll comment by Coolc

  • Are theses till roughly the same power/performance as the V8's years back? I remember getting my Xiaomi Dreame as a value compromise ages back and the Dyson V8's were already around.

Just want to double check that from the look of it I'd still need to fork out a lot more for a V10/V11/higher to feel like I've actually upgraded it even after all these years?

  • +1

    Hi all!

Can anyone recommend something good around the 250 to 400 mark that's really a winner!! Best reviews wins I guess.

For reference timber floors, dog, toddler.
Small place. Just for quick kitchen clean ups as I already have Henry the roborock robot vac.

    I've been considering the shark.
    https://sharkclean.com.au/collections/sale/products/shark-co…

    Thanks all

    • I think the shark looks better as it has a larger volume dust bin.

  • Can you stack this with the Everyday Extra 10% off?

  • +1

F off Big W, this is not a sale when you almost don't have any stock available in the state.

Best you'll be able to do is get some place else is price match it seems…

    • Correcting myself, i made this comment the day before the sale. When the sale went live, they must have updated stock levels and more stores listed having stock.

  • +2

Extra attachments are cheap on AE or Temu

  • +2

Picked up one from regional VIC, thank you OP

  • Just bought it why is the mini motor head missing?? When I last got my animal Dyson had the whole thing.

  • Picked up yesterday. Quite a big, bulky and heavy vac. I have the V6 and DC35 and they are much more nimble. This V8 just has the one additional attachment, no designated crevice tool which both of my others got.

Still, not bad for $321.50 after rewards credit etc.

  • The Shopback has tracked 31.50 for the transaction after I bought this tough shopback.
If that's the case I will be getting this vac for $290.

  • I’ve had my V8 for just over 2 years and battery has started to diminish. Can anyone recommend a battery replacement, should I just get it from Dyson?
    Cheers

    • Similar position for me except I've had the V8 Absolute for much longer. I just buy replacements from Dyson. Not worth messing around with 'genuine' batteries that end up being shit.

    • Get an adapter on ebay then plug in a Ozito battery

    • Call Dyson to complain that the battery should last longer than 2 years, they might give you free battery replacement

  • My current V8 battery is not holding much charge. Do I buy a genuine battery for $139 or spend an extra $207.50 for this?

  • Grab the last one at the further BigW, thanks.

  • online order got refunded, used my monthly extra discount too, which was wasted.

The 5000 points did get credited, however not sure if that will be revoked
