And struggle to find something worth buying at HN

  • +6

Jb just price matched this inc gift cards.

75 inch plus delivery, bracket, wall mount, cables in wall for $2,273. Crazy

    • +2

Hi mate, can you share your invoice with me please? Rather not buying from HN

      • what wrong with HN if i may ask?

        • +1

in my experience warranty claims are a nightmare. could be just my store though.

        • +8

All of OzB is pissed with Gerry for pushing to have GST placed on <$1000 international delivered items.

        • +6

During the Covid pandemic, Gerry took over $20 Million taxpayers' dollars when the federal government gave them the money to help their employees get paid. During that time he made substantially more profit than before and never gave the money back to the government.

      • HN always have the best warranty experience IMO. Plus they arent getting you to sign up for spam. Shop with them.

    • Yeah can you let us know what you said or asked?
I rather buy from JB as well

    • +1 on the explanation on how this was achieved. Online chat not budging on GCs for me :( Surely a receipt screenshot would help us all out :D

      • +3

I went in and spoke to a staff member. You’ll always get better service than on chat. I said β€œhey just saw the Harvey Norman is matching with gift cards equal to 10% on top, what can you do?”

He went off and spoke to his manager and did me a deal. The TV came down to $1,845 the rest of the price match was built into the cables in wall which the installer will be told to comp the store.

    • +4

I am getting it delivered for $1811.80 and didn't go to the store, phoned up..

        Nicely done.

      • +2

JB are so hit and miss. I guess just keep trying until one agrees?

  • +1

Best bang for the buck for sure. Amazing TVs.

  • Wait for black Friday or pull the trigger, will be interesting to see how this pans out

    • when is black friday, pardon the ignorance?

      • +2

29th November. But there are usually good deals starting 2-3 weeks before then

        • πŸ‘

  • JB won't match the "extra services", i.e. the gift cards for me

  • +2

just bought the TCL C855 65 inch for $1405.
pickup tomorrow. Hopefully they give me the Giftcard then, so I can turn around and buy a soundbar whilst it has a 15% discount on this weekend.

    • +1

Just did the same! Couldn't wait for black friday. The deal is too hard to resist.

Works out to be about $1260 if you manage to spend the gift card on something you want.

      • +1

        I know, such an (oz)bargain.
If the gift card comes when I pickup the TV, will be looking at the Samsung Q930D soundbar - and with the current weekend discount and gift card, should end up being around the $700 mark.

        • I actually hope the gift card gets issued later which I could use for something else on black friday.

      • +1

I was told in the store if the price goes any lower in next 30 days (black Friday deals should start by then) they would refund me the difference.

    • +1

I had TGG price match the C855 65” including gift cards, price totalling $1,264.50 for click and collect.

Do you think the box will fit inside a new Tucson SUV? Do most people get these delivered or do they fit in large cars?

    • +1

Well the size of the 75 box is 1850L x 190D x 1125W. So measure your car.

I am curious as to whether HN will help put mine in the car, as opposed to just deliver it to my car.

      • Thanks, will do!

      • They did in the past just to put a 42" tv into my car. I assume they'll do the same with larger tvs?

    • +1

Tried my kluger, not a chance for this TV

    • +2

I don't think it would fit in any car.

      Box was massive.

    • +1

tv boxes have heaps of padding so they are massive, heaps bigger than the tv itself.

  • Dang I paid almost $2500 delivered almost 2 months ago.
    Great tv though.

  • +3

GG will do price match including gift card, got 85inch with price match came around 2301.00

    • From where?

      • +4
        • Great price for the 85inch

        • But you bought their add-on services so paid more anyway?

        • +1

Thanks mate for reporting in, got the 75" from them with a 5% off gift card for a total of $1,695.75 (with $59 delivery). Pretty happy with the final cost. The were offering around 1.2k for the 65inch as well.

  • +3

Ordered from GG for $1,725.30 + delivery
    Thanks OP

    • +1

i got the same deal and it gets delivered on monday !! lol it all happened so fast, now i have to get rid of my C835.It could be fun to see the differences side by side lol im hoping the new model is a fair bit brighter and much better black levels ( 6 times the dimming zones,it should be a very noticeable difference)

  • Anyone try to price match the 65 inches from tgg with receipt? Try to get one tomorrow b4 stock run out, thank you!

    • +1

I had TGG price match the C855 65” including gift cards, price totalling $1,264.50 for click and collect. I also picked up the Hisense HWFS1015AB 10kg washing machine for $806.40 price matched by TGG.

