Pb2000pro is a ripper price and I think all time low

  • +1

Yessss grabbed a PB2000Pro. Time to rewatch Blade Runner 2049.

  • Great prices… I love subwoofers.

  • +1

Been holding out for a deal on the PB 2000 Pro for a couple years to add another to my existing! (Paid $1,682.15 in 2022), too good to pass up.

  • Still hoping for a good discount on the SVS PC-4000
Doesnt even have to be as good as the 2 for 1 deal that I missed out on (Thanks for cancelling my order Clef)

    • +4

      Hi Daniel,

We'll be able to work you out a great deal on the PC4000, Stock is quite low on that model, so it's not something we can advertise.
Did you want to reach out to us on the live chat on our website or give us a call today and we'll work you out an exclusive deal.

  • +2

SB-3000 seems like a better deal tbh

  • That sub is a beast

  • +1

I bought the PB-1000 Pro last year during black Friday from CHT for $1199. Excellent speaker.

  • Man, what I would do to not have two shared walls…

    • Think about the people in apartments sharing ceiling or floor, and a wall!

    • +2

But you're sharing your sub with them!

No no, I appreciate you not being a horrible neighbour.

  • +1, whilst I’m not sure this is a good price for a subwoofer, it’s probably very good quality and it’s a bargain given the discount.

  • Great price. I managed to get my old sub repaired though so now I don't need to buy one.

    • You need to buy 3!
      One per wall 😍

  • Hey @Customht
I don't suppose you have any classic pb2000s just laying around that you can sell me? 😅
I have one, which is honestly enough, but a second would be nice 🤔😍

    • Those are fully finished now, unfortunately don't have an old demo unit either, as that was previously sold off.
You could integrate a PB-2000 Pro with your current subwoofer if you'd like to.

      • Yeah, always wondering.
Could always keep an eye out on gumtree/marketplace

        Thanks mate!
        I'd prefer matching.

        Great prices ❤️

        • I still have a pb12nsd , not used for years, how much canI hope to get in the second hand market?

          • @zxcvb: When I was looking for mine I did see them occasionally.

I think, from memory, I saw them go for around ~$350?

            • +1

@teereb: Thanks, Guess I'm keeping it until I get back to home theatre then.

What's everyone's thoughts on these? Basically the same as the adhesive rubber dots you can get from Bunnings for a few bucks or would these yield much better anti vibration results?

    • Absolutely zero information to go on there, the most technical term the use is the word 'elastometer' so it could be just about anything.

On the other hand, sorbothane is amazingly good for decoupling. But you select the sorbothane depending on the weight of the speaker that needs to be supported.

      • I'm trying to work out if they are a waste of money or not!

        • +1

Mate has the svs ones in his theatre room, under his 1 x pb1000 pros.

They make a difference. Cleaner delivery.

          • @teereb: Did he have his sub on hard floor prior to getting them? And he definitely noticed the difference?

            • @Lionheart: He has fairly thick and dense carpet.

              He noticed it.
I noticed it next time I went around.

We took it off and noticed it as a direct comparison as well.

Whether the difference is worth the ~$100 per sub to you is up to you.

Go into your local theatre store and ask to test. It will obviously vary from your home but it will give you an idea at least.

If you want cheaper options than this can get some little rubber cubes to do a similar job.

    • I’ve got them, they stopped vibration rattling from my amp that was in the same entertainment unit as the sub

      • Sorry mate, I don’t follow. You had them on your amp? Or on the sub that was in your entertainment unit?
        This exact style?

        • I installed them on my sub. Have an open entertainment unit that comfortably fits sub & amp next to it. Pre-feet install any sub usage would cause the amp to rattle; after installing the feet no more rattle, no matter how deep the bass. Didn't really look into other alternatives, basically read some forum posts online and went for it. They definitely stopped vibrations been pushed through to the unit.

          • @Randolph Duke: My sub sits on tiles…I wonder if it would be required as much as your scenario. Thanks for your reply

            • @Lionheart: Nah I don't think so, unless it was on a second level or house is on stumps, and trying to stop bass been transmitted through the house.

              • @Randolph Duke: I don’t think so either, on tiles, ground floor, I’ll try without and if needed I’ll get later, cheers bro

  • Thoughts on 3000 micro VS pb-2000 pro?

    • Interesting comparison really. Both great subs in their own right. 3000 Micro is very musical, think fast, tight bass which integrates really well with the speakers for music. The PB-2000 Pro will definitely go lower with a little more authority. So I'd say if priority is Music or it's a smaller space then 3000 Micro. If it's mainly for movies or a larger space the PB-2000 Pro is the way to go.

