  • Wow! Black Friday has come!!!!
    Woohoo!!!!!!
    Cheers Tom,
    Will order some..

    • +2

Fantastic to see a "Wow" and "Woohoo" in the one comment, the double whammy haha :)

Indeed, it comes around quick, feel like only yesterday was BFCM 2023. Wonderful to know this deal's a winner for you, thank you so much another order, it's truly appreciated!!!

  • +1

Any idea when ground coffee will be available again? I really enjoy your decaf but can't justify buying another grinder just to grind it fresh.

    • +2

Maybe look into a Kingrinder, they are pretty good for reasonable price. Thats if you dont mind handgrinding.

      • There's always the drill or electric screwdriver if I get sick of handgrinding, I guess!

Thanks, I haven't really kept up on all the handgrinders. Last one I had wasn't awesome but that was many years ago (I don't think I spent much either), reviews on Kingrider seem really good though for the money.

        • +2

I was looking for a second grinder for pour over and ended up getting a Kingrinder K6 about a year ago. I had similar concerns around hand grinding but it's been so easy.

~30sec to grind, never any stale coffee in the chute and the added bonus of being portable.

I tried the drill in the early days but don't bother now.

Fresh ground coffee is so much better

          • @OzBragain: Thoughts on spending ~$100 on a hand grinder or forking out for a cheap electric one?

I've only ever bought ground coffee, but think I'm convinced beans and grinding my own is the way of the future. My tight ass finds it hard to pull the trigger and spend $300 on a machine just to grind the beans though!

            • +1

@ham0718: I would say a $100 manual grinder will give better results than a cheap electric.

I used a Breville smart grinder for many years and could never get the grind quite right. Finally worked out it holds 4 - 5g of ground coffee in the chute which means your first grind of the day will express differently. Ended up upgrading the grinder and wished I'd done it years ago…and then switched from espresso to pour over and don't use it.

Why the long boring story? Manual grinder gives the same results as a $600 electric.

K6 was around $100 last year, may get lucky in the sales.

    • Would love to know for ground coffee as well !

Stellar price Tom! Christmas has arrived early :D really nice touch that 3 x 1kg equals 69.75 so qualifies for free shipping. Anyone who hasn’t tried this bean or lime blue I highly recommend you do!

This is my absolute favourite bean. Even if you are a novice barista it still tastes absolutely awesome, even if frozen stored, you name it, quality beans and blend makes everything else easy!

I worked out my sequence is about 3kg a month so have been stacking orders with delayed delivery so like magic the special parcel arrives just in time, keep them out for about 10 more days to mature in the bags, and then pop in the freezer. When I need them I go from freezer to fridge 24 hrs and then into the grinder :)

    • I’m new to this. So do you do it a cup of beans at a time (or enough beans for a few days), taking out of freezer to fridge? Do you need to leave them at room temp before grinding?

      • I've never put in the freezer. I have bought a canister which keeps it fresh, but I only buy 1 kg at a time. Maybe I should give it a go??

Sounds like OP puts it in the fridge for 24 hrs in advance to allow it to defrost…

        • +1

The reason I go from Freezer to Fridge is sort of to acclimatise and avoid the beans getting condensation from large temperature differential lol. Sounds very scientific but it's just random guesswork from various things I've read.

I used to only put a small amount in the grinder but I got lazy and now just top the whole grinder up full from the beans that are in the fridge, which probably is about 300g. It doesn't go stale given the speed I get through it.

          • @dammit: If the frozen beans are in an airtight bag that you've pressed most the air out of, there isn't any water in the air to condense onto the beans.

      • +1

I've been experimenting with keeping beans fresh lately. After some previous discussion with the guy's from Lime Blue, my current process is, allow the beans to mature for a week or 2 after they are delivered. Apparently, they improve in flavour/aroma over this time. I then vacuum seal in 250g lots and into the freezer. As I go through 250g per week, the day before I need more beans I take them out of the freezer and bring to room temperature.

Doing it this way I have beans that have no discernable change/degradation of flavour after 2-3months of freezing.

        • -1

I do respect the commitment to fresh beans but this kind of behaviour should get you put on some kind of government watch list to be honest.

          • +1

@kiriakoz: Why? Coffee is a fresh product. Like anything thats consumable, it ages. Try eating a day old apple vs a 3 month apple and see which you prefer. Waiting 2 weeks for coffee beans is the process called 'degassing' where the co2 leaves the coffee beans after roasting leaving a better flavour / aroma.

