This is as good as it gets for Flybuys/Velocity transfer bonuses nowadays.

Between 12:00am AEDT Mon 4 November 2024 and 11:59pm AEDT Sun 24 November 2024 (Promotion Period), Flybuys members who have linked their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account and make an eligible transfer of Flybuys points to Velocity during the Promotion Period will earn bonus Velocity Points based on transfer preference:

  • 5% bonus Velocity Points on the value of Velocity Points received on your next manual transfer when you transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points to Velocity; or

  • 15% bonus Velocity Points on the value of Velocity Points received on your first ever Auto Transfer when you transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points to Velocity. To be eligible, you must turn on Auto Transfer during the Promotion Period and the Auto Transfer must be your first ever Auto transfer.

Each Flybuys member is eligible for one allocation of bonus Velocity Points which will be calculated on the first eligible transfer that the member successfully completes during the Promotion Period. Bonus Velocity Points will be awarded to the member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer account within 4 weeks from the end of the Promotion Period. Bonus Velocity Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Flybuys' privacy policy applies. Standard Flybuys terms and conditions apply and are available at flybuys.com.au.

Manual transfer to receive 5% bonus Velocity Points
If you choose to make a manual transfer as your next transfer within the Promotion Period, you will receive 5% bonus Velocity Points on the base number of Velocity Points you receive on your first manual transfer from Flybuys to Velocity during the Promotion Period. A maximum of 10,000 bonus Velocity Points for completing a manual transfer will be awarded per member during the Promotion Period.

Auto Transfer to receive 15% bonus Velocity Points
If you choose to turn on Auto Transfer and complete an Auto Transfer as your first ever transfer during the Promotion Period, you will receive 15% bonus Velocity Points on the base number of Velocity Points you receive on your first Auto Transfer from Flybuys to Velocity during the Promotion Period. A maximum of 30,000 bonus Velocity Points for completing your first Auto Transfer will be awarded per member during the Promotion Period. This offer is not available to members who have already completed an Auto Transfer prior to the Promotion Period

If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to receive 500 Velocity Points per 1,000 Flybuys points transferred to Velocity. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer and if you choose to do this, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically transferred into 500 Velocity Points. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/. Visit flybuys.com.au/transfer to manually transfer your Flybuys points. Alternatively, to turn on Auto Transfer, visit partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/ and sign in to your Flybuys account then turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘On’. This selection will apply to all members under that specific Flybuys household account. You can turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘Off’ at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity.

    So to hit the maximum bonus of 30k velocity you would need 400k flybuys - is my maths right?

    And best off waiting until 23 Nov to turn on auto transfer, to collect more flybuys in the meantime

    To get the maximum 10,000 bonus velocity points, I would need 10,000 x 100/5 = 200,000 Flybuys points. Am I correct?

      The last two 5-15% bonuses were in May 2024 and Sep 2023. They also do fixed transfer bonuses of up to 1,000 points (e.g. Jul 2024) but they're not as good.

        Hi Vantage, so the question is I have about 133k in flybuys which is not much , would I just hold out for next round or would I take advantage of this promo now, I'm usually a Frequent flyer collector. so don't really focus on Virgin till now.

      Reading the T&Cs, seems like they only consider transfers made during the promotion period which is between Nov 4 and 24.

        You can transfer from citi bank to FB and then FB to velocity.

          Well if you follow the T&C's:

          Auto Transfer automatically transfers every 1,000 Flybuys points to your linked Velocity account for 500 Velocity Points.

          Technically this can be considered the first auto transfer.

          However, the 30,000 bonus Velocity Points limit for this wouldn't make sense then.

            @tlai: When you turn it on it will transfer everything rounding down to the nearest 1000. If I have 271,845 it will transfer 271,000 fb points = 135,500 velocity.

            Remainder 845 fb. So now whenever my fb balance reaches 1000 it will automatically trigger transfer.

            Auto Transfer automatically transfers every 1,000 Flybuys points to your linked Velocity account for 500 Velocity Points.

    I am trying to enable the auto transfer, but cannot find how to do it. I tried on the app in Partner preferences, and it navigated me to the website. I visited the https://experience.flybuys.com.au/partners/velocity-frequent… and cannot find the button to toggle on the auto-transfer. Is it disabled?

      I clicked on your link, and logged into my flybuys account. It then directed me to link my velocity which I logged into.

      I scrolled down a bit and there is a box that says

      Auto Transfer your points
      Every time you collect 1,000 Flybuys points, we'll automatically transfer them to your Velocity account for 500 Velocity Points.

      with a toggle to turn on.

        Thanks for checking, I didn't see those words in that page. In Explore Velocity Frequent Flyer section, I can see Make a manual transfer with transfer now link, Auto Transfer for auto entry without any link. May be I need contact the customer service

            @CodeXD: I also noticed some differences before and after. Previously, even though it showed as linked, the balance and credit in the My Velocity Account section displayed as zero. After I re-linked the account, it correctly reflected my actual balance in my Velocity account.

      No, any transfer into velocity from non-flybuys do not count as flybuys…
