  • Any reason you've been looking at the RG35XX specifically rather than the Plus, H, etc.?

    • +2

Yeah now that muOS has matured I see no reason to buy the older model.

    • +5

      consistency, for the kids sake

same device means the kids cant complain one has a better device

also if i need ever need to swap a sd card, i know it will simply just boot and work no matter which rg35xx i put it in to

Makes sense. But very specific use case :)

same device means the kids cant complain one has a better device

that's high level parent thinking right there

Note: this appear to be the original RG35XX with the Cortex A9 Chipset and compatible with GarlicOS. Also no Wi-Fi.

Not to be confused with the New RG35XX with Allwinner H700 Chipset and compatible with muOS/Knulli.

    • No wifi no new system?

      • +1

The new RG35XX also doesn't have Wi-Fi, but all the other RG XX does (Plus, H, SP, Cube, 40, etc).

        EDIT: the RG28XX doesn't have Wi-Fi.

  • yeh this isnt good value…

  • Is it worth getting this or does someone suggest something else instead?

    • I have a miyoo mini +, love it. But I think there are better models out now..

    • Not sure which layout you prefer but
Here is a horizontal layout which is ergonomically more comfortable but does not give the old school Gameboy vibe

  • +1

I want to know what game they are fighting to play

    • Pokemon Leaf Green - GBA
      Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - GBA

  • How do you transfer to a new SD card?

    • im referring to if one console fails

I can just swap the SD cards over in to the working Console and my kid can just keep playing their game/game save

What's the latest version and what you guys are recommending?
Kinda thinking to buy for my kids (5yrs, 7yrs) for Christmas

  • How different are these compared to R36S in terms of hardware and gaming experience?

  • I get it and all for the kids, and I think you're smart for doubles and the memory card of it all, etc.

But two R36S' on sale for around the same price would probably be my move.

    • i agree :) two R36S would be the path i would have gone, if they already didn't get hooked on my R35XX

@kodi-j as @TheDukeOfNukem said, a couple of R36S would get you under $90 for two

should be suitable for up to PS1, including mega drive, snes, nes,gb,gbc, gba

        Thank you guys @TheDukeOfNukem@vanyellow

  • I'd back the Trimui Smart Pro. Add a swish cross-mix OS, and this little thing is a beast for the price. It has a great feel, screen size, and performance. What does everyone else think of it?
