    41wh battery

    1080p screen

    With a 17.3" display

Won't be the best experience using this, no?

if 90% uses case is pluged in to 4k external monitor with power on the desk, maybe okay
and bring to work (by car so weight is not an issue) if needed, basically a desktop replacement but more flexible we can move it from one to other places

      • Except the USB-C doesn't support display out, so this is pretty meh.

        • +5

and hdmi is 1.4b so it does 4k but at 30hz only

          certified eye killer

@Brrrrt: Thanks to everyone who sorts through the specs like this..

          • @Brrrrt: This laptop makes it look like one of HP's accountants won a bet with his boss that he/she couldn't use up all those boxes of antiquated connectors festering on their stock database since 2013.

For a basic multimedia/general purpose internet machine it's not terrible for the price but there are many better options at this price point if the use case is 'hooked up to a monitor'.

            • @BinaryPirate: I'm looking at this one for my parents.

This seems like it could be ok for them.

Use case: looking for a large screen laptop and don't use an external monitor, it functions as a desktop 95% of the time, very rarely used on actual lap sitting on couch, weight is not an issue (only used in home office or caravan, not carried anywhere else). Only using Microsoft platform or browser most of the time, no games.

The camera quality seems a bit low but should be ok for occasional Zoom calls.

I'm interested in your comment though - would you have another specific suggestion at that price point that might be better for them? The screen size is large so I haven't found anything comparable.

There's probably a better option with a second monitor but they always just bought large laptop screens because they want to use it when travelling in the caravan and don't have a second monitor. which limits the options a bit! Thanks!

        • omg yeah didnt see that.. omg hdmi 1.4 thats pretty stingy
