Been watching TPG’s career with great interest: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9kpy0rlx

    • why?

I "cancelled" my parents TPG connection early June but got slugged with an "extra month". Connection closed on July. Early August received an email later saying they owed me $10.

Called em up about it and customer support said they submitted a form to get that paid back. A week later I was charged another $10.

Those bozos (profanity) up again the next time I called, charged me $1 credit card auth on top of the $20 they owed me.

Every time I spoke to them they somehow kept taking more money from me AFTER the connection has been cancelled.

Eventually got pissed and documented the whole thing dates and all, mentioned ombudsman. Got a reply from their finance department quick smart. Money finally landed on my account today, close to 3 months later.

      • More Telecom did the same, they reversed it after calling them

      • -1

Did they give you a formal apology too?

TPG's customer service sucks, they increased my monthly fee today without any notice, I chatted with them online to ask for a reason, they said would call today, I waited until 4pm,but nobody call me, so I transferred to another nbn service, and told tpg to cancel my account, they said they would call me today again, still no one called me.

    • Who did you go with ?

        dodo,250/25Mbps — $78.9/m for 12m

eee good luck dodo customer service is horrible also

Careful if u are churning through NBN providers. TPG forces you to give a month notice before cancellation or they charge the extra month.

Do you know if Superloop or other providers do the same?

      • +1

        Superloop = 30 days

        • Ok thank you 👍

    • +1

Does transfer to another provider also need a month notice ? Once u signup the new one, the new provider transferred u just in several minutes.

Don't let the 30days/1 month notice discourage you from switching. It's pretty easy process:
        1. Notify the existing provider you would like to terminate, clarify if any contract or exit fees
        2. Find out the last date of termination
        3. Sign up the new provider, specify the start date. I always give myself 1-2 days buffer, in case something unexpected like delays or unable to configure the modem, I still can switch back to the old one.

    • For those looking at this discount, look at IInet as well as its the exact same company, owned operated by TPG, also have a special at the moment that works out as the same $$ over time and they don't have the 30 days nonsense.
I won't go with one of these providers as the charge is in fact a tax. NBN cease charging them from the moment a person transfers away. In my opinion instead of relying on the quality of their service to retain customers they use these sorts of methods.
There are other quality internet providers such as Leaptel, Buddy, Launtel, Aussie who do the right thing… and you also get a variety of pricing in that bunch as well.
