  • Sweet deal. ATL for this model and size?

    • Pretty sure, spewing I bought it literally 15 days ago.

      • IF you got it from HN let them know. They will refund the difference plus giftcard

    • Yes the tv came out this year, I bought the 48" version for about $1600 in july

  • +1

    Meanwhile 32” QDOLED is $1899

    • +3

Niche product with very specific specifications vs much more mass produced TVs that's been around for quite a few years, give it time.

  • ah fk i better go buy it… better than the deal i posted yesti

  • +3

    any discounted gift cards?

    • Cashrewards seems to have 2% off cards. Found anything better?
My company affiliated cards have 3% off so I'm going with that

      • 3.5% but need to be with a union or some shit. does cash work anymore for getting better deals? hahaah

        • +1

I went with 2x500 and 1x200 cards at 3% off. It's hard to get gift cards at a good discount when you actually need them!

          • +1

@Schrodinger: well done better than nothing. if i sign up under my fathers seniors card i can get 3.5% but i dont even think its worth it for the $40. ill either afterpay mine or just pay in cash.

            • @bob98: You can save ~A$24 with the cash rewards GCs. But probably not worth the risk.

Even in my case, I lost the extended warranty and purchase protection insurances from my debit card for 36 bucks. I've never used those, but it is something.

You can get 65 inch for $1613.2 from JB Hifi

You need to follow few steps and also need to do couple of returns to get this pricing.

Walk into JB Hifi store and ask them to price match Harvey Norman where TV is being sold for $2796 and you also get 10% back as a gift card
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-65-inch-c4-4k-uhd-oled-ev…

In my case, the Manager deducted further 10% ($279.6) from the TV and asked me to purchase $279.6 equivalent of any other product. I opted for $299 mobile.

Also purchase LG SC9S soundbar in the same transaction which gives you $500 discount on this TV
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-c-series-sc9s-400w-3-1…

Don't mention about JB Perks 20% discount at any stage. When you go to make a payment, make sure staff is different from.the one who prepared your order slip. Ask them to scan JB Perks code which would reduce final price of TV to $1613.2 I.e. 2796 - 279.6 - 500 - 421.28

Return the soundbar and mobile/whatever you purchased to a different store once the TV is delivered

    • +1

Surely JB control this ordinarily, but if caught out in the process not sure what my excuse would be. I guess I’d back out the sale and not come back! Very clever, but in my case I’m sure the original salesman would follow me!

      • +2

Ask staff that you are browsing more stuff, handover the order slip and you will go to payment counter when ready.

Browse aome random things like fridge or washing machine for 5 to 10 minutes and then go to payment counter. Offcourse make sure same staff is not at the counter when you head there

        • I bow to you! Appreciate your insights.

          • +1

@Tjazz1234: I have personally done it so I am sure it can be achieved lol

        • You are a true ozbargainer!

      • -5

As someone who works at JB. I will keep an eye out for people trying to pull this off haha!

    • This effort is worth the positive thumbs

    • +2

I'm sorry, but this is too advanced even for me.. we are starting to leave the realm of ozbargain

    • Alright time to put this theory to work but first of all how do i get JB Perks?

Edit: I'm about to lose a lot of monies or win a lot of monies

      • How did you managed to do it on call? Can you explain it so i can give it a go?

    • +2

Tried this afternoon. JB staff at TV section knows about it and answered they already match HN's price when perks 20% off code is used. No go at that JB branch. Even said there was another customer earlier who attempted the same.

  • If you subtract the value of the gift card this is really $1000. Pretty sweet deal.

    • +2

Shouldn't it be closer to $1100.

      Edit: $1076

      • D'oh.. Yep bad maths.
I got one, still a great deal I think.

  • +4

Just beware if you're using it as a PC monitor some panels have bad green tint that is very distracting when your app has a white back ground. i've returned mine for that reason.

