  • Do these things degrade if stored for more than X months/years?

    • I don't know about years, but I buy these bags 6x and just keep them under the laundry sink. Never had an issue with them being stored for about 9 months. I think if kept cool/out of sunlight/heat, they are fine.

    • I live in high humidity and they start to have issue for me after about 6 months. I also keep mine under laundry sink.

Even at half the ridiculously inflated price these are still expensive. Dishwasher powder does the trick and is far cheaper per wash.

Agreed… for for convenience most people use tabs. Drop one and go. The no fragrance is a big deal for me… no strong lemon cleaning smells throughout the house.

      • +1

Its a big deal for me too, but not at that price, will live with the fragrance before paying that sort of price.

    • +2

Since watching Technology Connection's dishwasher video I will be switching to powder to get some of that sweet pre-wash action.

    • FInding powder at the supermarket is getting harder and harder. Woolies carries one brand near me…

      • The only ones if found are in plastic bottles - would prefer a cardboard box tbh

        • At least you can recycle those. The soft plastic these dishwasher tabs are packaged in can’t be recycled.

    0% Free From Dishwashing

So what do they do then?

    • +6

So if it's 0% free from dishwashing, does this mean you have to do 100% of the dishwashing?

  • How do these compare with the Aldi tabs for 14 cents per tab? https://www.aldi.com.au/groceries/laundry-household/househol…

      Choice magazine - October 2023:

      Aldi Logix Capsules - 76% - $0.26 per capsule
      Finish Ultimate 0 - 74% - $0.51 per tab
      Aldi Logix Tabs - 72% - $0.14 per tab

Call it a "wash" on performance, however on price…

The aldi generic ones are no good. The old platinum logix tablets were much better

So coles and woolies are off to the ACCC regarding their BS 1/2 price items etc.
Every coles I go into, has Finish dishwashing tablets at "1/2 price", but realistically, they never go back to full price.
After Finish was doing it, some of the other brands started doing the same thing.

So I just ignore this 1/2 price rubbish, and look at the unit price of 57c.

Getting down to 37c by subscribing makes it a good deal though.

      the price

  • if you have the Catch One Pass, you can get this for just 35.4cent/each.

But i just go with Amazon.

    • Catch marketplace, doesn’t seem eligible for free shipping with One Pass.

Still doesn’t beat the Aldi Logix tablets at 14c each. Why would I pay more?

    • +1

Woolworths Shine powder and any brand rinse aid cleans my dishes perfectly. Probably 5 cents a wash.

Using powder, you can use the pre-rinse function and use much less detergent than a tablet. Little powder for small or not so dirty load. More powder for a dirty load.

Not all powder are the same. Aldi powder sucks balls, leaving a powdery residue even on high temp wash.

      • The Shine powder can do a good job and is great for soaking, but it is more alkaline than these or the Aldi tablets, which may or not matter depending on what you put in the dishwasher.

        • +2

I've never noticed the ph of the detergent.

          According to Choice tests
          - Woolworths Shine Dishwasher Powder Concentrate 10.859
          - Aldi Logix All In One Dishwasher Tablets 10.664

So yes more alkaline, it has never really mattered to me. Never pitted my stainless steel cutlery or etched my glassware. This could be a problem if you use too much powder which most people do.

I generally 1/2 a teaspoon in the pre-rinse cycle and 1 teapsoon in the main wash cycle. Seems too little but it's more than enough to get it sparkling clean.

50c per tab is still expensive

    • -2

ive found 50c is the magic number. less than this, a good deal. more than this, dont buy.

      • +2

        14 cents is better…

      • +1

Aldi standard price for near Finish Ultimate equivalents is 28c. That's my approximate baseline for a good deal.

  • +2

50c… gee aldis ones are soooooooooooooo much cheaper

  • 41c each at Woolies right now.

  • i like this, it doesnt have any smell

  • Thanks bought. Lemon is very strong I'll try this one, good timing only had 5 pods left

  • Out of stock, unfortunately.

    • Still in stock, but isn't delivering to your postcode / area in WA.

    • Just checked now, still in stock

    • different product

      • the name is the same: Finish Powerball Ultimate

        • This one is the zero fragrance one. Good for anyone who's sensitive to strong perfumes and gets headaches from them.

The normal Ultimate you're linking to has a really strong smell. Different product and price.
