TIL they remade Scream… a movie that was perfect as is and did not need it
They didn't remake it, it's just a sequel and they dropped the numbers to poke fun at remakes
in this effective and winking "requel" for the meta mayhem franchise.
Good timing for Halloween to have yourself a spooky night in.
ETA November 14 for delivery lol
Brooklyn Nine-Nine heist marathon or nothing
I picked this up locally from JB HiFi I think for $12.50 on 4K
+BD last year in May during their B1G1F promo sale… Steelbooks mean nothing to me, it’s only when the standard 4K edition doesn’t include a 1080p Blu-ray but the Steelbook does for a few dollar more that I choose the steelbook over the cheaper standard edition. What’s truly a shame is that the 40th Anniversary edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street isn’t available locally just before Halloween while this promotion is running, and that we have to wait until December for it… At least it’s getting a local release though.
So are the 4k uhd and bluray both region free or just the 4k?
Just 4K, BD are always region locked unless stated otherwise.
@adinico - This is not true, 1080p Blu-rays included are certainly not always region locked unless stated otherwise, and I wish people on OzBargain would stop saying this, and taking everything that’s written on Amazon as gospel. Maybe instead of posting on and visiting OzBargain, you should be spending more time reading and posting on Blu-ray.com, because you would be aware then that what you have said here is inaccurate and you are spreading misinformation.
"Spreading misinformation" - LMFAO
"taking everything that’s written on Amazon as gospel" - So if the seller i.e "Amazon" is wrong I can argue my point & get a refund due to their incorrect post, correct? What if Blu-ray.com was wrong, can I use the site as an argument for a refund from Amazon, is that how things work???
"Maybe instead of posting on and visiting OzBargain, you should be spending more time reading and posting on Blu-ray.com" - Then how would I find this deal???
"you would be aware then that what you have said here is inaccurate and you are spreading misinformation" - Post links of detailed third party analysis to prove your statement then, that show that Amazon listings are less accurate than Blu-ray.com. I'll wait……
Block-quoteWhat if Blu-ray.com was wrong…> Block-quote
It can happen from time to time, however Blu-ray.com is still far more accurate than Amazon. The Blu-ray.com database is a member managed system… You should also read the thread for the title on Blu-ray.com, because the region coding information has sometime been posted, but it hasn’t been updated for the specific title in the database.
As this is Paramount release, the 1080p Blu-ray included in this set is likely a region free A, B & C compatible release, because it’s rare for Paramount to region lock their 1080p Blu-ray titles.

•The website is only useful as a source of information for reviews and release dates but the forums are extremely toxic and full of trolls and other jackasses. The forum moderators are immature and typically assholes."
Oh WoW, would you look at that, 2K disc is Region locked just as advertised on Amazon, who would've funked it!
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Scream-4K-Blu-ray/309226/@adinico: Typical. Oh wow would you look at that, a person on OzBargain doesn’t understand how to read the Blu-ray.com database, and makes the incorrect claim that a title is region A locked when that’s not what it says. For this title it states on Blu-ray.com “2K Blu-ray: Region A (B, C untested)”, which means it’s a region A release, and currently no member has reported that they have tested the disc to confirm whether it’s also region B and C compatible. If it was region A locked it would state “2K Blu-ray: Region A (locked)”, for example:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/From-Paris-with-Love-Blu-ray/…
@[Deactivated]: And whats the likelihood of a US released 2K disc being unlocked exactly???
@adinico: It depends on the studio/distributor. For this particular release slim, because it’s a Paramount release, and Paramount rarely region lock their 1080p Blu-ray titles.
@[Deactivated]: So slim that no one on Blu-ray.com has bothered to give an update in 2yrs right?
"Maybe instead of posting on and visiting OzBargain, you should be spending more time reading and posting on Blu-ray.com" - LMFAO
@adinico: For a studio/distributor such as Paramount that’s well known on that site by members for not region locking their titles, then yes it’s not uncommon for members not to bother updating the database with region coding information.
@[Deactivated]: WoW, what a great resourceful site you've pointed out, so informative that if information is missing/left blank than it must have an inside meaning.
Again, I point to my favorite comment:"The website is only useful as a source of information for reviews and release dates but the forums are extremely toxic and full of trolls and other jackasses. The forum moderators are immature and typically assholes.""
Are you a mod on there by chance?
Also, if I clearly left the caveat (as you referenced) "unless stated otherwise", why the little rant, does it make you feel special?

