Just bought the the TCL c755 65 inch for $1,084.80 click and collect.

First tv that isn't a Sony since I started working.

Sony lost me as a customer when they sold me a "refurb" tv that was DOA and refused to replace it

    • +1

Did you find a resolution with Sony ?

      • +5

        The resolution was poor.

The box looked like it had been through 3 wars. Clearly been returned multiple times and resold without ever being checked.

The DOA was the sound. The speakers were cooked and sounded like someone using headphones underwater.

They had so many opportunities to turn it into a good customer experience and failed on every chance.

So I'm trying tcl as a protest. I know it won't impact them, but every movement starts with a single person wanting change

Did you buy it from Sony refurb eBay store?

      • +2

Does that matter? You can't sell someone a DOA TV

        • +4

Does that matter? You can't sell someone a DOA TV

I am just asking where did he buy it from, I didn't say they can't sell someone a DOA TV, so that I can avoid it.

      • +1

Yes I did. And their return process was similar to something I'd expect from a company looking to actively lose customers.

They were showing in stock online, said they weren't, no offer to find a box damaged, no offer of a discount on a factory new model.

I told them I'd stop buying their tvs they didn't care.

I've got a house full of 75 inch Sonys and now I have a tcl.

        Time for a change

  • +3

That's a pretty good price. Might even come down to below $1K like the C2 did at some point..

    • Idk man, I was hoping for that to be the case last year with the C3, but wasn't even close.

  • +1

Any idea why it's showing 1495 for me still? I'm logged in with my perks account.

    • +1

U need a coupon code for it. It's in ur email

      • +1

        Ah got it, cheers!

  • +2

best TV Ive ever owned, although I use it mainly for 144 PC gaming.. it looks incredible.

    • +1

How far you sitting from screen?

I’m still toying with idea of it as a monitor, instead of 2 x 27

      • +2

most people do it on at least 800mm deep desk from what I've read, I was also toying this idea, ended up with a 27" 360hz oled + 2 more monitors instead.

      • +1

Not far, have it at the back of deepish 1m desk.. probably about 800-900mm?

At first its big but couldnt go back to 27. Well, I do at work, but home is awesome now.

I got mine in the previous deal from HN with the gift card, been using it as a PC monitor (replacement for my 43" which was on the way out). I've used it purely for productivity so far, really enjoying it.

I found I had to make some colour setting changes as whites had a strong blue to them. I also got a Desky monitor stand so it floats infront of me and is height adjustable. Good move if you're after a large good quality screen for your PC.

    • How hard does Excel go on it?

      • +1

Overall not bad. It can struggle with all the white so abl kicks in slightly. Just have to choose the right dpi as it can all look tiny at 100%, humungous at 150%. You do get a tiny bit of colour fringing (not sure of the technical term, but has to do with the panels layout) with specific colours, especially yellow .

    • How are you finding yellows? They seem really off in comparison to a phone (s22 ultra). The jb hifi yellow looks really off to me.

    • which monitor stand?

  • Great Deal!

  • +1

    Now or black friday ?

    • +4

Just go now, you'll save yourself the pain of having to chase stock.

      • +1

        bought it

      • Every year I miss out, C2, then C3 now hoping to miss out on C4

        • lol me too, mainly because I'm actually after the 48", and that size for some reason never drops in price.

          • @Tbargain12: What's the use case that only a 48" fits but not a 50" ?

            • @IceCold: I have a speaker either side, the max amount of space I have is a 50" but since I wanted OLED the 48" would've been perfect, but I can't justify the extra cost. I ended up getting the 42" today at JB, matching HN price + giving me an extra 10% off instead of GC.

  • Will Hardly Normal price match + 10% GC?

    • You can go on live chat on HN and ask.

  • Trying to live chat on JB website about this but it’s not working. Anyone else having this issue?

    • what are you trying to ask ?

      • Just a delivery question

  • any good monitor arm for this? or just let it sit on the desk?

    • +1

Probably better to just let it sit on the desk honestly. Most people do it that way.

    • +1

I use a Heavy Duty Monitor arm from Desky with my 42” C2 , $159 might not be the cheapest but def not the most expensive either for a great quality arm.
Note you’ll also need a VESA mount plate that you can get from Amazon

      Desky monitor arm

      VESA plate

      • Nice might do the same. No issue with weight?

        • Nope no issues with weight. The TV with the plate weighs around 11kg and the Monitor arm can handle up to 20kg. The TV on the mount looks much cleaner on the desk and you can also adjust the height of it, so I’d recommend it.

Can I get this deal if I sign up for JB perks now? I haven't had it before.

    • Yes

    • +6

Harvey Norman have priced match without needing a code plus there's 10% back in gift cards.

      • Thanks!

  • Sick price

  • Can sometimes help me understand why this 42" TV is worth so much? There are a lot much cheaper.

  • Seems this model size only goes to 120hz not 144hz for those interested, still great price

    • +1

Rtings says this one goes to 144hz. Just no brightness booster

    • It goes to 144hz confrimed.

  • Can get the 65" for 2795.. ive seen lower but should i hold for it?

  • +5

You can get 65 inch for $1613.2. You need to follow few steps and also need to do couple of returns to get this pricing.

You can also do it for other sizes.

Walk into JB Hifi store and ask them to price match Harvey Norman where TV is being sold for $2796 and you also get 10% back as a gift card.
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-65-inch-c4-4k-uhd-oled-ev…

In my case, the Manager deducted further 10% ($279.6) from the TV and asked me to purchase $279.6 equivalent of any other product. I opted for $299 mobile.

Also purchase LG SC9S soundbar in the same transaction which gives you $500 discount on this TV.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-c-series-sc9s-400w-3-1…

Don't mention about JB Perks 20% discount at any stage. When you go to make a payment, make sure staff is different from.the one who prepared your order slip. Ask them to scan JB Perks code which would reduce final price of TV to $1613.2 I.e. 2796 - 279.6 - 500 - 421.28

Return the soundbar and mobile/whatever you purchased to a different store once the TV is delivered

    • how did you get the 10% back in gift cards ?

  • +2

When you go to make a payment, make sure staff is different from.the one who prepared your order slip.

lol and what happens if the they are not? Return on the spot and try again? Lolol

    • +3

      drop everything and run

    • just wear one of your wife's dresses and one of those big gardening hats and sunnies

  • dumb question. Is the discount per purchase or per item… eg buy 2 TVs only 1 gets the 20% or buy 2 TVs (in the one purchase) get 20% the both

  • Good Guys will do this for $1076

  • Do these come with a wall mount? If not - any recommendations for a slim mount? (Posted the same on the HN deal too)

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought one for WFH … Can't wait for a cheap tv as monitor, I'll use the white balance -25 green tine adjustment and report back

  • If i use a bundle offer for 55 inch one and then return the subwoofers, will the 500 discount will still be applied to the tv? And will it get 999 back?

  • I'm considering whether it's worth adding another 3-year warranty for a couple hundred dollars, in addition to the 2-year warranty already offered? Any help please
