This just came up as a banner ad on my Amazon app.

Enjoy a $0 delivery fee on eligible DoorDash orders and other DashPass benefits with a FREE 2 year DashPass membership for new and current Prime members in Australia.

Subscribed and linked to my DoorDash with out issues.

Edit: For those getting stuck in a “loop” make sure you have a valid card added to your DoorDash account and remove Afterpay if attached.

For people who used the Amazon CA free DoorDash promo previously it seems to be only adding 9 months. Create a new DoorDash account for the full 2 years.

How long does the FREE DashPass membership last? As long as your Prime membership is active and you have redeemed the Offer, you can get 2 years of FREE DashPass. If your Prime membership ends or is cancelled during the 2 year DashPass membership period, your DashPass membership will cancel automatically and you will lose your FREE access to DashPass. Should you reactivate your Prime membership within 2 years of first activating your FREE DashPass Offer, you will be able to enjoy the remainder of your FREE DashPass membership period, provided that you remain a Prime member. You can re-activate the Offer via the Offer page here at Amazon.com.au.

    Delivery: free

    but

    Service fee: $5

    Prices inflated by 15%

    • +1

True, but better than paying service fee, inflated prices, and delivery fee.

Everyone ordering from these services should be aware that prices are inflated. I wish they were more transparent and just charged a higher service fee instead of inflating prices.

      • These apps charge 30% to the restaurant to use the service. So the restaurant marks up their food 30% to cover the costs.
Uber/door/whatever then double dip and charge the customers a service fee for using the app.
Then finally they actually charge what it “costs” to deliver.

I only used the Doordash for the cheap item which cheaper than direct from the store, sometimes Doordash has offer which I only got those which are on offer.

    • +1

Yup. Blows my mind that people fall for this nonsense, let alone the ones who actually pay the $10 a month for “free delivery” (lmao)
There’s a sucker born every minute.

Why is DD not reducing service fee for Dashpass users in Australia? It used to be reduced, now they're just greedy with 12% and no capped limit.

  • mine only goes to the 26/8/25

Surprised to see this deal is still going. When I first saw it, it said it was ending after the 14th.

    • +3

You must have misread the year. Amazon page says: Offer ends 14 November 2026 unless withdrawn prior.

Why does door dash say I don't have Prime when I do?

  • I'm getting this message despite being a prime user for years..

    "Not eligible for offer

This offer is only eligible for Amazon Prime members. Subscribe to Amazon Prime to redeem this offer."

    Anyone else?

  • Anyone got any tips on how to get value from this?

Since there seem to be no specials and often higher prices/limited ranges from the stores, I can't see any savings to be had. Maybe the 'first order' specials?

Or is it all about the convenience, which you pay for one way or the other through the fees and higher prices…

There are promos all the time
You can stack these with discounted DD gift cards which occasionally pop up. Digital Restaurant gift cards like Restaurant Choice and TCN Restaurant, Pub & Bar, Good Food etc. also work.
Shopback gives 35 cents back per order

All these combined almost always make it equal or cheaper than buying in-store

Hmm very sneaky they don't let you stop renewal you can only fully cancel or fully continue the free trial so they are banking on many users to forget.. I hate this tactic very scummy.

I have a calendar task set a few weeks before the end of my free trial with reoccurring reminders to cancel to avoid fees we shall see who will win in this endeavour lol haha.

    Good luck all.

  • Thanks signed up. Got the email the other day but completely forgot about it. Now to probably never use DD for 2 years

My Amazon account is showing as already linked to DoorDash and even after removing the link and trying to redeem the offer it says that it’s already been redeemed and the previous link reappears.
Not sure how to get around it.

    • How did you remove the link?

  • +1

I was the 2500th like. Do I get a prize?

    • +1

Yes. A personal thank you from the OP

      @Ge3ks Thank You

      • Thankyou stranger

  • This is bullshit. Simple example, checked Yellowtail Bubbles via Dashpass at Dan Murphy - $11.99. Online at Dan - $8.30, so a 44% markup. Similar story with everything I tried, probably the same at all stores.

    Terrible deal.

    • +1

Similar markups on Menulog and UberEats too. This is normal.

Most people only order via DoorDash when there’s a good deal on.

      • I discovered there's a "service fee" of $3.49 too - literally doubles the price of the shelf at Dan. Total waste of time.

The "free" Dashpass is not worth much, if anything, if this is typical.

As I said, most people only use DD when there’s some great deal on.