    • Isn't there a way to fix it using colour cal/adjustments.

      • +3

no, its panel issue with the C4. just google it. Its alright if you're using it as a TV as you don't view whites constantly but as a PC monitor it's unacceptable.

        • Then fingers crossed. I ordered this one. If it's bad I'll try get get it replaced.
Just googled it.. Looks a bit like a viewing angle issue too which is supposed to be not so good for this model anyway.

Somebody mentioned he could manage it by going into the "White Balance" settings and changing green to -25

    • On the flip side I have the 23 model and had an older model before hand and can't go back to not using one of these for my PC.

No issues with green tint either. But realise that might be a panel to panel issue.

    • Use this - https://youtu.be/zv-2yP7Rumo?si=hnyrpHxfm3eExRD3.

Made a world of difference for me. Next step is to setup LG TV Companion on my PC.

  • +2

God dammit, just paid $1329 + $12.99 shipping for it. Well, at least it’s becoming cheaper now.

  • +2

can i buy something with the gift card and return it for cash?

    • No they’ll just refund to a gift card

    • I think payments are usually refunded to the original payment method (otherwise it opens up creative ways to launder money)

      • Nah, the company just loses out on the credit card fee and you 'withdraw' money interest free. It's basically just against the credit card issuer T&Cs.

        • True that's the biggest issue.
I once got cash back for an our of stock item after waiting for a few months. The best thing was that the original order was with a 48 month interest-free installment scheme via a credit card. So I actually gained money effectively.

  • As someone who has the 23 model and uses it as a monitor, can HEARTILY recommend this to any PC users looking for a great monitor

    • So do you think it works better than 2 of 23" mid-range monitors for a day to day work like Word, Excel, photoshop? Thanks

      • +3

as a programmer, I will never go back. I went from 2x 31" 1440p monitors, to a single 4k LG C2 and I just can't describe the beauty. OLED is amazing, the 120hz is perfect. everything is crisp and clear. The only downside is that you'd need a beefier computer now that you are driving 4k. Gaming on one big beautiful monitor is better than one of your 2 side monitors. everything is centered.

however, this only works if you spend a lot of time playing around with your OS's scaling, and using things like FancyZones to create partitioned off area of the screen for certain apps. the size and res is so large that you dont want a single app full screened, for example I have 2x Rider IDEs, and Unity on my screen whilst I work. I only switch between other apps like spotify/discord when needed.

        • Thanks on the tip on FancyZones. I'd forgotten the name of it.

        • Thanks

I am using C2 as a monitor for almost 2 years. No issues and pretty satisfied!

    • My 42" C2 has been fantastic, super happy with it.

  • Do they issue the gift card straight away? I do need a new microwave as well…but would like to buy the microwave from them this weekend too, and get another $30 back in gift cards!

    • Mine from the last deal (purchased online) took about 4 business days to get in my inbox. In-store purchases I believe they issue on the spot as a customer in front of me received theirs for another purchase. Best call the store though.

    • In store they issue straight away with a physical promo gift card that you can use straight away. Got one today when I bought the sony x90l

  • What 10m HDMI cable do you guys recommend, that could support 120hz+

    • +1

For 10m, you should go for a fiber optic cable.
      I got a 15m HDMI 2.1 48Gbps 4k120/8k60 fiber optic cable off AliExpress for about $40.

With standard copper cables, I wouldn't go over 3m. I've tried 2m-3m Llano branded and SAMZHE branded ones off AliExpress they also work fine.

Edit:I've tested all cables upto 4k120 10bits HDR10+/4k60 12bits HDR10+. Fiber cable works as good as the short copper ones.

good guys can do it for $1077 flat

          • -1

@hoosier-daddy: try get the other guy to his is 60 cents cheaper than mine :(

    • Didn't work for me, only offered to match without GC

      • +2

        Chat with a different agent

      • Just got offered $1077. They definitely can do it.

