FEAST YOUR EYES on Telstra's latest "premium" budget offering, the absolutely, revolutionary mediocre Telstra T-Elite 5G (or as ZTE calls it when Telstra isn't looking, the A75 Pro 5G) for just $129 ($50 off from the $179 RRP)!

✨ Features that will blow your mind from 2019:
  • A stunning 720p display that will make your old Nokia jealous! (Yes, in 2024, because who needs pixels anyway?)

  • A whopping 4GB of RAM + 4GB "virtual memory" (aka "we'll just use your storage and pretend it's RAM")

  • Not one, but TWO whole cameras on the back! One actually useful 50MP shooter and a 2MP depth sensor that's basically there for moral support

  • The prestigious "Blue Tick" approval* (*terms, conditions, and actual reception may vary wildly)

🌟 BONUS FEATURES:
  • No fingerprint sensor because who needs security in 2024? Just keep your phone unlocked like a true champion!

  • Locked to Telstra because freedom of choice is overrated

  • Comes with a free subscription to "Why did I buy this?" thoughts

Actual Specs:

4GB RAM + up to 4GB Extended RAM

Lol how do they get away with saying that in Aus?

    • +8

the authorities cant even do a proper 3g to 4g cutaway so this would be beyond them…

    • Technically the solid state storage is a form of Random Access Memory, but might not pass the average person test in the consumer law.

  • Practically what speeds are we getting on 5G vs 4G?

Also are these 1st "gen" 5G rated phones?

what exactly are these standards suppose to mean? 5G: n5/n7/n26/n78 are they the "final" evolution of 5G? or is there more coming?

  • Lowest price?

    • $129 seems to be the lowest price I have seen for this and the Optus X Pro 5G.

  • UsbC or micro USB?

    • According to the user guide, usb-c

    Let's not oversell this.

  • Good if unlock use for 5G router?

You can grab an AW1000 for around $50 on marketplace that’ll run OpenWRT

      • That's probably a good deal. Especially is it'll run OpenWRT. But the advantage of a 5G phone for 5G internet access is that its also a phone. And a message machine. And an SMS receiving machine. You don't need one expensive 5G phone plan for your internet access and another plan for phone calls.

        • If you're after a 5G mobile hotspot this's an ok option. If you want a 5G router you can run ROOter on an AW1000 or similar and get all the advantages of messaging, band locking, decent wifi etc

5G phone plans are common and not what I'd call expensive (and my ass is watertight)

          Horses for courses

      • Not much people selling it.. and much more then $50.. the telstrasmart modem 5g yeh

        • Yeh it’s a marketplace/used bargain but as with a lot of Telstra gear there’re a ton of them about and they come up a lot for next to nothing

Contrary to the OP's belief that EVERYONE ELSE needs to spend their money on highest spec'd electronic toys available, this product is perfectly adequate for a lot of people. And at only $129 it is a real genuine bargain for those who actually appreciate real OzBargains, not those that think a $5000 coffee machine is one simply because its a few hundred bucks off the usual price.

So thanks OP for bringing it to our attention, even if you did feel you have to do it in the smarmy way you did to feel justified in spending lots more of YOUR MONEY for what you bought.

  • Works well with a Boost SIM-bought the T-Elite to replace an older 3G Telstra phone that I recycled.

No word on how long ZTE will provide security updates for.

+1 for the updated comedic description.

    Sold! Lol

  • I got a Moto G04, it sucks but not as much as this one with no fingerprint sensor.

    • The soc (Unisoc T760) in this probably will be faster than the new in the G04 though…

      • I reckon they're both terrible, but you don't buy this kind of phones for performance. the lack of a fingerprint sensor would be problematic for a lot of apps, some of them might even not work at all e.g. IBKR

  • A related question. Recently my 4G phones with telstra SIM didn't work for contactless pay? What might be the cause?

    • how old’s your phone? what make and what kind of life’s it had?

      • 5 yrs old lg v30+ never had an issue.

  • Black Friday pricing for this product starts 5am AEDT 21/11/24

Looks like it might drop even further in price for Black Friday?
