This just came up as a banner ad on my Amazon app.

Enjoy a $0 delivery fee on eligible DoorDash orders and other DashPass benefits with a FREE 2 year DashPass membership for new and current Prime members in Australia.

Subscribed and linked to my DoorDash with out issues.

Edit: For those getting stuck in a “loop” make sure you have a valid card added to your DoorDash account and remove Afterpay if attached.

For people who used the Amazon CA free DoorDash promo previously it seems to be only adding 9 months. Create a new DoorDash account for the full 2 years.

How long does the FREE DashPass membership last? As long as your Prime membership is active and you have redeemed the Offer, you can get 2 years of FREE DashPass. If your Prime membership ends or is cancelled during the 2 year DashPass membership period, your DashPass membership will cancel automatically and you will lose your FREE access to DashPass. Should you reactivate your Prime membership within 2 years of first activating your FREE DashPass Offer, you will be able to enjoy the remainder of your FREE DashPass membership period, provided that you remain a Prime member. You can re-activate the Offer via the Offer page here at Amazon.com.au.

So I just tested a delivery of the same order on Doordash and Menulog.
Menulog had a delivery fee of $8
Doordash had $0 delivery but $10.98 in 'fees' which made it MORE expensive.

  • Wtf 1.7k upvotes 😄

  • -8

This is terrible, they just jack up the price. Salmon avo roll is $15 at sushi train lol

    • +3

agree, but the deal itself is good.

  • Also I don't think this works.

    • I clicked "Redeem your free DashPass" button
    • I then clicked "Allow" on the next window
    • I then clicked the same button again "Redeem your free dashpass"
    • It redirects straight back to Amazon…?

I went into my billing and my paid membership still expires on November 22nd 2024. How do you get the 2 years to apply to it? According to the text on the offer it's supposed to auto cancel my paid membership and put me onto the free membership but it's not doing that for me in this case… Any advice? I'd contact Amazon Support over this but their support has gotten worse over the years…

EDIT: If you end up in this loop do as OP said! Unlink your afterpay > then go through this and it'll work > then you can re-link your afterpay
Now let's see how long this lasts as my amazon prime ends at 6th of December.

Not having used Doordash, got to ask… is this the norm?

Burger at our local favourite Uber Eats $15.90.

    Same burger by Doordash $22.80.

  • Does it work with amazing prime trial?

  • +1

I literally got a notification on DoorDash for a $450 credit as I signed up for this deal.
This is on top of the free 2 years of DashPass, is this a mistake?

    • +4

An error, take it and run

    • What, thats crazy

    • +6

The milky bars are on you.

  • +9

What kind of psycho downvoted this?

    • +8

      Menulog or Uber shareholders

It makes you wonder how much a DoorDash subscription is really worth. Based on my experience with the service, my guess is probably not much.

    • It depends on how regularly you order. My account says I saved $382 in the last year.

      • +2

But likely overpaid more than that with the mark-ups on each individual item, so it's all relative.

        • Sure. The assumption is that you would be buying stuff from Doordash anyway so it is not really a question of whether items are overpriced. They are. But at least with this you are saving on the subscription cost.

      • Would the average person get $382 of value?

        • The regular sub fee is 9.99/month (cheaper on annual.) You will make back that money on discounts and delivery fee within two orders. So, yes… most people will break even at least.

          • @notfrodo: Nah. My guess is the subscription is valued at about $10 - $20 per year per customer. If it were much more, it probably wouldn’t be profitable to give it away en masse.

  • Thanks OP !! Got full 2 years!!

  • Why is this getting so many upvotes?

As soon as your free Amazon trial ends, dashpass ends as well, unless you pay for your Amazon prime

    • +14

I pay the $79 per year for Prime.
Says I've saved $1100 on delivery fees from 97 Prime deliveries.
And I get a free $8.95 Twitch sub per month.
      And access to Prime Video.
      Well worth it for me.

      • +4

And free games to keep every month.

      • I'm pretty sure I've saved way more than that over the last 12 months, but recently cancelled it and can't check the savings anymore.

On a free trial with another account for now.

      • What?! Why am I paying $10 per month like a sucka

        • +1

Yep, big time. I have 3 accounts and get 3 free trials per year.

