    I was paying $85 for 1000/50

THEE jv commented on my first post :D pls do share your bargains with us

      • +1

They won't share bargains, unless you consider their comments 🙄 a bargain (most don't).

        • They won't share bargains

          Who won't ?

    • +4

      was

    • How did you sign up for the $85 for 1000/50 deal?

      • It was posted here around Aug/Sep…

    • How???

  • +14

there are a lot of other providers providing >30% cheap price comparing to aussie broadband like more, superloop and many others. I think Aussie broadband is still living in 2010.

    • +8

The enshitification of AussieBB is well underway.

      • +4

Well peeps downvote. Aussiebb prices went to crap just before their IPO.

So downvote cause superloop 1000/50 is $99

        • +2

          Totally agree

        • Personally the 100/20 works perfect for my household of 2 people and im getting it for the NBN not Fibre as we rent and house owner doesn’t want to get the free fibre upgrade:( also it’s the same price superloop is offering for $75 so i was mainly aiming this deal for small households and non-gamers that can score a different option for relative same prices

    • +11

There are lots of cheaper providers, and lots of providers providing poor service.

Price and value are different things.

      • -1

Yes completely agree that is why I would never save a buck going with superloop.

        • +2

Interesting. I’ve never had any problems with Superloop.

          • @Slo20: They are good until you need customer support and then they are amongst the worst…..worse than Optus even😅

  • +5

HFC connection doesn't work with code. Either way it's still pricey AF. Aussie broadband used to be an ozbargain staple, not so much now

    • +2

For a rock-solid FTTP connection, with fast aussie customer service, and a connection that I never have to think about because it's super fast and reliable… well, Dodo might be cheaper, but it's likely to be crappier (my neighbour, same street, with TPG, can't get the same speeds that I can, probably attributed to ABB's structure) and if there's ever a problem, good luck with the cheap provider..

    • Super loops 100/20 is also discounted from $89 to $75 for six months
      ABB is $5 more

  • +11

I'll stick with Leaptel and Superloop churn thanks. ABB priced themselves off this website.

  • +3

Why can’t they offer this same six month deal for existing customers? A little unfair..

    • +1

Totally agreed, i would call up if i saw this as an existing customer

      • +2

May have more luck than i did about 3 weeks back. Called up prior to commencing a churn to leaptel for $75 100/20. Best price retention team could do was $85. So churned out. Was pretty annoyed when i saw the same letterbox drop promotion ~a week ish later for new customers at tjat same price i was looking for.

    • Call them and ask for the retention team - just tell them you're going to move to Buddy if they dont give you promo price for the next 12 months - I mean you could also actually move to Buddy and save money given its Aussie Broadbands network but that's a different story….worked for me last time they did this…..you might get oh we cant we cant then suddenly we can….

  • +1

Each to their own! ABB do have better links internationally, their congestion limits are next to none and their direct peering with game is actually better. Superloop is close second, Leaptel is meh…people only like them for 12month pricing.

    • Agreed! Been with leaptel and was going to go superloop after seeing your post but luckily this popped in the mail haha saved a few more bucks $75 for 100/20 and for a good service is a bargain in my books

      • 100% don't get me wrong Superloop is a good bargain, but really ABB has really invested in their network! I personally am on BuddyTelco and will just be churning once a year on black friday back and fourth with ABB and BuddyTelco. To save as much as i can but im tired of leaving ABB network as always disappointed with international routing.

        • +1

Doesnt buddy telco and Aussie Broadband share the same network and links?

    • Finally, someone gets it. There's more than cost and customer support to review when you compare RSP to RSP. I've been on Launtel, Superloop, Telstra and Future. General web browsing (the activity me and my family use the internet for most) is noticeably faster on ABB. Even my non-tech wife notices that pages load faster on ABB. I am on FTTP with everything hardwired where possible and wifi 6 with compatible wireless devices. Ubiquiti gear. The only variable each time I've tested is the RSP. I've churned away from ABB twice previously and now I'll stick with them, even if the price is $20/month higher. The performance is worth it.

      • agreed. Sounds like we have the same setup, I have a proper server rack all unifi spared no expense. And it sings with ABB.

  • +1

Been churning with other cheaper companies for the past while but been running into congestion issues so going back to ABB. If their connection is more stable and faster then the extra money is well worth it.

    • I’ve been in the same boat cheap wood with a bunch of holes haha i’m happy with 100/20 for $75 knowing superloop is offering the same

  • +1

Whilst I agree the connection is better on ABB but I can't resist the $99 I am getting from superloop. I actually wanted to churn out at the end of my 6 months special period, then they retained me by giving me another $99 for 12 months!

  • Just wanted to throw out there that i mainly shared this for the 100/20 plan as it’s same price as superloops 100/20 and there are no bargains at the moment for ABB so more deals the merrier right :D plus i dont need more speed or want to spend more than $75 haha plus i’ve heard they are a great provider and i’m heavily persuaded by bad reviews whoops

  • I’m with ABB FTTN 100/20 and the claim typica speed is around 100 down

The modem connects to IP at 94 down and 21 up

The best speed I can achieve on average is 83-84 down

I’m approx 100-150 away from the NBN Green box

If I get FTTP which is now available but stay on the same speed plan, will I get better speeds or the same?

    • +2

You will get better as the distance doesn't really matter with fibte, it would be like you plugged into the nbn box.

    • +1

You get 105Mbps to 110Mbps download with FTTP.

With FTTP you don't get connected to the green FTTN node.

      • +1

        Thanks
Just wanted to make sure it’s worth the upgrade on the same plan

  • +8

This "churn economy" really ticks me off.

Why cant they reward loyal customers?
I'd rather stay can keep cutting over every 6-12 months…

    • +1

My guess is, most people don't churn chasing the cheaper prices once the discount ends. I suspect most people stay at the same ISP for the long haul and just pay the advertised price. From a customer point of view, of course reward the customer but from a business point of view, if people are happy (staying) with the current price they are paying, why give a discount…

  • If you are with ABB, lookup where is my ip, my friend was located somewhere in India. Is this due to recycled ip address or are they buying ip addresses from overseas?

    • +2

No this is due to site incorrectly keying in this information, tell ABB they will change you and sort it out. it can take 48hours to update.

  • +2

Currently only available for eligible customers with a FTTN or FTTC connection.

I'm on FTTP, but still can apply the code and get $20 off.

    • I would love to know this as well???
The code still works….but I remember in the past (2-5 years)
I had a similar 20$ off promotion code and the bastards would not apply it, asking for screenshots and what not. So if we are already on FTTP maybe a chance of this going sideways?

  • +1

No love for existing customers, and one with HFC that is constantly undergoing maintenance on almost a weekly basis. Awesome!

  • I am currently paying $95 for Superloop 100/40.
Any cheaper option with similar service quality

    • 100/40 @ Exetel is $78.99/m for 6 months. New Exetel nbn services use Superloop's network.

    • TPG $105 1000/50, plus they will beat any advertised price that is for a 12 month period so if for example you can find a plan that is $99 for the first 12 months , TPG will beat it, i find their speeds pretty solid, have been using them for 20 years, i dont think i have ever had one single drop out in that time, plus they have $10 off for 3 months right now so $95 for first 3 months

      • Eligible Providers: Aussie Broadband, Belong, Dodo, Exetel, Optus, Superloop, Tangerine and Telstra
