@easternculture: Hell yeah brother! My 6 invoices came through between 01:19 and 01:21 this morning as well. Looks like we're in the clear, should have ordered more lol!

                      • @TheDukeOfNukem: People make silly comments that im trolling and making things up even after i post proof

                        • -2

@easternculture: Lmao, the X Sight 2 is finally out of stock. I spent the last 25ish minutes ordering 15 of the buggers.

EC and JV are my idols.

Might order one of the button ones too for the kiddo. Already got a few Nokias around for him to screw with but who doesn't love opening up a new toy?

                          • @TheDukeOfNukem: Your in for a suprise early next week if all my orders are fullfilled, stay tuned lol

I have 3 button ones to keep in the car as backup emergency phones as they have days and days of battery life

                            • @easternculture: Love the "backup" just like the backup Game Boy I have in there for if the one on my keychain is flat. A backup is good, several backups is better. I definitely need them all.

I did think about an actual backup phone at one point a year or two back, I do about 20ish hours driving for work a fortnight and it would suck to have a fault and my phone's flat or updating or is in a deadzone, etc. anyway, got a $5 Aldi SIM and left it in an old Nokia for ages, shocker, never used it outside of going on old school Facebook here and there for fun.

In terms of an actual backup though, I think one of the X Pros wouldn't be a bad idea, since it has NFC, you could put your real bank account on there, and then leave it in the glovebox turned off until you need it with a cheapo SIM in it. In a pinch, it's a communicator, it's a map, it's now another bank card too. As far as genuine backups go, it's probably not a halfway terrible idea.

                              • @TheDukeOfNukem: Problem with touch screen smart phones is they drain battery even when turned off.

With dumb phones, you almost find full charge even after a few months which is why i like them as backups

Smart phone dies, pull out dumb phone and insert sim

                                • @easternculture: Surely you can remove the battery on the X Pro? Most budget phones I've used here and there still allow battery removal / replacement, it's one of the better things about them. That and the Micro SD and 3.5mm jack.

Throwing your SIM into the dumb phone in an emergency is the way though, somehow didn't occur to me.

    • But not many people buy from gumtree anymore

  • +1

Amaysim has been suspended on all cashback sites lol

    • As Gerry would say - It was the work of professionals.

  • it's just $31 very cheap!

For People who bought this deal and would like to unlock it you can use the 9999 SMS method or Optus site. Optus Support Page: https://www.optus.com.au/support/answer?id=1399 Amaysim confirmed it can be unlocked for no charge

    • +1

No charge? That is good news

    • Should have placed my order this morning if I knew this earlier lol. Thought they all made it harder to unlock.

    • Is that just the Oppo?

    • -2

Amaysim confirmed it can be unlocked for no charge

You WILL be charge an UN-locking fee, read link carefully.

May be commenters should take care to AVOID MIS-information, see responders who've been MIS-lead.

    • Thanks. It’s work.

    • +1

just unlocked the oppo, no fees. Thank you @Cocochicken.

      and fk those spreading mis-informaiton

    • Just unlocked mine using the link and 9999 MENU. No payment required .
      Thanks

  • Just got a StarTrack delivery pop up in my Auspost App. Probably the Phone.

    • Same

    • Guessed the same. Pretty swift from them considering the influx of ozbers

      • super fast delivery, got a message about 5 hours ago.

  • I bought 5. All shipped Thanks OP

  • Did this go out of stock within 15mins of posting? How did I miss this?

  • My Dad has this phone. When it was still getting software updates, it was quite a good phone.

    • I'm guessing that stopped a few years ago

      • Last year iirc.

I'm actually on the lookout for a new dual sim phone for him as the A53s is on its way out. Has been for a few months now. Hoping the Samsung A25 drops in price to something reasonable as it does come with quite a few years of software updates which is what we need.

  • What a pity that I just found out you can just inspect the service page and remove the "disabled" and then select the sim card. Mine isn't activated yet so could only grab 1 phone.

  • Can someone confirm that the Optus X Pro can be unlocked for free?

    Thanks

  • My first order (before I went ham on the X Sight 2 a day or two later when it was somehow still in stock) is on board for delivery today. Thanks again OP!

  • Recieved my 3 orders today in Vic.

  • Got 1 today. No notifications on the others i ordered on Sat.

  • Have to pay a $25 unlocking fee it seems..

    • Mine unlocked free via the 9999 menu process

      • What is 9999 menu process please explain? Thanks

    • My burner vodafail seems to work just fine on this a53s. Came unlocked i guess

    • Mmmm.. maybe because the number I am using is not ported over to optus? Did get a sim with it but still not active.

      • Ok so got a message saying the sim is active. Did it again and no cost. So if you use a optus sim it seems to be free. Yay

        • Can you explain what you mean? Putting in an Optus sim allows you to unlock it?

  • -2

    all mine unlocked free

    • Is all Oppo or Optus phones as well ..

  • haha, so it begins. Already see one up online.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/356221572014?

At that price, surely it won't last long.

  • Anyone that got more than one and is willing to sell one at a reasonable price I would be interested, Melbourne location

  • I received my phone yesterday. It's a bit slow, but not too bad for a budget phone. I didn’t even have to enter the unlock code to unlock it. it worked immediately with an Aldi Mobile sim.

  • For what it's worth kiddies, I got my initial 6, ordered across 2 exiting services, no problem days ago.

The ones I ordered after the mark were rejected today, they said because there's a limit of 3 per month per account.

    I say this because
A: if you got more than 3 you're lucky
B: keep checking the site, the 15 X Sights I ordered may yet pop back in stock sometime if you missed out on round one

  • Ordered 10 of the sight 2. Was thinking it would be nice to hand out for my kids bday next year hahaha. Just got an email stating its been cancelled and i will be refunded lol. Worth a shot lol

  • I don’t know it’s posted before on this thread, I can confirm unlocking is free

Good news. We’ve found an unlock code for your device.
    Device
    OPPO A53s
    Charge
    $0
You’ll not be charged for this unlock.

  • OPPO A53s arrived today.
Bloody bargain. Even came with a screen protector applied and a free case!

    • How many did you order and how many arrived?

      • +2

        2 phones.
        One OPPO A53s
One optus X pro which I'm giving to a neighbour who can't afford a phone rn.

        They both arrived together.

        • That’s awesome stuff. I missed out on the Oppo but did order a X pro, but still no news.

          • @TomGum: I didn't get any notification about it being shipped out, just about the fact it was out for delivery.

        • Was the optus X pro the 4G or 5G version?

  • +8

Even though I posted this deal, I didn't even order one. Practicing No Net November; the absence of spending this month.

  • So 2 of the other 10 phones just got shipped making if 3 in total which is still a massive bargain. Tx OP.

  • The Optus X phones are now in stock.

    • OOS now, that was quick

      • X sight 2 is still in stock. Probably could be used as a cheap hotspot.