      • Thanks for the quick response mate!

  • @Customht which sub would best fit a 5.5m x 4.5m living room in an open floor plan with kitchen and dining are right next to it?

i currently have the svs ultra towers and centre as well

    • Will is be mainly for Movies? or quite a lot of music as well?

      • equally. i dont need chest thumping room filling bass. looking for more range of sound and feel to an extent.

    • +1

I got similar challenge with open floor plan configuration. IMO, whatever you buy, it won't reach its full potential.
Before parting with your hard earn cash, try to optimise the subwoofer location first.
I did that with a phone and a sound meter app.
I got a nasty dip at around 80hz although the subwoofer was on the corner of the room.
Moving the subwoofer a third of the length from right side of the room gives back those 80hz.. not so much from left side though strangely.
Lucky are those who have a dedicated HT room :).

      • do you recommend going with ported or sealed in that case?

        • I only ever have front ported front firing subs.
According to the internet, ported subs can reach much lower frequencies than the sealed ones.
YMMV because of your room dimension, furniture, windows, floor material etc… will affect soundwaves differently.
          I'm no audiophile (or rich).
I'm using richter 12" sub that I bought from gumtree.
I'm happy with it and that's what matter to me :)

          • @jolygood: i'm on the fence as most forum discussions say there's no way a sub will be able to pressurise a large area, maybe not even 2 x 18" subs.

i'm sure it'll improve the overall sound, but probably not a +$1k improvement.

  • I am running my current theatre setup with two PB-1000 Pro speakers. Would upgrading to PB-2000 Pro provide better bass improvement? Or should I look into PB-3000, as my theatre room dimensions are 5m W X 6m L?

    • +1

There is quite a step up in performance from the PB-1000 Pro to the PB-2000 Pro, so it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
PB-3000 is better again but it's always going to come down to budget. 2 x PB2000 Pro's would also be better than 1 x PB3000, so keep that in mind.

      • Thank you and I am tempted to get 2 of PB-2000 Pro.

    • Have 2x PB-1000 Pro in my setup as well. My room is not as big as yours but can't imagine needing any more haha

  • What are the main differences between the 3000 Micro and the SB-2000 Classic? What is more appropriate for a small-medium room for both music and home theatre?

What are the main advantages of paying the extra $600+ to upgrade to the SB-3000?

    • The 3000 micro has dual 8" drivers and has a smaller footprint but larger powered amplifier. It also has app control for adjustments. SB-2000 has a larger driver. 3000 micro excels with music, personally think it's the most musical of the SVS Range.

SB-3000 has a larger driver with a powerfull amplifier behind it. It's quite good with music still but would have more output for movies compared to the other 2 and go lower in the frequency range.

  • +1

I'm guessing PB-1000 is low on stock?

  • Thankyou CHT for accepting my deposit on 2x PB2000 Pro's with the remainder to be paid at end of month when my inheritance comes in.

Has been a very bleak year since my mum passing but as a huge lover of cinema and home theatre I can't help but smile.

    I currently have

RECEIVER- ANTHEM MRX720 (scored on gumtree for $1700)

    FRONT - KLIPSCH RP-6000F
    CENTRE - KLIPSCH RP-450C
    SURROUND - KLIPSCH RP600M
    SUB - 1x SVS PB1000 Pro

Gonna be a huge upgrade moving from 1x PB1000 pro to 2x PB2000 Pro!!

    • Love my setup, if i was to change anything it would be to move to Krix epicentrix and neuphonix but that is a very costly upgrade

      • And worth every cent. Esp the epicentrix.

    • +1

Great to hear we were able to help you out Ben and hopefully put a smile on your face. Looks like you're building a great system there.

  • Is it a bad idea to pair with SVS SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter?

    • It's a good idea if you want to place the subwoofer where it isn't easy to run the subwoofer cable to. Ofcourse will still require power at the subwoofer though.

  • @Customht Will the Denon X3800H be on special anytime soon or should I wait for Black Friday? I would love a deal if I can get the sub and receiver but I would have to convince the wife.

    • Yes, reach out (via live chat or phone) and can discuss a deal on those.

  • @Customht any deals on the SB-1000 Pro?

    • +1

Not a massive one at this stage but reach out and can discuss a custom deal for you.

I was just reading on the SVS Australian website that the port plugs aren’t included with PB models, you have to buy them separately for $29 each 🤯, when did SVS start charging for them? That’s crazy, when I bought my pair of PB13 Ultra subs 6 port plugs (3 for each) were provided in the boxes for free.

“Note: SVS Port Plugs are not included. SVS Port Plugs are sold separately and are available here”:
