Very important

An HP+ activation is irreversible. Choose HP+ at product setup requires an HP account, connection to the internet, and use of only Original HP Ink cartridges. In the event that you intend to use non-genuine inks, don't sign up for HP+ and disable the printer update function in the printer settings.

i got a 10 year old HP printer and it does this BS all the time. Switched to brother so simple and easy

      • my Brother printer finally gave up its drum for 18 years on daily office used.

      • Is yours laser? Im looking for a small cheap mono laser

I suggest all my customer to NOT sign up with HP + and turn off the Auto firmware update in the printer.

Please don't support and sell these assh***s then

Not everyone can afford a color laser printer or an ink tank inkjet. This budget-friendly model allows users the option to skip the HP+ sign-up during setup. For those who print less than a ream of A4 paper each year, this is a great choice.

I have this printer, only bought it because it was on ridiculous discount. It is not great, wifi drops out a lot. it takes forever to turn on and wake up. HP ink subscription is a joke. The HP app on the PC and Android is only just passable and you have to have a HP account to use the PC version to its full extent. Why does HP want to know what i print when i print it?
When it finally breaks soon i will replace it with a ink-tank from either Epson or Brother. Avoid all HP printers at all costs, I learnt the hard way.

Once you turn this printer to HP+, it requires an internet connection to access certain features, including printing.

  • I have subscribed to HP+ since I first got my printer probably 2yrs or more ago. First few months was free and I printed heaps of full colour A4 photos that would have cost me over $100 in cartridges.
Since then I keep my subscription on 50 pages for $9 per month. If I print just 10 full colour A4 photos then I reckon I break even assuming printing an A4 photo is around $1 at least at the shops. Even Kmart charge $4 for an 8x12 which is roughly an A4 size.
Credit also rolls over for 3 months from memory so if you don't need to print 50 pages in one month you can carry it over.

Anyway it can be good value, keen to hear if there a more cost effective ways to print low volume photos at home. Not keen on spending $600 on an ink tank printer to print 10 photos a month

    • what u need to subscribe to print with HP for a printer you brought branded HP?

      • nah i have this. you just don't install that junk.

I am also here to say please don't get this printer unless you have a code or codes to get free ink. I started with 6 months at 700 pages a month but the printer itself is also of poor quality. Not printing colours correctly or with linee in pages. However I may have just got a dud.

    NEVER buy a HP printer

  • +2

Not a great printer or company (HP).

    Don't support anti consumer practices.

    • As long as you don't buy their (HP) inks, you don't support them.

  • +5

Just buy a Brother from another motherfacture