  • 75β€œ C855 or 85" C755?

    • +1

For anyone reading - went with the 85" C855. JB floor rep was awesome and let me double dip so ended up ~$2100 for delivery tmrw!

      • +1

Lucky man I tried all day with online ended up with the 75" from TGG

        • Yeah thanks man - counting my blessings!

I tried online chat as soon as they opened (#2 in queue) but no dice. Figured they sent out a memo to include the 20% off perks rather than a "price match". Fallback was gonna be TGG so when he said "loophole" I stopped considering the C755 altogether.

Had a couple gift cards from the ALDI sale not long ago which brought the price down a little more. Forgot about the Cole's deal but I really shouldn't be complaining.

Just got the message that it'll be here by 10am tmrw! Woohoo!!

      • I also got incredibly lucky the other day and just had a link sent to me and the 20% perks code on top worked. Got the 85 for $2100 delivered also! How is the tv going for you so far, any tips?

        • +1

          Niiiiiiice!

TV is amazing, built in sound is actually good as well apart from the complete lack of bass. I tweaked a bunch of picture settings but ended up resetting most of them to default coz I actually find it tuned very well straight out of the box and suits most scenes, esp HDR and Dolby Vision (DV) content. On DV I think I'm just gonna stick to DV Bright otherwise the Menus are blinding on the DV Dark option, when triggered.

Sports picture mode is awful by default. You'll see what I mean. Drop down that saturation, contrast and black balance (I think) and it cleans right up.

Put on Top Gun and Gravity to have your eye balls taste heaven and convince yourself it was worth the AU$408.80 price jump over the C755 lol

          • @hyper4ctive: Haha sounds like a blast! Im not a huge fan of watching sports anyhow so that bit doesn't phase me. I'll have a play around with the settings myself but keep what you said in mind.
A bargain is always worth the price jump 🀣

  • Its been a while since i bought my samsung 60 inch from HN in 2017.

Whats a good tv mount that goes with this please anyone have any recommendations?

  • Is this model worth the additional ~$400 from the C755?

  • +1

Thank you bought c855 at Good Guys for $1,264.50 (being HN price minus the bonus gift card). Paid only $1200 thanks to discounted gift card from work.

  • Any giftcard on sale atm? Tk

  • +3

Just used GG live chat and they instantly gave it to me for $1725 + delivery.

    • my wife did the same thing last night !! $1784 delivered and it arrives tomorrow. Awesome deal imo. i have the C835 currently and its been good but the black levels aren't great with only 360 dimming zones ( especially on movies around the black borders) and its bright but not bright enough. c855 looks like a massive improvement, 6 times the dimming zones and more than twice as bright. i'll be checking them both out next each other tomorrow when it arrives to see the difference haha

      • Interesting, i did a chat and they said delivery wouldnt be until mid november :(

        • +1

I ordered a few hours ago and they told me they only had 2 left in stock
          Edit: in Vic

          • +1

@Schmatt: yup i mustve missed the boat. I sold my current tv which is getting picked up tomorrow, cant really be without a tv for 2-3 weeks so i ended up getting the 75" thru jb hifi. Didnt get the full $1700 price but i will get the tv on tuesday :)

            • @DiscoJango: i'm in vic, must have had more stock possibly. they're coming sometime before 4pm tomorrow. just had an update message not too long ago. now i need to try and sell my current 75" C835 lol it all happened so quick

    • Yep exactly the same result for me but via phone!

  • Anyone knows if can I use multiple gift cards to make the payment on The Good guys ?

    • Yes, I used 2 on my order with TGG

      • Ohh so 2 is maximum? And rest with card ?

        • +1

probably can do more, but for me I used 2 GC + card

        • +1

2 is the max online, if you order for pickup in store you can go to the store and use more than 2 (i'm not sure what the max is)

  • Ended up price matching with TGG paid $1695.10 inc delivery. Used smart spending gift cards

    • How? Do you have any screenshot? So I can use it as an evidence to ask the same? πŸ˜…

      • +1

        Sure thing. https://imgur.com/a/PtgwxMG

Note they did they its a 1 - 2 week wait.

        • Thank you. By the way, only two giftcards it allows you right?

          • +1

@JinTheGod: Np I only tried two not sure if it will allow a third sorry

  • When do the e-gift card get issued? Assume with the tax invoice? Collected my tv the other day as was on back order and nothing yet.

    • I got mine a few hours after tax invoice

  • Anyone have recommendations for best settings? Or leave it stock ?