          • @TEER3X: Sounds like too much effort. But I’ve done the $79 thing now

    • +14

I think you are severely underestimating how many people pay for Prime.

      • Maybe I'm overestimating?

        • Nope. My entire family uses it. Looks like your the odd one out here…..

          • +1

@Repstar: I've had prime for longer than most people, having lived in the US when it wasn't available in Australia.

Had the delivery guy (USPS) ask me what I did for a living because I used to get Amazon packages almost daily.

I'll still probably get the annual membership again, but it's no where near as cheap as it used to be.

You get free (slower) shipping without a membership on the pricier items, and almost all subscribe and save stuff is free shipping also.

I get 3x 10% off shops at Woolies because of insurance.

    • +7

@TEER3X - Prime is worth the subscription. The specials on Amazon are cheaper than Woolworths/Coles Aldi, it includes Prime Video and Music.

You can definitely get your monies worth just from the posts on Ozbargain.

Plus the convenience of not having to go to the shops to collect your order.

      • -7

Not really unless you S&S(Not all products are eligible) they just match Coles and Woolies when products are on special there. And always remember that you are paying them $10 per month or $79 a year just to buy products at the same price which you would anyways get from Coles and Woolies. Prime is only worth it if you are super dependant on deliveries or super lazy.

        • -1

There's heaps of items that on sale (not factoring S&S) that are cheaper than the big 3.

There's numerous and frequent deals on toiletries and laundry that are cheaper than the physical store sale prices. Your millage may vary depending on what you buy, but it's worth checking Ozb postings and the comments do usually do a comparison with physical stores.

Even if you frequently go shopping, being able to order from Amazon and earn cash back saves you having to go to the shops.

There's also the added bonus of Prime Video, Music and Twitch etc as posted above.

If you're finding Prime not worth it, then you're not using it properly or checking the deals posted.

          • @StonedWizard: Not to mention the fact you can ship stuff from Amazon US, UL, Japan and Germany for free

        • You don't need prime to use subscribe and save.

        • +1

Exactly I do not understand people paying for prime when there's always free shipping above $59 and S&S if they put some effort. They need to hand their OZB badge

  • Anyone know why the deal is on amazon.com.au but when trying to redeem, it makes you login to amazon.com ?

    • I’m having this problem too. Did you manage to get it working?

    • +1

      Lolwut

    • Another garbage neg, jog on.

      • Just checked the local China Bar. Each dish is $10 more than if I visited them myself! + a service fee. This is pretty expensive for "free" delivery :S

        • +2

No shit. This is the same for every service, the stores jack up the price so they can maintain their margins. Doesn't mean that getting 2 years of free DashPass is neggable.

      • -2

No issues with joining menulog , uber or ubereats.

    • +4

      Uber eats F[BEEP]ing sucks.

A few years ago I had a BIG account issue with that platform. The issue was every time I made an order on there my account would instantly get banned… No joke. 1 second after I placed an order. This went on for months. Their support did not exist at the time (I think I was communicating with a bot) as I kept getting the same generic responses to my email. They kept re-activating my account and this went on for more than 50 times! Make an order > Ban > Account re-activated > Attempt to make an order again > Ban > ect ect. Probably would of continued to this day if I didn't give up with the platform. They never found out the issue and fixed it on my account hence why it went on for more than 50 times.

I have never experienced this with DoorDash and DoorDash support might be crap but at least you're speaking to a HUMAN and not a BOT over at Uber.

They should of compensated me for the hell I went through… but of course no company would ever do such a thing.

  • Nice find, but mine is stuck at August 2025 expiry, even with new Doordash account.
Lets see if there is a way around it
(I did use the CA Amazon offer last year)

    • quick glance and i think it could be that reason why we only getting it unitl august 2025 but hey i'm not complaining lol

    • Did you find a way? I only saw the CA amazon offer reason after I activated it. :(

  • Yeah cool "Your DashPass is free until 11/14/26"

Now to pay $25 more via DoorDash at my local fish n chip shop so i can take advantage of this deal haha

    • +2

This being said by heaps of people, but who cares, everyone knows delivery services are more expensive no matter what. But if and when you're going to use it, wouldn't you'd rather use it with a free subscription that makes it cheaper and closer to that instore price?

    • +2

If you take your time and play the deals they offer to dashpass and do pick up you can save money….

