Spewing… Bought this machine last week from Appliances Online for $945

Only used it twice but it's been great, super quiet too.

    • Bought for $1200 from TGG 2 weeks ago…. saw the price drop from them 2 days afterwards to under 1k. Asked them if they had price guarantee, told us was only with extras…. they never offered or talked about it. Pretty bummed, have bought 20k plus from them over the years. Emailed their manager with no response. Will probably never buy from them again.

TGG offer 30 days change of mind and they don’t record SN on tax invoice for washer and also TGG has 30 days best price Guarantee, you can claim for 120% price different from HN.

        https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/30-day-price-guarantee

        • Thanks mate but that's ONLY if you added their Gold Services Extras. Never was a mention in sale and never thought about it. Sad.

what an amazing price. i remember i paid $1250 after all the cashback stacks and discounts. I've had this for 2yrs now and it's been great.

Silly question - what's "premium delivery"?

    • +3

Not silly at all - it's equivalent of delivering and unboxing of large kitchen or laundry appliance and removal of the old one. This does not include complex installation jobs.

        Thanks mate

  • Is there any PB anywhere?

Is it worth getting the Bosch series 8 over this? Was looking at the 9kg.

    • -1

Only if you don’t like learning to fix washing machines.
I have heard that the Bosch washers have super long wash cycles and no way to get around it.

I have an LG that was chewing my clothes up but switched to eco wash and cut the powder by half so I didn’t need extra rinse cycles and now my clothes aren’t worn out and the wash time is nearly halved aswell .

I would check on that with the Bosch ,unless you wash at night, otherwise 3.5hr washes mean you barely get to hang out clothes by midday ,
and you won’t get everything perfectly dry on partly cloudy days .

      • That's not true at all. Bosch cycle can be long but you simply select Speed Perfect button which shorten the cycle right down.

        • +1

Glad to hear it then ,
I was going with what I’d read in another post .

          • @beach bum: Yeah I don't think they would have changed the cycle with the new version. My one which is 3 years old defaults speed perfect on each time you switch it on.

For example switch the machine on and it selects Cottons cycle with speed perfect on, duration is 1:05. Turn the speed perfect button off and it's 2:45.

I mostly use speed perfect because it washes well. If things are really dirty or I'm doing timer delay when out and don't care how long it takes I'll sometimes choose the longer cycle as I'm not waiting on it anyway.

            • @placard: I’ve seen people say this about the LG as well ,
when mine has somewhat adjustable wash cycles.
I thought maybe it was just people using the cotton cycle and complaining instead of searching through the wash menu for one that better suited their needs.
I would just make sure the machine you’re buying has shorter wash cycles that you can access and not just auto cycles that weigh your load and the ai takes over to save water and electricity with a 4hr wash cycle.
I know how hard these things are to move once you get it home so maybe a little due diligence before you buy is a good idea also?

      • I have heard that the Bosch washers have super long wash cycles

A guy who seemed to know these things told me once that the cycle time is relative to the volume of water (which is relative to the load size), roughly 15m per kg. So a full load 8kg wash will take 2 hours, a 10kg 2.5 hours etc. Was the Bosch washer you looked at a 14kg model?

  • Where is it made?

    • +3

      China

      • I believe they were bought buy Haier a few years ago , and they moved most if not all manufacturing from ANZ to china.
Worth checking reviews too before any big purchase, see if any red flags with specific models of any brand.
Checked reviews and it seems to rate very highly and at 10 kg about the perfect size loads in a fairly compact machine.
Available at the Good Guys or JB also , so you can price match and use discounted gift cards to further reduce the price possibly,
        and 2year warranty.

  • The Samsung 11kg Smart Front Load Washer - WW11CG604DLB is only $811.85 via EPP into 30/10 but alas OOS :(

    • What's EPP?

      • +1

Employee Purchase Program. But you can access it for free via Westpac anyway.

Bought one of these for ~900 a month or so back after our 20 yr old washer from the same brand gave out. Really solid machine.

  • +1

Got a f and p front loader and it has been solid. About 3 or 4 years now.

  • What kind of negotiation can you get with premium delivery? Any chance they'll throw in free delivery?

    • I asked but they said they hardly making anything on these (less than $5) so no room for that. Plus you are getting the gift card.

WAs quoted $55 for delivery or $75 for delivery + install or $79 for delivery + install + remove old one.

  • +1

Its much more pricey but I love the 11kg one I got with auto dose. Its been great.

  • F&P or this one?

    • decent reviews on ProductReview

And there's no way to fake those…