      • i never mentioned price matching just ask what there best price is dont mention HN

        • +2

Oh I mentioned HN's offer and it still worked, got offered $1076.40.

Thanks mentioning the good guys price-matching btw.

          • @alwaystooslow: all good i prefer without the gift cards anyway so it was perfect. cash rewards has 4% cashback aswell so im trying to figure out how i can use that also.

            • +1

@bob98: Ah good luck! It does say that price matching is excluded but can always hope it slips through the cracks

        • I didn't mentioned any other retailers as well. I asked for a better price, the chat representative offered $1076.40 directly with a 7 days invoice

      • When is their live chat open? And how do you chat to a real person, im stuck talking to their stupid AI

        • Nvm got the offer for $1076 and bought it

    • Wish I tried this.

    • +1

Love you man, it worked and used the extra money to get the hdmi 2.1 cables from Amazon 😅.

Man this TV is great as a Monitor, love it so much with the AI Sound + Audio Engines HD6.
Good riddence to my old IPS panels, I don't miss them at all 🫡

      • +1

ah brilliant stuff mate. Im going to pick one up tomorrow from tgg its a 40 min drive but i fking hate harvey norman on the sunshine coast.

  • +1

Anyone had any luck having JB to match HN?

    • Tried it, they refuse to match gift card bonus per their policy (which I checked and it does say)

      • Its Managers Discretion, some will give you a GC, others will just deduct on top of price

    • Can confirm my local store let me match, and knocked off extra 10% for the GC

  • +1

I bought the LG C4 65” for $2516.40 after using 10% gift card to itself. The discounted price is $2796. Hope this will help someone.

    • Hey mate, assuming you did that in-store rather than online right?
Did they generate the gift card for you before putting the sale through?

      • +1

Yep I did it in store. They generate the gift card after and somehow taking 10% off the price. I asked the first salesperson she didn’t want to do it so I tried another one and yes she did it for me. I bought it from HN in Malaga WA.

    • will go down and try that at HN tommorow will save me the 50 minute drive to good guys. Cheers :)

  • Do these come with a wall mount? If not - any recommendations for a slim mount?

Edit: ignore! Says what’s in the box on the link. Keen for recommendations if any!

  • +1

    Absolute bargain.

Bought this from JB for $1495 just 3 weeks ago…I hope they'll refund the price difference.

If you can deal with the large screen, its simply the best PC Gaming panel you can get.

Its just so versatile - 42 inch is perfect at 4K for a variety of reasons.

If you GPU Scale / Centre and set to:
    2560 x 1440 - you have a 26.5inch 1440p monitor
    3072 x 1728 - you have a 32 inch monitor
    3840 x 1600 - you have a 38 inch widescreen 21:9 monitor

    • Interesting, what's the use case for using it in shrunken mode ?
      I use a 40" 4K screen, but I've never used it at anything less than a 40" 4K monitor 🤔

      • FPS like CS2 where you use mouse and keyboard….can play like on a normal 27inch monitor.

  • So tempted, but have been living a more noble life recently without a big tv in the bedroom.

    Guide me

    Wise ones

There is a fork in this road

    • doooo iitttt

    • if you do it ill do it.

      • Already ordered at posting above…😉

  • +2

Price matched for the 42" at JB and applied the 20% perks discount on top of it. Final price $955.

    • +1

Which store did you price match? Did you do this in store?

      • No online anymore

      • Tried instore as well no go

    • Damn it, just ordered from HN. I will try this with JB live chat and see how I go, then cancel HN.

      Thanks for your post!

      FOLLOW-UP: DENIED!

      • Oh no! There goes my plan too…

    • Doesn't work online hey. They recently ish changed it so perks doesn't work on price matches :(

  • I got denied as well - perks discount wont stack. Good Guys will do it for 1076 though.

    • JB price matched HN via chat, however 20% coupon doesn't work online. Not sure if it'll work instore.