            • @itswags76: I wouldn't take my comments too seriously if I were you. Do you literally think I believe people who measure coffee out in 250g bags should be on a government watch list?

              • @kiriakoz: Obviously not, was just explaining the whys

                • @itswags76: Nah makes sense. I might do the same. I don't have a vacuum sealer but was just reading up on best technique to do it via chatgpt.

                  • @kiriakoz: You dont need a vacuum sealer, the lime blue bags freeze well. You can buy multiple kg's and chuck them whole into the freezer in a zip lock bag and then take out each 1kg as you use it. That way u can buy bulk on special. I believe 100 days in a freezer is equivalent to one day outside a freezer. Thats what I do. The bags never age.

    • Do you need to vacuum seal it for the freezer?

      • I just chucked bag in freezer sealed and still tastes great. Even the open bag that went in the freezer I just pressed the air out and then sealed with the bags normal seal and in freezer and again still tastes good

    • My favourite bean too, but I recently took delivery of a delayed order of LimeBlue's "rarely discounted" South Central Blend, and there's now a challenger for my favourite. Awesome flavour.

    • Hey @dammit WOW what an upliftingly positive vote of confidence, thank you so much for your wonderful praise, continued orders and support, it truly does mean the world!!!

Absolute music to my ears to know you've found your "absolute favourite." Love those number, 3kg per month is formidable, sounds like you've been creating the perfect system one step at a time to ensure you never need to worry about running out of delicious coffee :)

  • Loving Lime Blue coffee, for anyone new. I just recommend grabbing a bag, you won't be disappointed!

    • Fantastic, thank you so much for your order, continued support and that terrific vote of confidence recommendation, it truly does mean a lot!!!

  • Big fan of lime blue coffee and Tom is the best rep on ozB.
Just note the extended shutdown period. I know everyone needs a break but it would be nice if there was just a day offered in that 3.5 week period for optimal coffee freshness!
Nevertheless have a great break, Tom :)

    • Hey @kati what a wonderful compliment to receive, I still think I'm a work in progress, continually striving to do better, but thank you so much for your thoughtful words all the same, they are sincerely appreciated!!!

Feedback duly noted. Right now I'm not quite sure what the early Jan schedule will looks like. I might have a slight break to get into planning/reboot/refresh mode for 2025 or work straight through. It's just a little early to know either way, which is why for the time being early Jan isn't selectable as a dispatch date. However, the good news it with the self control systems we've implemented for you, you can go ahead and place an order/s now to make the most of the deal pricing, then initially select your back up plan dispatch date/s and then if I do decide to work through early Jan you can self edit your dispatch date to make changes as dispatch availability opens up :)

  • Hi OP, are you any closer to offering a pickup option? It’s almost Xmas and EOY.

    • +2

      Never hurts to double check!

Quite close, but not quite over the line on that front yet, I promise it's going to happen and unless takes a serious left turn from the plan the click and collect feature should be live before 2025 :)

  • Yes !!
I have been wanting to try this roaster, this is a timely offer for me to buy them !

Thank you for sharing OP! : ))

    • Terrific to hear the timing has lined up perfectly for you :)

Thank you so much for giving us a shot and placing your first order with us, I really do appreciate it and it's an opportunity we won't take for granted!

  • Which one should I get as my first bag? I’m thinking of getting a coffee machine on Black Friday and have no idea on flavor profile. I like mine with milk.

    • +1

The Brazil coffee is fine for milk I'm sure!

    • Tried the thank you blend as my first bag and it's really good. I reckon you can't go wrong with lime blue and single origin sounds like it would be better for milk coffees

  • We tried those 3 kind of beans. Now we reordered it again. Freeze the one you keep. Love the aroma and the taste.

    • Amazing, thank you so much for another terrific order!!!

Love to hear your freezing skills are on point :)

  • +1

I got 1 kg of the Thank You Blend and I've really liked it. Nearly done with it now and I reckon I'll get the Brazil one this time, thank you.

    • Fantastic to know our Thank You blend if such a winner for you, woohoo!!!

Thank you so much for another terrific order, fingers crossed you love our super special Brazil Single Origin even more :)

  • +1

Grinder fixed yet? It's bean a while, thanks

    • Before the fan boys tell me to buy a grinder, some people prefer ordering ground. We go through bags quickly in our office.
  • Grabbed a kilo for the lead up to Christmas, great job as always tom!

    • +1

Wonderful to know I'm in your good books, I'll keep working hard to stay there :)

Love your planning ahead skills to ensure you don't need to worry about running out of the good stuff, thank you so much for another fantastic order!