@adinico: You have missed the point completely. You should be informed and educated enough yourself not to need to rely on websites and reviews for information the majority of the time. Obviously I have misjudged you and have given you more credit than you deserve, because you seem to need to be told rather than being able to think for yourself, and like the sound of your own voice when you tell people the incorrect information about a title supposedly being region locked…
@[Deactivated]: LFMAO "You should be informed and educated enough yourself not to need to rely on websites and reviews" yet you sited Blu-Ray.com, you might want to look up the meaning of "oxymoron" to understand yourself & replies better.
"Obviously I have misjudged you and have given you more credit than you deserve, because you seem to need to be told rather than being able to think for yourself, and like the sound of your own voice when you tell people the incorrect information about a title supposedly being region locked…"
Where exactly did you give me credit with your initial reply exactly, pls point it out to me…

You do understand comments are linear & time stamped?
@adinico: I saw this Blu-ray post pop up on my feed and I figured cevolution aka "Billy Bob" would be here, throwing his holier-than-thou weight around, making sure everyone knew about his self-given authority on all things AV and Blu-ray.
After he got called out on OZB for his horribly toxic and misogynistic behaviour (and then found to be the same 'cevolution' that was booted from his beloved blu-ray.com forums, as well as his penalty box placement on Whirlpool), he tried to cover his tracks by changing his name to Billy Bob and has since deleted his account on blu-ray.com. The fact that he's still here arrogantly doing what he does best doesn't surprise me. But you're better off ignoring him. He's had dozens of run-ins with other members here (threats were made also which is why he got sin-binned on OZB for a week) and he's nothing but a time suck. And you'll never have the final say, which is amusing considering he accuses you of liking "the sound of your own voice".
@adinico: You originally stated “Just 4K, BD are always region locked unless stated otherwise.”, which I replied to because that statement is in fact incorrect, and you are misleading other members of OzBargain and falsely turning them off of this deal by making such statements. What I meant by my comment “obviously I have misjudged you and have given you more credit than you deserve” is, I tried to be helpful to you and more importantly other members so that you don’t continue to misinform people on OzBargain, however instead of responding and being an adult about it and simply acknowledging that you made a mistake and are wanting to learn so that you don’t continue misinforming the membership of OzBargain, you have chosen like so many members do on OzBargain to argue about it instead.
@[Deactivated]: Ok "teacher", how is it "misinformation" if I had an obvious caveat in my statement, just like one in the Amazon listing & even your beloved quoted website?
Do you understand how words work in a sentence Teacher Billy Bob?
"because you seem to need to be told rather than being able to think for yourself, and like the sound of your own voice when you tell people the incorrect information"
If I can't "think for myself" I wouldn't be able to give my rebuttals now would I genius?
"Sound of your own voice", hey champ, we're typing on here, not talking, someone as highly intellectual as yourself should know the difference & not make such asinine replies lolBlock-quoteOk "teacher", how is it "misinformation" if I had an obvious caveat in my statement, just like one in the Amazon listing & even your beloved quoted website?Do you understand how words work in a sentence Teacher Billy Bob?> Block-quote
Do you understand how words work in a sentence, clearly not? It would be one thing if you made a comment saying ‘purchase with caution because the 1080p Blu-ray could be region locked’, however that’s not what you said. You stated the following:
“Just 4K, BD are always region locked unless stated otherwise.”
This is general statement about USA 1080p Blu-rays, where you have said that they’re always region locked unless stated otherwise, which isn’t true at all and therefore is misinformation that’s misleading to members… Plenty of U.S. 1080p Blu-ray releases are region free A, B & C discs when it only states region A on the cover.
If you’re not sure, then you shouldn’t be making comment as though you are.
Block-quoteIf I can't "think for myself" I wouldn't be able to give my rebuttals now would I genius?> Block-quote
And what pointless and meaningless rebuttals they are. If you were a genius you wouldn’t be here arguing with me over this especially when you made a mistake, you would just acknowledge this and move on, and instead you could be reading up on it to educate yourself more on the subject.