      • +2

yeah just got to compare what is better when you order

  • +1

    Only got 1 year.

But if any Ozbargainer does their research or in the know, you can find third party services who are abusing sign up bonus + other bonuses offering insanely cheap food i.e. $30 off $40 pickup order or $11 off $20 delivery orders.

    • Would you mind dming for more info?

    • I do know a service that’s $20 off $40. Can you please DM me.

    • This is their current prices - have ordered countless times

      https://imgur.com/a/Wyu2sRz

      • Can you please send me the info?

      • Where can we find more info on this?

      • Interested. Looks like discord group?

      • I'm no longer sharing this method - they have increased their prices due to increased demand. Keeping it a secret and I hope others do as well to keep prices low.

    • Interested

  • Thanks OP,

    Ive contacted Doordash Support.

    Edit 2:
Doordash Support: "Upon checking with your account you have free dash pass untill 27/8/25. and post that you will be charged for the regular fee for the dash pass. since this offer was given by the Amazon Prime, I request you to contact them for more information."

  • Thanks for this!
I have set my calendar reminder for November 2026… now daydreaming of where I'll actually be and what I'll be doing in November 2026!

  • I went through the process on PC and when I got to the point to redeem the pass, it was only for 12 months, so I did not click 'redeem and I rang up support and they told me to use mobile. Did it again via mobile and it was 2 years. Don't know if that helps anyone, but this was my experience..

    • Did you previously claim the Amazon CA deal like some of us? I tried mobile but still only offered 9 months

      • Nope, first time claiming a deal.

  • Works flawlessly. My mrs saw it on the banner this morning and signed us up, we already subscribe to prime for deliveries and prime video. This is just a further incentive.

Was coming to post the deal but I knew in my heart it had already been posted lol

  • Ok so i think i have muffed this and tried to link it whilst i was on the train and for some reason its not linked to any of the 3 Doordash accounts i have. I now cant link it again and Amazon wont revoke the linkage or provide me the account info so i can change it? Any ideas of how i can find my 2yrs dashpass???

  • In an attempt to redeem this offer, I click the link, enter my Amazon email to login, enter the OTP sent to my email, then I get asked to confirm a phone number ending in xx.

However I don’t have a phone number ending in the two digits displayed. I’ve checked the account settings in the app and definitely don’t have any phone numbers matching what’s being asked for.

Has anyone encountered this? To resolve it, it says I can ring their American customer service, which I am not keen on since it will incur international call charges.

  • Doordash is so overpriced compared to ordering directly

    • I've noticed some restaurants charge a higher price when ordering through Doordash, whereas others the same as ordering directly and even cheaper if you have a discount code.

    • Some places offer discount if paid in cash and because I was avoiding the delivery fee, I was ordering in person.

I have stopped using Doordash as I used to, from $1.5k a month (couple) to $300-500 (single).
Either way, ordering in person usually is no more than $3-5 less than Doordash, with exception of course of those offering cash discount which can be as cheap as $10 saved.
Two times and you just won a meal with the saving.

  • Anyone have another workaround for the loop?
    I've added credit card
    Unliked afterpay
    Still looping…

  • Solid OP, I'm in.
Thank you for sharing this <3

  • Nvm - got it working after reading lol

  • 2227 upvotes, is this a record?

  • Thanks OP, worked perfectly

  • Status

    • Oh nice, so it's 2yrs from the date you sign up

I might hang onto this and wait for a promo to go with it

      • +2

you might be a little disappointed if the offer is withdrawn earlier than stated.

      • Yes, it went smoothly for me.
But IMO, better sign up now in case the offer is withdrawn earlier because too many people already took it up.

  • +1

    2236+ upvotes!
    Is this an alltime high?

    • +1

Highest ever is 2840 votes, from stats & records.

      • couple more up votes and it'll take 3rd place!

        • That list is actually the top historical deals, not the top X amount of deals. This deal won't show up on there.

  • -1

Should I only activate until I want to use Doordash?

    • +3

Perhaps ask a grown up to make a decision on your behalf?

  • -2

2xxx votes. See how angry Oz bargainers are about local dinosaur merchants!

  • Anyone stuck on August 2025 expiry managed to convince DoorDash to adjust their end date to the correct two year length?

    • I think someone posted earlier that they contacted DD about this issue, but DD said its an Amazon issue