  • +2

    You're a legend mate.

I've tried all the bearded hipster crap in the inner suburbs that charge 2-3x what you do for a 1kg bag, hands down your stuff is as good if not better than some.

Keep up the good work, ordered another kg!

    • Absolutely fantastic to hear, I'm wrapped to know we're in your good books and I promised we'll keep working hard to stay there!!!

Thank you so much for another terrific order, it's truly appreciated :)

  • How much caffeine is in the swiss water decaff compared to a cup of tea?

    • +1

Our Swiss Water Process Decaf is ~99.9% caffeine free!

Little tricky to broadly compare as the caffeine level of teas depend on the type of tea, hopefully the above is enough info for you to get the answer you're after :)

      • Great, limiting my caffeine intake post midday but still enjoy the lime blue coffee taste, so will try a bag of the decaf!

  • Hey Tom,

I sent you an email this morning regarding adding on to my existing South Central blend :) Do you think you could have a look before you send it out today :)

    • Appreciate the follow up!

      Received and replied :)

  • @Lime Blue Coffee I cant add 1kg or 2kg of Kenya Nyeri Single Origin but 3kg can be added. It seemed odd as 3kg is 3 seperate 1kg packages as I understood. Is that a glitch or we can not buy 1kg only ?

    • +1

      Appreciate the check in!

A human glitch haha we're super super close to selling out of our Kenya so the SKUs just needed a reshuffle, you should be all good to go now :)

      • Thank you for the prompt action. Ordered 3kg in total. cheers

        • +1

Amazing, thank you so much for that outstanding order!!!

p.s. appreciate your human glitch patience :)

  • Hi LimeBlue,

What do you recommend for pour over?

    • All our options work a treat for both Pour Over/Filter and Espresso styles, if you'll be so kind as to answer the below I'll be in a better position to help narrow down the option/s for you :)

      1) Are you looking for a high, medium or low acidity kick?
      2) Are your go to flavour notes chocolate, fruity or somewhere in the middle?

      • I would like to try something fruity with low to medium acidity.

        • +1

          Appreciate the helpful info!

Our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin is chocolate and fruity with lowish acidity. If you want something fruitier with a medium acidity level then go for our Colombia Cauca Single Origin :)

  • I just bought 1kg of Brazil São Paulo Single Origin. I'm no regular coffee drinker nor expert, I only have a french press at home. What's the best way I can make this coffee?

    • That will be fine

  • @LimeBlueCoffee Any bean recommendation for latte drinker? I have not tried before. I would love to try it out.

    • +1

      This one

  • Trouble in 'Lostin' Land…

Too much coffee (most recently Inglewood blends).

Still, I've had most happy experiences with previous iterations of Lime Blue's Brazil São Paulo - so I've just ordered 3kg for next month. Just need to ensure that I can either give some away or that some freezer space magically opens up.

    Thanks for offering this deal!

    • +1

Too much coffee is one of those good type of problems @lostincanberra of course a totally unbiased comment from me haha

If all else fails just throw a coffee party, you'll be the most popular person in the street, hard to find a better way to bank some neighbour good will points. Thank you so much for another wonderful order and sharing that most welcomed compliment, it really does mean a lot to know your previous experiences with us has led you to purchase more fresh coffee from us even though you're all stocked up!!!

p.s. don't forget you can easily further the dispatch date beyond 30 Jan if needed, simply by clicking the blue button on your order confirmation email labelled "edit or view your order" then following the prompts to change the dispatch date (of course before the current dispatch date selected) :)

      • Many thanks!

We're lucky to have several 'local' roasters that deliver consistently reliable coffee AND go to the trouble of describing enough of the coffee bean characteristics that help us to choose 'the one'.

  • This might be might 3rd or 4th order 👌

    Lovely quality and ordering system.

Excited to try the Swiss decaf, really hoping it tastes as good for those late arvo coffees

  • Tom - any specials for ground coffee? Help before I have to go to Aldi :( I had a look at the website and its only beans for everything now?

    • Buy a grinder, there are cheap ones at sub $100 which are a massive step up from pre ground. I purchased this for my sister in law https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/125488751375 it has been good so far.

      • I know! But I don't want to I am too lazy at that time in the morning. I just get the grounds out of the fridge and straight to moka pot bleary eyed. Also don't want to wake the rest of the gang up…

  • Thanks, purchased 4 bags to use/freeze/distribute :)
